FAlbin LandscapingTerrible job. This was a 2 part job. 1. Install a brick walkway. I supplied the bricks. 2. Grade the W side of my house yard-8' wide. He showed up day 2 and left after 2 hours, day 3 he left again.. day 4 his "dad" showed up on a motorcycle to help... Landscaper said he'd be back early morning. Day 5 no show... til later.... Day 5 he finished some of the brick but didn't lay the side bricks for framing..... I asked why he didn't install the **** below.. he said there was enough clay jn the yard so I didn't need it.. i informed him i wanted the **** for support as discussed and agreed. Ummmm the bricks slide in the clay flyer it rains. The next week he worked and then said he needed partial pay so he could take his daughters camping and he would return on Monday to complete the walkway. He took a pic from a distance- but not upclose where it would show holes in areas not filled in, crooked bricks and no side framing with the rest of the bricks to hold it together. From 60 feet away it looked ok...but of you look at it up close-even 10- 15 feet away..... it shows that he did a shoddy incomplete job. Don't hire this scammer- you'll regret it. Monday-no show. Tuesday- no show No answer on phone. Wednesday no show. Thursday he said this part of the job was complete and if I wanted him to return to complete the grading I would have to pay him the complete 2 part job....then he would come back.....wow. what a theif. Oh ya... he gave up on the simple design towards the end half and crammed the colors together so the whole brick walkway looks stupid. Lousy dishonest company. Don't hire this guy he is a thief. The enclosed picture is a small showing of the terrible job he did...the whole walkway has crooked bricks. To make matters worse we had to lay down landscaping plastic frame temporarily so the bricks don't fall off the side.....til we can have ot repaired.- Herbert G.

ASunrise SeamlessThe estimate and work done were on time and work done as expected. Comforting to know they are insured etc. knowing they'd be working on second story. There was no push to buy new gutters although it would be helpful so I appreciated hearing my options and pricing for new ones.- Lahna T.

FBased on the extremely poor workmanship and management of our project we do not recommend using Albert Esser II and Esser Builders II (“Esser”). Our project experienced multiple problems, including structural issues, several code violation warnings issued by the building authority, improper material use, safety concerns, and quality issues. (For examples see attached pictures.) Throughout the building process Esser was given opportunities to address these problems but was either unwilling or unable to meet code and provide a project meeting the industry build standards as promised. When the project was shut down due to COVID-19, more problems were identified including several structural deficiencies, additional quality and safety issues, and further code violation concerns. These problems are substantiated by multiple licensed industry experts and professionals that reviewed the project work by Esser. These industry experts include: • a licensed home inspector who provided a report identifying approximately 50 issues and concerns with safety, code, workmanship quality, and structural components, • 2 professionally licensed structural engineers -1 hired by us, 1 hired by Esser’s insurance company - each provided comparable reports citing 12 different structural deficiencies, • our building authority inspectors whose last inspection cited Esser’s work for 13 code violations, • and 6 different licensed builders who each reviewed the work for repair and determined, due to the “extensive number of problems and extremely poor construction”, it was best to have it demolished and rebuilt. Once the project was shut down it became apparent that Esser failed to meet the obligations of his contract that stated a project meeting and following “all local building codes” and “industry standard build practices” and clearly didn’t meet the timeline estimate of being completed in “approximately 4-6 weeks”. A few specific examples of Esser’s failures on our project are: 1) Albert Esser II began excavation work on our property illegally, excavating without calling Miss Dig to identify our underground utilities and hitting our natural gas line with the excavator, damaging the tracer line which identifies its location. 2) Albert Esser II began building illegally, starting our project without obtaining a building permit that resulted in the building authority stopping work on our project. 3) Esser’s inability to follow industry standard building practices and poor management choices resulted in 3 “WARNING TO SHOW CAUSE” code violations and a “CEASE AND DESIST WORK ORDER” (See Picture C ) being issued against our project by our building authority. 4) The project was still incomplete at 28+ weeks since the start of work which does not include the start date being delayed by approximately 5 weeks from the scheduled date. Esser was unable to explain the excessive discrepancy from their initial time estimate, which was equivalent to several other builders’ estimates we received when quoting this project. Our building authority also questioned the excessive amount of time they were taking. 5) While we work to get this project repaired, we continue to have quality problems with the workmanship including poorly installed siding that is falling off (See Pictures A and B), doors that don’t work properly including one that is not able to be used due to poor workmanship and/or structural deficiencies, and visible bows and waves in the garage walls from poor construction. (See Picture D)

AWe hired Mr. Barnett to fix a steep driveway. He and his crew were excellent! They were very detail minded and even did a few 'extras' that they thought would help us out. The crew was knowledgeable and friendly. They explained everything as they did the work. They did all of this at a great price. I would HIGHLY recommend them!!

DDisappointed for a second time with a small fence installation. The first time it was installed the boards warped in a matter of weeks. They offered to redo the fence and I opted to pay more for a higher quality wood. These things happen, so no worries up to this point. The second install appeared rush, as you can see from the pictures, the top of the boards are not level across, as if no level line was used. The middle support on the back is very slanted. The board on the front with the latch was also installed crooked. Why? All these things I was willing to overlook just to be done with it. But now, a few months later, all the staples they used to install the fence are bleeding down onto the wood and it is quite an eyesore. So it appears the wrong staples were used for the application. A quick google search taught me that for cedar fences, use stainless steel, aluminum or polymer-coated fasteners. Don’t use galvanized steel – the zinc in the fasteners may react with the acids in the cedar and create corrosion streaks. So what now? I guess I have to spend hundreds more and buy the tools and materials to do it again myself next year. Very upsetting...
