Remodeling Kitchen And Bath reviews in Mason

After reading all the glowing reviews on Angie's list, I called to make an appointment speaking with owner Taylor Teachout. He offered me a choice of two days. He and I finalized an appointment time and my husband and I were really looking forward to it when surprisingly Taylor called the day before he was scheduled to come out telling me he was no longer accepting new clients - he was "too busy". When I expressed my disappointment he said maybe he'd have time if I were willing to wait for 4 to 5 months - that would be sometime in August or September of 2017! What a crummy, disappointing and dishonest way to run a business...

Installation went as expected, according to the estimate and invoicing.  Excellent workmanship done in a timely matter.  They also let me pick out what doors, windows, roofing, siding and garage door openers I wanted. I'm very happy with the results.

t we have already gotten things that went into it. Brad was We live in an old farmhouse and our downstairs bathroom was badly overdue for remodeling. This was also the first time we have tried to remodel-so we didn't understand the all the things that went into it. Brad was very patient and understanding with all our questions. He also explained what he was going to do-before he did it. Brad was helpful in helping us pick out and up fixtures, flooring and our new counter  top. When it turned out not to be the one we ordered he went  to bat for us with the dealer and made a difficult process much easier. We are more then happy with the quality of the work done. In fact we have already gotten another estimate from brad for more remodeling work. My wife and I can highly recommend Brad, and plan to use his services in the future

Terry, the owner, was polite, patient and very professional. His redesign proposal was surprisingly clever and his work was clean and precise. It was a very good experience and I would hire TEL again. The job came in under budget.

It actually didn't go very well at all. I went to Lowe's and that's where I found Teachout. If I hadn't had Lowe's to enforce, he probably would have walked away. He kept pushing me off saying, "Oh, I'll come next week. I'll come next week. I'll come next week." Only once I called Lowe's and Lowe's told them that if he didn't get there that they would pull his contract, did he actually finish the work. I was asking him about prices because he did an extra job for me and he never gave me a written estimate. Afterwards, it was higher than what he had told me. He asked me a couple of months after that what my heritage was and I said that I was Jewish and he said, "Oh, that explains the estimate confusion." He then told me that he was a Jehovah's witness and started to proselytize in my driveway, on whose religion was correct. I never even said I was religious. So I would not recommend them again, ever, ever, ever. The other issue that actually happened was that I preliminarily measured my kitchen, like the walls and went into Lowe's so that they could give me a basic design. And then it was supposed to be confirmed by him. Even though he did tell them that he confirmed it, he actually never physically came in and measured. And the reason why both Lowe's and I know this is because the special order cabinet that we had was twice the size. I completely mis-measured and it was twice the size of the wall. So there's absolutely no way that he would have made a mistake like that. When I contacted him he said, "Well, there was no electricity in the house, so I couldn't do it." So, I talked to Lowe's and they allowed me on a special order, to return that cabinet, which I guess is not a policy that they normally change. It was because it was his problem. Because he didn't measure it. The work that he did do was incredible. It was very good work. It took us three and a half months to do a kitchen cabinet install with minor plumbing. So it would not have been acceptable if I was living there. He was kind of using it as a side job. It was never a point where he worked a full week on that house. The price was great. But the price was not through him. The price was through Lowe's.

We could not be happier.  Brad may not be your cheapest estimate, but this was a large project and there were no "hidden" surprises, he definitely goes the extra mile.  It took 5 weeks, with a hard deadline, we left on vacation the day after finishing.  We were having walls removed and new walls built, meaning a lot of mess.  The first thing that was done were plastic walls built to keep the dust down as much as possible, which really helped.  All workers were courteous and conscientious.  Because of the hard deadline, Brad was willing to work later and on the weekend, of course, only if it was okay with us. The workmanship was excellent on all parts.  If any problems arose, Brad was right there to handle.  And considering the mess that construction can be, they did a good job cleaning up each night.

I've heard many horror stories about contractors and I am very particular.  I was kept in the loop on all issues, with Brad's expertise bringing to light my ideas.

This, although tiring, was a good experience and we have already hired Brad for additional jobs.  If you want it done right, I would highly recommend talking it over with Brad and Carpentry Plus.

It went better than we planned, everything was done on time and on schedule. We have since had Fedewa Plumbing back for additional smaller jobs. They did a great job, were highly professional and responsive. We have not hesitated to share this experience with family and friends. Several have since hired Fedewa and have also been pleased. They are a good, honest company and we are happy to have their number for our future plumbing needs.

They did an excellent job.  They were out when they said they would be, they installed it, and cleaned up after themselves.  I was very happy with them.  I am going to have them remodel a bathroom for me in a year or two.

$22,000. Brad started by framing basement walls and ceiling and walls for closets and a bathroom. He added insulation where needed and then put up drywall. He put in a shower and vanity in the bathroom. He painted walls and ceiling and put in a dropped ceiling in most of the basement and finished it with oak trim. He did an excellent job and I would hire him to do any project I have to do. We are very happy with his work and professionalism, a great and honest person.

Woodstone set up a temporary sink and kitchen setup so that it wasn't so hard to be without.  We are glad that they suggested that for us.  The project went smooth.  Anything that came up they talked to us about and set reasonable prices.  We were so happy with the kitchen we have now, it's like night and day!
