    horrible, had to fight with them over the outrageous bill that they had sent me. They couldn't provide any detailed breakdown of where the extra charges were coming from.... CONSIDER YOURSELF WARNED!

    they never got back with me with a price.  then they never answered my emails when asking for the quote.  when i questioned if the tech was licensed they never got back with me.  i know he wasn't.  you can check on the state of mi web site.  turn out the tech that came over quit sheren and ended up working for hopwoods who i hired.  i think sheren left manistee is what happened but i'm not sure.

    overall experience is bad.  promises made during quote time were not fulfilled.  fancy programmable thermostat not installed like promised. he installed a manual.  when i questioned him about his big fancy programmable,   that was part of his quote/sales pitch.  he said he felt i didn't need it.  WHAT?   had to get on him,  then he did it but stole my old programmable that worked just fine.  there was no price change adjustment for a manual.  he was trying to.... RIP ME OFF
    he promised if heating or cooling wasn't right he would install additional cold air ducks like all the other contractors proposed (4 other contractors).  i told him on 6/29/2014 of problems with hot and cold spots, gas leak, and filter not going in or out without tearing.  he said he would get back with me.  never did.  seen him at a neighbors on 7/15/2014 and asked him to come over.  he did.  said there was no gas leak, slid the filter in and said a screw was in the way, but did not fix.  said he'd be back the middle of next week to fix the problems.  never showed never called.  6 weeks later i called him 8/27/2014.  he said he'd come over friday 8/29/2014 at 9AM.  NEVER SHOWED, NEVER CALLED.  so i called about 11AM.  no answer and was not allowed to leave message.  so i called from a different phone that wouldn't show my name....he answered and told me to hang loose, relax, he'll be here.  NEVER SHOWED, NEVER CALLED.
    NOW WHAT?
    to let a possible gas leak on your work go that long without checking??  filters are hard to put in and tear coming out.  he's left it like that.  no response.  till lately.  why?  because he never got a permit as he told me he did.  got caught.  now all of a sudden wants to get in before the inspector.  so much more to say but....
    NOTE ON HIS QUOTES.    HE GIVES LOW BIDS, THEN CHARGES A LOT EXTRA FOR ADDITIONAL WORK THAT (he may have promised)PUTS HIS QUOTE OVER AND ABOVE EVERYONE ELSE.  AFTER HE GETS YOUR MONEY HE IS GONE!
    well it's feb 2015.  D. A. REESE MECHANICAL SUCKS!!  so much more has happened.  he is a joke.  a con.  for all we pay for stuff and get a guy like this.  here's the latest and there's much more.   over the weekend i was trying to adjust the whole house humidifier that da reese installed.  i turn up the manual humidity dial and water started coming out of the humidifier, running all over the top of my brand new furnace.   flowed down the side, over my furnaces electrical components and onto my floor.
     after finding the manual i learned that was a overflow drain.  D. A. REESE MECHANICAL DID NOT INSTALL A DRAIN TUBE AS REQUIRED.  THUS I HAVE A MESS.  a possible electrical fire.  did i mention he installed a new outlet on the furnace and did not install the cover plate?  i have grandchildren.  not to mention the fire hazard he created.  come on!!
     while looking for the humidifier owners manual i found the thermostat manual.  after doing some checks i found D.A.REESE MECHANICAL PROGRAMED THE THERMOSTAT WRONG.  he set it for a furnace with <90% efficient.  my furnace is 95%, HE INSTALLED IT!!  so i changed the setting and instead of the furnace constantly turning on and off, it's more consistent.  so for the last 4 months my energy efficient furnace hasn't been energy efficient.   many many more notes.  neighbors had the whole system he installed removed because it was so bad.  got their money back, but what a hassle.  NOT NECESSARY.  so much more...

    2/2015 update.  the state inspector was just here.  list of violations is beyond me.  boy did D.A. Reese mech do a poor job.  just terrible all the faults, safety issues.  not set up for the best efficiency.  recommending some else come in and fix the work to make it efficient and safe.  intake and exhaust too close together.  this stuff is not cool!!  

    YES THERE IS A GAS LEAK!!  I TOLD DAVE 3 TIMES AND HE KEPT SAYING NO.  WHAT A JOKE.  need more cold air returns as everyone else said.  the furnace is gasping for air.  electrical issues too now.  he wired stuff wrong and wasn't even qualified to do it.    inspector banged his head on reese's exhaust pipe.  same as me.  he installed this pipe right over the cabinet where you change the filter on a regular bases.   also over the area where repairs are done.  why did he install that pipe right in the way?  how about my modine not working.  have to heat the thermostat to get the modine to work.  so i heat the garage, to get the heater going.  something isn't right here.  both places he installed a bad/wrong gas line.  inspector said it would easily cost $500 to rep;ace the part that would go, with this wrong set up.  DOES D.A. REESE DO THIS TO GET SERVICE CALLS FOR HIMSELF?                   AS HE SAYS.  YOU HIRE ME, YOU GET ME.  DON'T DO IT!

    Repairman came at about 9:30 am-couldn't figure out what was wrong with furnace. Spent alot of time on phone. At about 12 pm-he said he thought it was the board. Unsure what all of the additional hours were for-as the board was replaced much later in the day. The replacement was used-a replacement was ordered and installed the following Monday. At the end of service-I asked for a statement so i would have some idea what the final cost was. Was told I would be called and told-and receive a statement before my debit card info was used. Neither of these things happened. The full amount was taken from my bank acct. on 1/23/14. The statement I was promised-prior to the debit withdrawal-was not printed/dated until 1/24/14 and was received on 1/27/14. I called this company--they are "sorry" and if need be-they will "write a letter to my bank to explain the situation". When I originally called-I was told the charge was $69 plus parts and it needed to be paid when service was provided. The serviceman could not provide me with a statement or a total when he was finished. And I am still waiting for "the office" to call me to tell me the total so i could be sure to have that much money accessible. If I had not had that in my account--things could have gotten even uglier!!

    I called Rob expecting to spend $1500 or more on a new A/c unit. My call was placed at 8am and he arrived at my home around 9:30am.
    After inspecting the unit it was determined that a rodent had shorted out the unit. Rob cleaned the mess, reset the breakers , and the unit was back in service. He charged me a $50 service fee which hardly covered his gas, let alone his time from Onekama to the south side of Manistee county. The other impressive thing is he could have charged me much more because I wasn't there to watch him.
    I have since used Lakeshore Mechanical for addition services and have been equally impressed on all occassions.
