I can't get over what a great job they did. I had an old pine wood jelly cabinet that was stained a dark walnut. Over the years it's gotten a lot of punishment, with scratches and gouges where the bare wood was showing through. I asked them to leave the character of the piece but re-stain it a lighter color that is closer to my current furniture (I gave him a sample piece of wood to use for comparison). The cabinet turned out exactly what I had hoped for imagined if I could magically make it what I wanted. He even repaired where the wood had split in one of the legs. He estimated it would take 5-6 weeks and it was completed in 5 at the price he quoted. He was pleasant to work with and very responsive to emails. I will definitely go back there again for another piece I'd like refinished. I recommend them highly.

    David Kollar Piano Technician
just fine. he was also helpful in finding a time that worked. I don't have a piano tuned that often, so it probably was the going rate for the service.

    RARE Moving & Storage
This was an amazing experience from start to finish.  The owner, Reid Kamaul, responded to our phone call promptly and scheduled the local pickup within a couple of days-in fact on a holiday weekend!  He and two workers arrived on time and the choreography began.  They were polished, professional, and friendly.  They worked quickly and steadily while cheerfully answering all the questions we peppered them with.  They were knowledgible about the maker of our piano and shared information about the company and it's history.  As they dismantled the piano, each part was carefully wrapped for storage and transport.  It was all over in under an hour and we are still telling people about the experience.  The piano was held in storage in Boston until they had a shipment south and it was only a couple of weeks before we got the call that it was on it's way.  The Mississippi owner had the exact experience in reverse as they unpacked and assembled the piano.  She was playing it before they were out of the drive!  It was truly worth every penny and we can't say enough about this terrific company.  We would trust them with packing and transporting anything.

    JMD Wood Restoration
The chair was petty much demolished due to an accident. (Don't ask.) Broke my heart too, because my grandma did the needlepoint and it was "always" in her home. No worries, John fixed her up right, repaired and refinished broken wood, repositioned needlepoint and dyed trim to match. We will sit more respectfully on it in the future, but we CAN sit and enjoy it, thanks to John. As others have mentioned, don't be impatient because it takes time to do good work. He is a true artist, and a respectful restorer. The cost was reasonable.

The entire experience was fantastic! They called about 30 minutes prior to arriving to let me know they were on the way (they were coming from Grand Rapids and I live in Mason). Jason and his partner arrived on time, made introductions and got right to work. They took extra care to protect my floors and walls while moving the piano from the basement to the first level. They didn t require any additional help and had a perfect system to move the piano. They moved the piano carefully and quickly. They secured it in their trailer and off they went.

    Almar Carpentry
Alan was wonderful to work with and we will definitely be calling him anytime we need a skilled woodworker! He came over to look at the project we wanted to do. He took time to look at pictures I had gathered for a bench. He dropped a quote off at our home just a few days later and began work not long after that. His quote included a payment schedule, which I liked. He asked for a deposit to begin work and then listed each payment amount upon completion of each portion of the project. So overall, I made 4 payments in increments as the work progressed.  Alan always answers his phone or promptly returns calls. His pricing is very fair and he is knowledgable, methodical, and careful. The completed project was everything I was hoping for!

Amazing workmanship! Excellent attention to detail. It is not inexpensive, but worthwhile if you have a quality piece of furniture.
