Everything was timed perfect and Luis was excellent at communicating through the entire process from beginning to end. ABULTMAN CONCRETEI feel compelled to write a review in response to the other review of Tom Bultman and Bultman Concrete just to set the record straight. The other reviewer said that he was charged an extra $350 on his quoted cost of $11,000. That is a 3% difference from the original quote which does not warrant the harsh language written about Tom Bultman. The other issue the former customer had with Bultman Concrete was with two different cracks in the driveway after the snow receded. Again, these cracking issues do not necessarily reflect an error in quality of finish or the concrete itself. There are a vast number of causes for cracking in concrete in Michigan as we experience freezing temperatures. My biggest issue with this reviewer was his use of the word swindled. From his own account it sounds like he received a new driveway for roughly the quoted price that had a couple of minor cracks in the driveway after the winter season. As you might expect, I have known Tom Bultman professionally for almost 25 years and I can tell you that in the skilled trades he is known for quality of work and is well respected by his peers and former customers alike. FNo show/ no call multiple times for scheduled work. No consideration for customers that have to take time off to be home for the work to begin. Owner was very rude on the phone. Multiple contacts made with corporate as well, no resolution. We went with a different company.

BIt’s a mixed response. First, we love the finished job. Unfortunately, we were given a written estimate that was not itemized and although he said he would give us all of the receipts for materials, as well as the discount he gets for them, none of that ever happened. Also every time something changed or we needed or wanted something different...it was priced off the top of his head. Ohhh you want that? Okay that will be $1,500. Wait...I picked out the tiles and for the sq ft he said we needed, it was no where near the price he said (and that’s without the discount he was supposed to pass on to us). I just don’t like not having an itemized bill, breaking out material and labor. He also said they would cover our bed and other stuff to keep it clean. They didn’t. They put paper on the hardwood floors, which I appreciated, but the dust and dirt was everywhere. I had to strip the bed and wash everything when they were gone. They also banged/scratched door trim and other things. Good thing I keep white paint around to cover stuff. All in all we paid $5,800 for a shower retile. I told him from the beginning that my ex-husband, my dad, my brothers, my son, etc. either are, or were, in construction so I’m familiar. I guess he didn’t believe me.

AAvalon replaced our roof, the soffits and fascia and siding. The workmanship is outstanding and the quality of materials are far superior to any other company we got quotes from. Additionally, of the four quotes we got, ranging from $68,000 to $42,000, theirs was the lowest for the highest quality product we were shown. They were also super fast. We have a traditional two story house, and that is 2200 square feet, and they did the entire roof, including removing the old materials and replacing a lot of rotting boards, in a day and a half. They sided my house, wrapped all the trim and replaced the soffit and fascia in a week. The people we worked with from their salesman Chris to the workers they sent were kind, respectful and patient, answering all our questions and making sure the job was done the way we wanted it. We did not choose them because they were the least expensive, but because of the quality product that they offered and the other reviews we had seen. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone or to use them again if I needed too.
