DMr. Picky Carpet CleaningI had to make the young man go over an area that wasn't even that dirty but he had not gotten it clean. He did get it out, but other spots that were easily removable are still there, and bedroom carpet looks as dirty as it did before. It looks like they didn't have any soap or cleaner in their vac, just water. Very disappointed.- valley m.

AVredevoogd Heating & Cooling IncTom (Sales) answered all the questions from my wife and I, from the initial visit and during several follow-up calls before we made our decision. I even spoke with their engineer regarding the WiFi thermostat. Surprisingly, the new system was scheduled for installation two business days after I told Tom that we wanted Vredevoogd to do the job. Several other contractors were consulted from my list and all of them seemed capable with similar pricing. A short list was created from AngiesList, some friends recommendations, a requirement for a local company, and company research online. I also researched and educated myself on the various heating and cooling systems and their operation, contractor's selection, and pricing. And while Vredevoogd may have been on the pricing high-end, we were was sold on the size of the Vredevoogd company and their parts and labor guarantee. On installation day the installers called 20 minutes prior to their arrival to let me know that they were on the way. At 8:30AM two employees from Vredevoogd arrived and a third arrived at 10:00AM. The install crew laid down tarps to protect the carpeting where they had to walk and wore shoe protectors if they had to walk off the tarp or work area. I was allowed time to install some wall insulation around the furnace area after the old furnace was removed, but the new unit is so quiet that I don't think that it was necessary. The old system was removed and a new system installed with a price quote that included: removal of the old furnace and AC units, labor, tax, permits, condensate pump, duct transitions, evaporator coil, compressor, compressor pad, compressor saver kit, condenser lines, electrical wiring, a new furnace switch/fuse box, drain PVC pipe, combustion & exhaust PVC pipes, 5-1-1/5-2 Day Programmable Thermostat, an automatic humidifier, refrigerant reclaiming, three years of maintenance, and a great warranty. The entire work area was cleaned up afterwards and I received an overview and instructions by the lead installer. All system documentation was stored in a holder attached to the duct work. The crew was professional, informative, and they finished by 4:00PM as promised. Due to cooler weather during the installation period we were able to test the furnance before the heating season ended. Several days post-installation the temperature between living levels in our home has maintained a balance within three degrees, as Tom said it would be, and the Missus is very happy with that change. The only disconcerting thing is that I can't hear the furnace running to know if it is working or not; just joking, I love the quietness! No more rocket blast-off noise from the furnace igniting, or the squeaking fan, or the rush of cold air out the vents as the furnace fan comes on full speed. This system cost a lot of money and I looked at several companies before settling on Vredevoogd. So far, they have exceeded my expectations. During the 2015 cooling season the AC worked very well, almost too well, and Vredevoogd responded to each of my service requests in a timely manner by helping to fine tune the thermostat advanced settings. Having a reliable HVAC system that is supported by a dependable company has helped to make our home more comfortable and less stressful after replacing an old and failing system.- haggle b.

AVredevoogd Heating & Cooling IncThe guys from Vredevoogd are actually still at the house finishing up but I am already so happy with the service and work they have done that I am wasting no time making sure I give them a top notch review. Scott and his partner were as absolutely helpful and knowledgeable as possible. We talked through all of the changes being requested, their thoughts on the best option and actually changed something around for the kitchen vent plan that I like the solution even better now. We have a very old home so it's almost like a puzzle figuring things out, but they did a great job doing so. I would/will hire them again in a second. They were very nice and caring right from the get go and put down drop cloths throughout the house. Couldn't be happier right now. Just one small downgrade of rating on punctuality because there was a mix-up and they didn't show up on our original date, but we gave them a second chance and they got us on the schedule again in 2 days and even showed up a little early. Thank you!- Brian C.

AVredevoogd Heating & Cooling IncThe technician was right time. He explained what he was going to do as this was there first visit. He checked out the burners and chamber to make sure they were working order. Then he vacuumed out the blower fins and areas around it, that is when he showed me the dust build up in the cold air ducts. The blower motor capacitor was weak and he replaced that, and said everything else was good. He answered all my questions that I had.- Robert S.

AVredevoogd Heating & Cooling IncThey were excellent. Because my furnace died in Jan. it was cold. They brought me space heaters that kept me toasty warm while they did the work . It was all done in just two days.- Kelly H.

AWe have two dogs and spots did not come on. They owner came out and he put stuff on and told us what to do. We're very pleased with them. We had a little disagreement with the price because the house is larger than anticipated so I reminded them the price so they honored it. They knew what they're doing.

FTLDR: Their work failed, causing water damage to my home. Repair crew they sent blamed me for the damage without inspecting it. In September of 2020 we had McDonald Plumbing repair two pipes under the kitchen sink and install a new faucet. On Monday, January 12th 2021 I discovered water was leaking from under the kitchen sink and into my basement home office. When I checked under the kitchen sink, water was spewing from the hoses McDonald Pluming had used to connect the faucet to the water lines. Both hot and cold, every connector from the shutoff valve to the faucet was leaking. I also realized they used a total of four hoses to connect the faucet to the water; two on the hot, two on the cold. After shutting off the water and cleaning up, I inspected the basement area below the kitchen sink. The entire area was waterlogged, warped and spotted with mold including the sub-floor, cross beam and trim around a basement window. It was obvious that this job had been slowly leaking for a very long time. We called McDonald Plumbing and explained the situation. We were told the earliest they could send anybody was Friday. Not wanting to wait that long I began the process of replacing all four of their hoses myself. Half way through this project I was contacted and told somebody would be at my house on Tuesday. At this point I had lost faith in McDonald Plumbing's work and I just wanted somebody to assess the damage their work caused and present me a solution to make things right. Tuesday morning two men from McDonald Plumbing come to my house. I show them photos and video of their original install spewing water. I show them how the two tubes I replaced are no longer leaking, but the two remaining from the original install are still leaking. I explain that I no longer have confidence in their work and all I want to know is “How is the company going to make this right.” The man from McDonald Plumbing claims all they can do is replace the tubes (something I was already doing myself). Without inspecting the damage himself, he proceeds to blame me for the leak and the damage it caused. Holding in my fury, I politely ask him to leave my house. I then call McDonald Plumbing again explaining that I have lost faith in their work and service and that I don't want any representative from they're company in my house again. All I want is a refund for the original work they did and I'll handle any repairs and insurance claims myself. Again, I can no longer trust their work. The service rep I spoke with tells me the only course of action I have is to let an employee from McDonalds pluming back into my house to inspect the damage. Again I explain this isn't happening, as I can't trust any decision making or work they perform. That's where we left it. All I asked for was a $200 refund for the bad work they did. At this point the amount of time they've spent and bad will they generated fighting me has probably cost them more than the measly $200 I'm asking for.
