"The representative from
Midland Tree Services Provider Name Locked
showed up a few minutes late for the estimate but they weren't too far behind. I received a courtesy call from the main office that the estimator was on his way. The estimator was cordial. I felt the price was reasonable for the work they would be doing so I did not get any other estimates. The estimator advised the work could be done sometime in the next two weeks and the office would let me know what day. I did not receive a call notifying me when they would arrive. The crew that arrived was not overly professional i.e. they were smoking in the backyard and one employee put his cigarette out on my deck. They did not leave any butts to be cleaned up. The actual work was great. They even took some additional piles of yard debris that were raked up and ran them through the shredder. The next day an employee arrived with the stump grinder and removed 3 of the stumps as I requested. All in all a good experience and I will contact them again in the future for any of this type of work.

"It is a small company here. They did a lot of things in general. They take care of the garden, and built a small stair case in the backyard. They cleaned tree hubs. They built a wall clear around the house. They removed snow, and planted trees. It was a good experience. We told him what to do and he did that. It was an easy going thing. I will recommend him. The price was very good. The quality was acceptable, but not high. He was responsive. He is coming on Friday for another job."

"Started at 8:15 am. Very prompt and efficient. They disconnected cable and phone (consumer disconnected power). No wasted time. Cut down tree, removed all brush and logs and ground out stump and roots. Reconnected cable and phone (consumers reconnected power). Everything was cleaned up when they finished at 4:30 pm. I would recommend them highly.

He made sure everything was done to our satisfaction and had excellent follow up to ensure our happiness :-) He also referred us to a few other contractors that helped us out and were also wonderful to work with :-)

"Two of my next door neighbors had several tress removed from their residential properties. I asked them if they were happy with the service they recieved and they said yes. So I asked them for the name and number of who did the work for them. They referred me to
Midland Tree Services Provider Name Locked
(989) 205-4644. I called
Midland Tree Services Provider Name Locked
(owner) in the afternoon and asked him when he could come out and give me an estimate to cut down one, very large tree (diameter at the base was 4 feet) and several branches from several other trees. The branches I wanted removed were up 20 -40 feet. I told
Midland Tree Services Provider Name Locked
I only wanted the tree cut down. I told him I would take care of limbing and cutting the tree up for firewood myself. I have my own chainsaw and have been cutting wood for 40 years. However, the large tree I wanted cut down was close to my house and was too big and too risky for me to cut down on my own. I called
Midland Tree Services Provider Name Locked
's phone number and got his message service. I left my name and number.
Midland Tree Services Provider Name Locked
called back within the hour.
Midland Tree Services Provider Name Locked
said he was just finishing up a job that afternoon and could come over in the evening around 5 pm if that worked for me. I was very pleased he was so responsive. He came out (on time) and gave me an estimate that evening. $400 to drop the large tree and $50 to cut down the branches. I was expecting about $400 - $500 to cut down the large tree so I agreed to the quote and we set up a day to have the work done. The next day I decided I wanted a second tree cut down. So I call
Midland Tree Services Provider Name Locked
to see if he could add the second tree to the already agreed upon work scope. I got his phone message service again and left a message.
Midland Tree Services Provider Name Locked
is a younger man who started his own business a few years ago. His business is growing and therefore I don't think he has a secretary to answer phones for him yet. So the times I did call him I got his answering service. This would ordinarily bother me but since
Midland Tree Services Provider Name Locked
responds to messages very promply it wasn't an issue (this is the only reason I gave a B rating on responsiveness).
Midland Tree Services Provider Name Locked
said it was no problem to add the second tree to the job.
Midland Tree Services Provider Name Locked
showed up on the work day on time. He had two workers to help him. He arrived with a large dump truck towing a large limb grinding machine. I was impressed his business was doing well enough to obtain such large and nice equipment.
Midland Tree Services Provider Name Locked
agreed to cut down the second tree for $100. It was a smaller tree of about 1.5 feet in diameter. It too was close to my house and I felt it was too risky cutting it down myself.
Midland Tree Services Provider Name Locked
dropped the two tree EXACTLY where he wanted them to fall. Then we started cutting branches.
Midland Tree Services Provider Name Locked
has the skills to climb the trees using climbing gear. This was nice since he didn't have to drive on my lawn with a large truck and mess up my lawn. While cutting down the branches I added several more branches on several more trees to what we originally agreed upon. Obviously it too more time to cut down the additional branches. I figured
Midland Tree Services Provider Name Locked
would charge me at least another $50 - $100 for the extra branches. He had to climb about eight trees to get all the branches. He did a great job not dropping the large branches into my flower beds. He was very concious about not damaging my lawn and beds.
Midland Tree Services Provider Name Locked
and the two other workers were very polite and professional. I was out there the entire time they did the job and really enjoyed working with them. At the end of the job
Midland Tree Services Provider Name Locked
charged me $500 for the entire job. I was expecting $400 for the large tree, $100 for the second, and $100 -$125 for the branches. I think
Midland Tree Services Provider Name Locked
dropped the price on the large tree since he was able to drop it easier than anticipated. I asked him if he was sure $500 was enough. And he said yes, that was fine. So I opened the door for him to charge me more and he didn't take advantage of the situation. So, bottome line, very happy with the work. Very happy to support a young man who has the initiative to start his own business and is providing jobs for his employees. I live in an upscale neighborhood and my neighbors and I expect a professional job.

"I called on a Friday to ask for an estimate. The lady at
Midland Tree Services Provider Name Locked
said there was a possibility they would be out later that day or the following Monday. On Tuesday again to see if someone would come out for an estimate to which the same lady said she would have someone call me. Later that dayI heard from another individual who asked if I still needed a quote. I chose to go with another company, but it would have been nice to actually have gotten a quote from them.

was great. I called on a Friday and we had received an estimate later that day. I confirmed that I accepted the estimate on the following Monday. They arrived on Wednesday and the trees were gone within an hour. They did a great job cleaning up when they were finished. They then arrived on Thursday to grind down the stumps which was done in a matter of minutes. Overall curtious and thorough service. A pleasure working with them.

"Very clean job, no damage to any parts of the yard or house. All sawdust was picked up, and grass was "fixed" where the tree hit the ground. When the crew left, our backyard looked like there was never a tree there - great job!

"Over all the crew did a great job of dropping the tree and clean up afterward. I was not home the day they did the work and had no conversation with the crew or the person that came out to give the estimate. Once I selected them to perform the work, I was told it would be about 4 weeks before they would be out and that was correct. They had several line items on my hand written estimate that I was not clear on what they would do and the cost and I had to make several calls to confirm what was to be done. The morning the crew showed up they called me and asked me to come home to move one of my vehicles so they could get to my backyard; it wasn't an issue as I work close by. That particular day they did the work we had rain in the afternoon and by the time I arrived home in the evening the crew was gone. I found too my surprise several extremely large pieces of wood as well as the
Midland Tree Services Provider Name Locked
not ground out. I contacted the office to ask if and when they would be back to finish and I was told they had already finished. She then looked at my work request and realized she forgot to tell them to grind the stump and said she would have them come back out. As for the large (some over 8 feet in length) remaining chunks of wood, I was told that if I didn't give the crew instructions on size then that is what they do. So I am stuck with either cutting up the remaining chunks of wood or hiring someone else to come and do it. Be sure to be very specific on what is to be done when working with tree services. When shopping around I had prices all over the place. I felt selecting this service would offer the best service based on what I needed (concerned with tree so close to house). The other kicker was it took another month before they came out to grind the stump. In the mean time I received a bill for the “completed” work which had not been done.
