I was stranded out on my boat at a municipal dock. I called them and I am not a regular customer, but they got me started and got me going again. He came out and got me going and didn't charge me a nickle. He knew exactly what he was doing. I would use them again in the future.

They were very flexible in terms of scheduling which I really appreciated. Furthermore, they were very accomodating of the fact that I live out of town. Specifically, they allowed me to mail them a check after the work had been completed since they couldn't be sure of the final costs.

We went looking for a new pontoon and went to L & R first, they were close to home and we had been there the year before to buy a part for our old pontoon and remembered they carried new ones. We went and looked at a pontoon they were getting ready to deliver and went over all the options we could get on one. That next weekend we to two other marina's, the first one was Gull Lake, we told the sales person what our price range was and every boat he showed us was well OVER what we wanted to spend. The next one we went to we really liked the pontoon line they carried, the price was right on what we wanted to spend but, they couldn't get us a new one until the end of July and L & R had told us we could get one by the end of June or, the first part of July. We drove back to L & R that same day and ordered a new one with everything we wanted. That Monday L & R called us and told us that it may not be in by the 4th but they might be able to deliver it on the 5th. We were pretty bummed out. They called us on the 28 or 29 (not sure which anymore) and told us that they were going to go to where it was made and pick it up so they could have it ready by the 4th for us! I was shocked to say the least! They called Friday July 1st and told us that they would be able to deliver it on that Saturday, the 2nd but they still had a few odds and ends that needed to be tied up on it, the biggest was getting the custom cover made for it but, if we wanted it for the 4th, they would come back and get it and finish it up after the holiday. Needless to say we agreed! We love our new pontoon and love the service we got from L & R! Overall everything went super good, I cannot say one bad thing about them!

We rented a good sized pontoon from them. It was a very nice pontoon with lots of room and comfy. The workers were nice and helpful. We will definitely be coming back up north to rent again!!

We live on a lake.  We love the lake life.  But, it can be hard.   On the weekends, we just want to enjoy the water, the boat, and the view.  We are tired of hassling with broken boats, broken sea walls, and broken boat lifts.  We want someone to help, so that we can enjoy the lake life. This year, we purchased a new Shore Station lift from JNR.  I had been quoted 10 days for delivery by another company.  Ten days before the lift would arrive and then they would have to put it together and install it.  JNR said he would go pick it up from the warehouse himself.  I spoke to him on a Tuesday and he had my lift built and in the water by Friday.  No kidding. But, the real reason we are so thankful to JNR is the customer service. They went above and beyond and got us out of a jam. We had an old lift.  We hired another company to install it and remove it for a couple years.  Last fall, they had difficulty removing it.  They broke two feet off of it.  It took them three times longer than normal to get it out of the water.  We had agreed on a fee of $200 for removal.  The other company sent us a bill for $500 because it took them longer than normal.  Then, they didn't even offer to help us repair the feet they broke off of it. When we were looking for a new lift this spring, we decided to go with JNR, rather than the other company.  The other company found out.  Sent us threatening e-mails and told us that we owed them an extra $1000 and had one hour to remove our lift from their storage area.  Or they would scrap it and charge us another $500. I had to call JNR at 8:00 at night.  Tell them that I was being threatened.  Ask them for help in moving the other lift. They said yes.  No charge.  They agreed to get our lift and move it to their storage area. We were scared.  We'd never been threatened like that before.   JNR didn't have to help us.  They didn't have to take that call at 8:00 at night.  But, they did. What great customer service.

I have previously been a successful business owner and I know first hand about positive customer relations... All communication from my end as a customer was calm and respectful - guaranteed.  I will admit that I did not ask for an estimate when I dropped the motor off for this work... In retrospect, this was a huge mistake! When I dropped off the motor on July 30, the owner said he was real busy. I told him I was heading to Canada on Aug. 10 but would like it before then, preferably Aug. 7. This gave him 9 days including the day it was dropped off. He wrote '8-7-13' on the top of the work order. He did not say he couldn't get it done. He did not decline the work. I called three times to find out how the work was progressing and left messages Aug. 5, 6, and 7. Their answering machine clearly states to leave a message and the call would be returned. I never received a response. I drove up there (34 mile round trip) at 3:30pm (they close at 5pm) of the day it was to be done. The owner's remarks were sarcastic and condescending. He found that a needed thermostat gasket was not available and he would need to make one. He mentioned nothing about the impeller, so I asked if that part of the job was done. He stated that another guy was working on it. I could see the motor, no one was working on it, and it was exactly as it had been left when dropped it off. He promised to call me by 9am the next day. He did, at 10:36am, to say the job was done. Bear in mind that at 3:30pm (they close at 5pm) the previous day, it had not been started. By 10:36am (they begin at 9am) the next day, it was done.  The most time spent according to their admitted and published hours was 3 hrs. In calling 3 other similar businesses, the longest time estimate was 2 hours. After the fact, I called these same businesses and received rough estimates ranging from $135 to $250. My bill indicated FOUR hours of labor... AT $65 PER HOUR - total bill was over $325! The bill also indicated a gasket with a factory part number. This contradicts what he told me the previous day about not being able to get a gasket and having to make one. The owner was not present when I picked up my motor. The guy who did the work was there and rang up my bill. When he saw what the owner had written on the bill, he remarked 'Wow!' Now why would the guy who did the work be surprised at the bill? Due to the fact that my fishing trip was delayed a day already, I was desperate to get going, so I paid the bill and hit the road. The  owner seemed to be doing the exact opposite of what one would do to cultivate a good business relationship and reputation. He was very disrespectful and talked as if I was an idiot. (I am a professional educator and owned and operated a similar business for 15 years in the '80's and '90's) DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH BEAR LAKE MARINE! I feel I was ripped off.

After discovering a leak in my new boat I returned it to the dealer four times in order to get it repaired this was done at my expense. Now it is several months later and I have discovered the live well leaks water into the bilge. This is a problem with Lund boats. I was never told this when I bought it iOf course. I am writing this to warn future buyers to be wary of a Lund boat.this dealer will not help you much if there is a problem either.

The apparatus has never worked properly.  Several phone conversations have promised resolution, but are always prefaced with some reason why it cannot be done, car trouble, boat trouble, money trouble.  The owner actually laughed at me as I tried to explain the gravity of the situation.  And each time you call you must call from another person's phone because they will never answer your call again.   Here is the last email which outlines the last phone conversation: Good Afternoon  This is a follow up to this afternoon's phone conversation. You have spoken with my mother on several occasions and while you have agreed to resolve this - it has not yet been resolved.  This afternoon you agreed to call me when you got back into town.  You are currently out of town as you encountered car trouble out of state.  You had your son take down my information.  If you have misplaced it -  here is my cell phone 3**-***-****.  You may call me any day/any time of day.  I prefer that you also respond to this email.  I expect that I will hear from you before close of business on Thursday to set an appointment. The boat is currently at MADS (Marine Automated Dock Systems).  You and my mother spoke about you repairing or replacing the unit at MADS before she has it delivered to the property.  Please advise if you are able to do this before Monday June 9th.  If you cannot - I request that you come to my parents' property June 20, 2014 when I will be there to meet you.  I will be there all day.   To summarize, please respond to this email and call me within two days to confirm that you will provide service at MADS before Monday or schedule a visit to my parents' property on June 20th.    I am sure you are familiar with MADS, however I will provide their information is below.  I provided my parents' address to you on the phone.  If you need it again - please call me.  I have copied several friends and family members on this email such that there is a record of the details of the situation thus far.  I look forward to an expeditious resolution of this issue. I will be filing with the Better Business Bureau next.

I took my boat in to have the engine cleaned for the year, I called to ask if it was done after a week of them having it, they replied no.  They claimed that a piece on the water part had broken and they ordered a new part for it.  I waited no calls so I stopped in there they said they just got the parts the day before and would have the boat ready the following day.  The next day came no parts were put in or even ordered yet, they then claimed 2 of the carborators were bad.  My husband then picked the boat up and took it to a different place, the boat was running fine when we took it in and now the water pump is broken completely.  The new place we took it to looked it over and it just needed the lines cleaned out and of course now a new water pump.  Brian's never called us we always had to call them it was bad customer service and when I asked about the problems and bad communication they just shrugged their shoulders and said I was entitled to my opinion.
