  • When I first started going to Women First, it seemed like a great practice (very nice office, initially friendly staff, etc.). However, it also seemed like an extremely busy practice, so I had concerns about that, but it was made clear to me by various staff members that all of the doctors and midwives work as a team, and that if one's schedule gets booked up, another doctor or midwife steps in to see her patients. I'm writing this review to share the story of how, for the past almost two weeks, Women First has been holding my ultrasound results hostage with the excuse that only the doctor or midwife who saw me can share those results. Not only is this poor patient care, but it also calls into question the "team" environment Women First works so hard to promote. I've been experiencing severe pain on and off for two months, so last month I went in to Women First for an exam. My doctor, Dr. Schiller, was not available that day, so a midwife named Taya saw me. She wrote me a script to get an ultrasound at Beaumont. I couldn't get an ultrasound at Women First because they were completely booked. The pain stopped for several weeks, so I held off on getting the ultrasound at first, because I'm not made of money and medical tests are expensive. However, at the beginning of January, the pain returned and it was severe once again, so I went to Beaumont for the ultrasound. I was told the results would be ready in 24-48 hours. That was two weeks ago. Since then, I've called Women First THREE times for my results. The first time, I left a voicemail, which no one returned. The second time, I spoke with a nurse who confirmed they had my results but that I had to wait until Taya was in (four days later) to provide them to me. I explained that I was in a lot of pain and simply wanted to know what the ultrasound showed. Based on the "team" environment Women First promoted so heavily to me, I asked if Dr. Schiller or any other doctor or midwife who was in the office that day could share my results with me, but the nurse refused because she said that would be against the office's protocol. So I waited four days until Monday, the day Taya was supposed to call me. Monday came and went. Tuesday came and went. In that time, I gave up on Women First and called Beaumont to have my ultrasound results sent to my primary care physician, who provided me with the results right away. The biggest issue of all here is that my ultrasound results were abnormal. I have a medical issue that needs to be addressed. Women First has been sitting on my abnormal results for nearly two weeks. I found another OBGYN's office and made an appointment for next week and I called Women First today to have them send my medical records to the new OBGYN. While on the phone with the receptionist at Women First, I explained the problems that resulted in me choosing to leave and said I wanted to leave a message for the doctors to ensure they were aware of what happened. The receptionist was very rude, talking over me, telling me the fact that they hadn't shared my results yet was "protocol," and explaining I'd have to wait until Friday for Taya to come in and give me my results (four MORE days than the original four days I was told to wait for her to return to the office). When I asked why I should believe that, considering Taya was supposed to share my results with me on Monday and she didn't, the receptionist ignored my question. So I sent an email to Women First outlining all of the above and explaining that I'd be writing negative reviews online to hopefully prevent other women from be subjected this kind of treatment. Women First doesn't put patients first. They do not care about your health or your pain. They found it perfectly acceptable to let me suffer in pain the last two weeks without my test results, instead of getting back to me in a timely fashion and moving forward with next steps that will provide me pain relief. Please, don't just take my word for it. Check out the many negative reviews online from other former patients. At first glance on Google, for example, it seems as though Women First has a good number of positive ratings. I wish I'd done my homework more thoroughly and explored this further, because upon closer inspection, there are an alarming number of negative reviews with disturbing stories, from patients having to ask for their medical records over the course of SEVEN years before Women First sent them to Women First telling patients their test results were normal when in fact test results showed such serious issues as genetic abnormalities. Before you put your health in Women First's hands, please do so with your eyes open. Please do your research. No patient deserves to be treated like they are just a number, and with such disrespect and lack of compassion.

  • I use Troy Medical PC: Dr. Bunney.  I was there the end of January.  I usually go once a month because I routinely go there, high blood pressure, so I just faithfully get their once a month.  You walk in, sign your name and wait to be seen, but in that aspect of it's not so much of that as it is even when you get in, I've got over looked because of the way they do their processing, they may basically put your folder up on the door and he runs down two different hallways and sees patients.  I've actually had to run out in the hallway after a couple of hours and say hey did you forget about me?, yea we did I'm sorry.  Overall they're very good, his services are great, his people skills are great, he's like any other doctor, you talk to him on what you're thinking and he listens, but he lets you believe that he does more than others.  He's a really good doctor, he really is.

  • unsuccessful surgery by podiatrist and difficulty walking and balancing with foot. hoped to get another professional opinion to remedy problem but doctors unwilling to listen to concerns and did not provide solution. will find another dr that will take time to listen and testing and hopefully not be so vague

  • I went about 5 times. I did like the doctor. But I wasn't sure how effective the treatment was I had never been before. I was doing the treatment more so for preventative reasons. It was expensive however so I stopped going for the time being. The hours are pretty limiting. And the cost is rather high. The office staff takes up a good amount of time by entering in information every time you visit . And a lot of training occurred throughout my visits which lengthen the time that I spent there. However Dr. Joel is great and made me feel very comfortable.

  • He and his daughter have done very good work for us. They have been very good dentists. I am very happy with them. I like his attention to detail, he provided good service, and he is very professional. They were very good and did excellent work. So far, it has been very, very good. They are very prompt, and very capable to fit us into their schedule.

  • Dr. Remer and Dr. Hoffman work at the same office; Dr. Remer fills in for Dr. Hoffman when he is not in the office, which is most of the time.  I tried to speak to Dr. Remer several Fridays ago and he refused to come to the telephone.  I needed a script for an antibiotic as I had a serious upper respiratory infection and Dr. Hoffman had prescribed medication for this in the recent past for me.  I was told by the office staff that Dr. Remer would call a prescription into my pharmacy.  The office closed at noon; nobody told me this.  Dr. Remer never called in a prescription.  I didn't want to end up in the ER (I also have asthma making breathing even more difficult) so I paged Dr. Remer and he would not return my call.  This is a terrible office with a very sarcastic staff and two doctors who have no feeling of concern or responsibility to their patients.  I ended up that Sunday in a weekend medical facility where I was diagnosed with pneumonia and given antibiotics.  I had asked for Dr. Remer to prescribe antibiotics for the weekend so that I didn't end up in the hospital with pneumonia and could then come into Dr. Remer/Dr. Hoffman's office on the following Monday, but I never got the opportunity because neither Dr. Hoffman or Dr. Remer would come to the phone or answer a page.  Neither of these doctors should be practicing medicine; they have no compassion and would rather see their patient in the hospital than speak with them on the phone.  I suggest you run miles away from this office unless you want absolutely horrible medical care.

  • Dr. Hoffman is rarely in his office, and when he is and you wait an average of an hour to see him, he has one foot out the door when he finally manages to stop by the room you have been waiting in for him.  He is arrogant and shows absolutely no interest in you as a person or even as a patient.  There is no follow through when you are sick; I had a serious upper respiratory infection several months ago, which he knows I get from time to time, and this is particularly serious in my case because I also have asthma.  When Dr. Hoffman is not in, Dr. Remer, his partner, takes over.  Several Fridays ago I telephoned, was very sick with another upper respiratory infection, and asked to speak to Dr. Remer.  He refused to come to the telephone; I was told by the office staff a prescription would be telephoned to my pharmacy by noon.  I phoned the pharmacy just before noon, and they had no prescription called in.  I called back Dr. Hoffman/Dr. Remer's office and was told the office was only open a half a day and was about to close and Dr. Remer had left.  I explained how sick I was and didn't want to end up in the ER and asked if I could just be given a couple days of antibiotics until Monday when the office would be open again.  The staff was incredibly rude; told me if I know what is wrong I should write out my own prescription.  I asked what the point of having a doctor is if he will not come to the phone or return a telephone call.  No response.  I then paged Dr. Hoffman and neither he or Dr. Remer ever phoned back.  I ended up at an urgent care facility Sunday morning, was diagnosed at that point with pneumonia and put on antibiotics.  All of this sickness and aggravation could have been prevented if one of these two awful, inconsiderate and generally rude doctors would have simply spoken to me on the phone.  Then they sent me a letter completely misspelling my last name (the only letter they got right was the first letter of my last name) suggesting I find another primary care physician because I called the office too many times (twice?).   Doctors with this amount of compassion should be doing manual labor or anything else that does not involve interaction with other people.  This is not medical care;; it is medical abuse.  I highly suggest you stay miles away from Dr. Daniel Hoffman and Dr. Stanley Remer and find a physician who at least fakes caring and who will return a phone call.

  • Due to personal obligation around the time I started going, I was very busy and couldnt make it in any more. But the few times I went, I noticed a significant difference in my back pain. He gets everything straightened out and he sends you on your way with a smile and a better back. If you are looking for a professional who will make you feel comfortable in and out of the office, then Complete Spine and Joint Center is where you need to go. I would recommend this place to everyone and anyone in need of a chiropractor or massage therapist.

  • When I went to the appointment I did wait quite awhile just for them to take me back and put the eye drops in my eyes so they could exam me. Then after that it seemed like I waited awhile again. But it was worth the wait. The lady doctor that examined me was professional, friendly and very informative. After the exam she explained my eye condition and said that I would need glasses/contacts. I decided to go with glasses and was relieved to know they had a pretty wide variety of glasses there at Manzo, So i choose to purchase my pair there. I picked my pair and they told me they would call me when they were ready. Only a few weeks later I got the call that my glasses were ready and was very happy. I would recommend Manzo Eye Care to anyone and everyone.

  • The coverage is pretty decent. The copay for office visits is $30 which isn't to high but for someone like me who goes to a dermatologist, it can get pricey being that I have to go more often than a regular primary care doctor. Even with my primary care doctor, who once he started prescribing me medications, I had to come in every month to get the prescriptions. Next topic prescriptions. Most prescriptions are very reasonable, some even FREE. Which is great. But most of these medication, by most people, would be called unnecessary or undetrimental to your health. Example: Birth control shot for 3 month supply is free yet advair ( medication to improve asthma) is over $100. But that's just one example and really just depends on the medication but from my experience having this insurance for some time now. Most of the prescriptions I had filled were almost always under $10 if not $20. I would recomend this insurance company to others on the one condition that it is a new company and they haven't had time to expand as well as other companies.
