It was a real nightmare for my 93 year old father, me, and my 31 year old son. The first day Mark suggested an alternate timber wall vs. the pretty curved bricks we were expecting. The crew had trouble digging out original footings, and wanted to switch product completely, saying they could save my Dad substantial money. I was out of state, and after viewing some images online, I reluctantly agreed to the change - but only if they used good quality wood, made it visually pretty, and were sure it would save money. Extensive rain was forecast, and the crew continued to put the wall in, but used poor quality fill dirt which turned to a jello. Wall was leaning due to lack of support, and my son (a former landscaper), got involved to guide the process. Many hours later, poor soil was dug out and proper dense fill dirt added (provided by my son), and the wall looked better, but still was not right. Neighbors were even talking about it being so crooked. Our son was present daily to push the crew to make it right, and increase the wall height, as it would not rise above the new concrete walkway being poured soon. Lots of unnecessary time was spent by my son, and calls between us, to get this project to completion. Mark remained absent from the job site for days. The result is not what we wanted, and Mark claimed he could save us a lot of money switching to the timbers. Final bill was MORE than original estimate, and we still are missing a drain to keep the water away from the garage. The wall is made of very rough sawn wood. It is crudely put together, and looks like something that belongs beside a pole barn on a farm, not in a city neighborhood. Extremely disappointed with the end result and value. Recently we found out that all the rich dirt in my Dad's flower bed was removed in the process last year too, and replaced with sand, rocks, and poor soil. So, we just paid an additional $400 to another landscape co. to have it dug out and replaced with finely sifted top soil, so Dad can plant his flowers again this year, at age 93. We can not recommend Mark's business to others.

After getting his quote and asking him if the work could be done before the 22nd of July we had all agreed that the job could be done.  After not hearing from him for a week we placed a call and we were told he would be out on July 17.  He was a no show.  We called that evening, he said he would come over on Saturday.  He was a no show.  We called that evening.  He said he needed to give the guys a day off but would be at our home on Sunday, noonish.  He was a no show.  We called, he promised he would be here Monday morning between 8:30-9:00 am (this is the 21st we needed the work done today).  He was a no show.  Called him at 1 pm, he was just down the street.  He did finally show up, did the work within 1.5 hours, collected the full amount and left.  If we hadn't of been in a bind, we would of called around and had someone else do this work.  It was not worth the four days we sat around waiting and getting angry over this man's incompetence to communicate and commit to a date.

The regional manager stated his office would call spring 2014 to renew contract. Upon getting the call the sales person, Ann, said she needed to get more info. I waited SIX weeks, no return call. I called them, left messages, still no return call. After three more weeks I finally called the national number. The regional manager James Reeve finally responded to my email stating: Unfortunately we are not perfect I called a total of four times, sent several emails. It's sad as they HAD a good product, but it's totally worthless with NO customer support or care for the people PAYING for this treatment. TruGreen needs to CLEAN UP if they want to stay in business. Leadership by excuse is a sign of the times. Used their services for three years. Paid for GRUB control which they FAILED to do, as the grubs ate well all winter long. Picture attached.

LaFleur landscaping took all of my feedback into consideration and completed a job that was exactly what I was looking for.
The design was within my budget, fit the style of my house and neighborhood, and is easy to maintain.

I was impressed with Randy's delegating communication and support to his helper; he was clear and concise. The two men worked well together. The work was completed extremely quickly; I felt at times that it may have been rushed too much to ensure that the better plants were saved but cannot say for sure as I'm certainly not a master gardener. A huge amount of material was removed in a very short time. The work was completed in the summer of 2012 (not sure of date); the invoice was not received until October.

Steve, the owner, came out and gave us an estimate of $100 to do some yard/landscaping work.  They came out and did a good job.  2 weeks later I got a bill in the mail for $180.  80% higher than the estimate.  We refused to pay.  Steve came over to my house several times while I was at work and told my pregnant wife that he would just wait for me to get home.  They took us to court and after the dates got changed a few time (great strategy by the way), I could't make it because of work.  I ended up with a judgement against me for $375.  After a seizure of property notice and a visit from the sherrifs department, we paid the bill.  Now 7 years later, they never filed the satisfaction of judgement paperwork and i can not refinance my house because of this.  I went down to the court house and got the document for them, mailed it to them and they still have not filled it out.  After several attempts to call and getting nowhere i am now posting on here.  This company will never get a dime of money again.

I didn't end up being able to use it because, it turns out that, I am outside of their service area. However,Tuff Turf did reach out to me quickly and let me know about this.

They're very well.  They showed up on time and they did exactly what I wanted them to do and cleaned the backyard.
