Basement & Foundation reviews in Mason

After reading all the glowing reviews on Angie's list, I called to make an appointment speaking with owner Taylor Teachout. He offered me a choice of two days. He and I finalized an appointment time and my husband and I were really looking forward to it when surprisingly Taylor called the day before he was scheduled to come out telling me he was no longer accepting new clients - he was "too busy". When I expressed my disappointment he said maybe he'd have time if I were willing to wait for 4 to 5 months - that would be sometime in August or September of 2017! What a crummy, disappointing and dishonest way to run a business...

Excellent and conscientious work by a local, long-time, business owner who has learned the trade over 3 generations of masonry, foundation repair, basement waterproofing, concrete pouring/leveling experience. The on-site crew was friendly, prompt and very good about cleaning-up once the job was complete. The estimate and final cost were exactly the same price -- absolutely no surprises. I highly recommend this company to any homeowner who's seeking such work. If you're able to plan a few months ahead when scheduling a project and/or acquiring an estimate, please keep in mind that patience is a virtue. I was told up front that this crew was booked several months out with other projects. But since I was able and willing to wait, I have absolutely no regrets about doing so now. As is the case with any competent, skilled, quality construction business today, they are typically booked several months in advance because of the high demand for their services.

The salesman sold the deal and promised that they would straighten the wall, fill the outside portion with pea gravel and then replace the dirt nicely. They did straighten the wall but didn't put in any press grave, they just put the old classy forty right back in. They left the surface of the dirt a total mess. It was bumpy and there where areas that sunk and created holes up next to the house where water collected. Many calls to the company we're never returned. Half the promised the sales person made were left out of the contract. We believed what he said and didn't look at the contract. We've learned a costly lesson about salesmen and contacts. I would never ever recommend Ayres to anyone. Buyer beware.

It went very well. I contacted B-Dry and I was able to set up an appointment for an estimate very easily. While setting up the appointment, they let me know they had done a similar repair on the house back in 2001 (two owners ago), and that repair has held up to time. I scheduled the appoinment, they showed up on-time and completed the repair of the new crack that was letting water in. They also threw in chipping out some 'honeycombing' in the foundation that would very rarely let a trickle of water into the basement at no extra charge. While it hasn't rained yet since they repaired of the new crack, given that the 2001 repair hasn't given me any issues, I'm very confident that the new repair will hold up well. Overall, they did a great job!

Installation went as expected, according to the estimate and invoicing.  Excellent workmanship done in a timely matter.  They also let me pick out what doors, windows, roofing, siding and garage door openers I wanted. I'm very happy with the results.

The crew was friendly, focused on their work, they were punctual each morning. Jake the crew manager made sure he communicated the process to me. They made sure they kept dust down to a minimum and when the job was completed Jake went over the completed project with me. I would definitely use them again.

It went very well, on one of the drives more mud was required than expected, but no problem. Both driveways are even with the garage now and our serviceman (Tom) was very personable and explained the whole process to us.

Very easy! In and out in 45 minutes. This guy Julius was a pro. And we can tell that the entire crack was filled with the injections because the material pushes through to the exterior a little. You can go outside and see exactly where the crack is! We built our house 1 year ago and unfortunately we had a crack that was leaking water into our basement. The builder told us to get someone out and they would cover it. with all the good Angie's list reviews, we called this stay dry. Not only did Julius come out and was early getting here, but he injected the crack and then we asked him to walk around the house with us. He found another crack! We went ahead and had him come back out a few days later and he was early again and very quick. Each time he explained the injection process and also gave us tips on preventative measures. this was a nightmare and unexpected situation ; thank goodness for stay dry and Julius. Thank you Julius and God bless you.

All-Terrain Alterations was responsive during the bidding process, delivering an estimate based on documents emailed to the company. For this type of work, the Ingham County permitting process outlines exactly what work is to be performed. None of the bidders came out to evaluate the task--it was all done by email. Be prepared to pay by check or pay a 3.5% credit card fee. This was true with all the bids received.
All-Terrain Alterations was did the job for $3,000 LESS than the next bidder. Remember, this is for exactly the same work as specified by the county. Tim B., company owner, was generally responsive and was very informative.
The crew arrived on time, worked diligently for 12 hours. The old septic tank was crushed in place, the new one placed, the plumbing connection to the existing discharge pipe was completed, new trenches were dug and lined, pipe laid, 400 yards of gravel installed. The soil was replaced and regraded. Clean-up was excellent and thorough.
We had a site complication: a crab apple tree had to be removed in order to accommodate the new drainage grid. The excavators knocked the tree down with our consent and moved it out of the way, my husband found someone to remove it for $200--stump and all--and work continued very timely.  This project was completed according to the estimated bid, no overages or unexpected fees.

Be aware when contemplating this work that weather conditions can make scheduling challenging. Load limits also need to be off roads so the heavy trucks and loads and be moved. With the rainy spring and summer, it seemed like we were never going to get this project completed. But as soon as conditions and the company's schedule permitted, the work was done.
All -Terrain did a great job. The crew was pleasant and professional. And we saved $3,000. We highly recommend this company.

The team worked the better part of two days to complete the work. They were efficient and hard-working, completing the work in minimal time so we could get back to using our garage without waiting too long. The quality of the work is excellent, leaving our driveway and garage threshold as good as new.
