AFoundation Systems of MichiganVery well. Workers were great. They were successful in repairing the all the damage caused by another shoddy waterproofing company. So far, very satisfied.- David B.

CMontell ConstructionIt isn't done yet, but the construction manager is not being cooperative about some details that are very important to us. His comments on the material and timing for staining the deck are not consistent with information from lumber experts I know.- Lois T.

AGold Star Waterproofing, LLCWe are preparing to renovate our basement, and wanted a professional assessment before doing so, as we had some minor water intrusion several years ago. I called several companies specializing in whole basement systems, and they recommended Gold Star as a better option for my project. Steve showed up on time, assessed the problem areas, and recommended solutions without pushing for overkill. He had a quote to me the next day, and after getting a few more quotes, we decided to go with Gold Star, as it provided the most bang for our buck. Within a week of signing the paperwork, Gold Star was on site, and fixed everything in the course of one day, leaving no mess behind. All in all, a great experience.- Justin B.

DFoundation Specialist LLCContinue to get lots of water in basement coming up through the sump pit they installed. Owner offered to fix problem for more money.- Bob C.

AMontell ConstructionThe job was done very well. The sales estimate and negotiations with Chad were pleasant. The financial deal through EnerBank was painless and confidence-inspiring (EnerBank acts like an escrow account, that wouldn't pay Montell or bill us until we gave the OK). There was a typical long quiet period while we waited for the job to start, but it wasn't too long and we did get a friendly update when we asked. The first job was done by an experienced builder who could have rebuilt our house from the ground up. He worked hard and late over two days, cleaned up after himself and was all around good company. A week or so later, the gutter crew arrived and cranked out great new gutters in a half day. The promised roof flashing was overlooked, but our call was well-received and the work was completed a few days later. After two months, we have no further water in our basement through several heavy rains, the new gutters look good and don't clog easily, and we paid less than half what we'd have had to pay when we got our first quotes for this work by separate basement and gutter specialists. We'd recommend Montell to anyone.- Neil C.

AEverDry Waterproofing of Grand Rapids/SaginawWe had had a number of instances of water backing up into the basement and general basement dampness. Everdry did an assessment of our needs, thoroughly explained the process, and gave us an estimate. Their crew arrived on time and performed all the agreed upon work in a timely and professional manner. The work included digging a trench around the outside of the basement and applying waterproofing compound (tarlike) to the entire outside basement wall and placing perforated drainage pipe around the base of the wall. They chipped out a 4" wide trench around the interior basement wall, installed gravel and drainage pipe in the trench. They deepened the sump pump and excavated a drainage pit in the backyard and installed a vent to reduce moisture. CLEANUP The outside trench was filled in and all disturbed plantings were replaced. The interior trench was filled with new cement. The sump pit was filled in. RESULT We have had no problems with water or dampness in the basement since we had this work done. The annual fee to maintain the warranty is worth the money. We had a failure of the sump pump. The battery backup woked as expected and the company came promptly and replaced the failed pump at no charge. We are VERY satisfied with Everdry.- David B.

AEverDry Waterproofing of Grand Rapids/SaginawWonderfully prompt and precise. Addressed all issues. We knew we would have a water issue when we bought our house 6 years ago. Everdry came out to help us get everything set for our home. The install of the system was done very quickly and professionally. Six years later, we have had no problems. They updated the system when the battery went out via their lifetime warranty program. Would highly recommend.- Kevin L.

AEverDry Waterproofing of Grand Rapids/SaginawThe process of it being done is loud and a bit crazy, but they are a hard working team and the benefits far outweigh any inconvenience during the process. They were very educational towards us and have been great with any maintenance calls we have made. They are quick to respond and prompt with their timing.- Sheri V.

AGold Star Waterproofing, LLCThis A review is very late, but so well deserved. I first contacted Steve 2 years ago with my first water leakage (there has been several more since then). Every time I phone him, he always responds right away. Most cases will give me an estimate on the spot. With the first job he did back in April of 2016, he not only dug down about 10' to repair a deep crack in the cement wall, but he also suggested to dig the trenches and lay down the perforated piping. I had some serious issues with poor drainage in my back yard! After a second visit, to lay down more piping, I can actually mow my lawn in the spring during the rainy season! I hate finding new leaks in my foundation but if I do, I at least know that I found a great person who is honest and trustworthy and that I can completely rely on.- Linda R.

AExcellent. Alan was professional, knowledgeable, and very personable. He did a complete check of the area and found no issues. He went on to show where and how the leak may have originated from our roof. Overall he greatly exceeded expectations and thanks to him we are confident we can finally solve this problem. We will definitely use Foundation Systems of Michigan for any future needs and encourage others to do so as well.

AVery happy with the results. Have had no leaks for almost a year now. What a relief and a blessing. There were times it took an 8 gal wet dry vac 60 full loads to get all the water up before the repair. Hank and his crew worked very hard, were efficient, made little mess, were friendly and business like. I highly recommend this company and thank them for having such such a positive impact on my life.

AOur flooding problems are resolved thanks to Freedom Yard Drains!! After heavy rains last June, our backyard looked like a lake and flooded into our basement from egress window wells. We’ve had to watch diligently and pump water since then when we had any heavy rain to prevent it from going into the basement again. Brent from Freedom Yard Drains did a thorough assessment of our yard then he and his crew did an excellent job putting in multiple drains and a pump in along with new larger downspouts connected to the drains. Brent also stood behind their work and addressed concerns/questions afterwards. We have had multiple days of heavy rains and everything is draining and pumping perfectly! No more lake or flooded basement!! Thanks Freedom Yard Drains!

AVery professional and well-done work to perform repairs to 4 cracks that were leaking from previous repairs and repaired multiple rod holes in foundation. Many of which either were actively leaking prior to repairs or showing signs of leaking soon. The tech, Randy, had previously not been out to site before for quote. But took the time prior to starting any work to go over the proposal and review all work that was expected to be performed to verify his and my expectations were both in alignment. About halfway through the job had me re-verify that all rod holes that were previously identified and discussed were being addressed. Did a great job performing clean up and stayed later than expected to fully complete the job instead of calling it a day in the middle of the work. Would highly recommend Stay Dry to others for work to repair foundation cracks and rod hole leaks.

FTLDR: Their work failed, causing water damage to my home. Repair crew they sent blamed me for the damage without inspecting it. In September of 2020 we had McDonald Plumbing repair two pipes under the kitchen sink and install a new faucet. On Monday, January 12th 2021 I discovered water was leaking from under the kitchen sink and into my basement home office. When I checked under the kitchen sink, water was spewing from the hoses McDonald Pluming had used to connect the faucet to the water lines. Both hot and cold, every connector from the shutoff valve to the faucet was leaking. I also realized they used a total of four hoses to connect the faucet to the water; two on the hot, two on the cold. After shutting off the water and cleaning up, I inspected the basement area below the kitchen sink. The entire area was waterlogged, warped and spotted with mold including the sub-floor, cross beam and trim around a basement window. It was obvious that this job had been slowly leaking for a very long time. We called McDonald Plumbing and explained the situation. We were told the earliest they could send anybody was Friday. Not wanting to wait that long I began the process of replacing all four of their hoses myself. Half way through this project I was contacted and told somebody would be at my house on Tuesday. At this point I had lost faith in McDonald Plumbing's work and I just wanted somebody to assess the damage their work caused and present me a solution to make things right. Tuesday morning two men from McDonald Plumbing come to my house. I show them photos and video of their original install spewing water. I show them how the two tubes I replaced are no longer leaking, but the two remaining from the original install are still leaking. I explain that I no longer have confidence in their work and all I want to know is “How is the company going to make this right.” The man from McDonald Plumbing claims all they can do is replace the tubes (something I was already doing myself). Without inspecting the damage himself, he proceeds to blame me for the leak and the damage it caused. Holding in my fury, I politely ask him to leave my house. I then call McDonald Plumbing again explaining that I have lost faith in their work and service and that I don't want any representative from they're company in my house again. All I want is a refund for the original work they did and I'll handle any repairs and insurance claims myself. Again, I can no longer trust their work. The service rep I spoke with tells me the only course of action I have is to let an employee from McDonalds pluming back into my house to inspect the damage. Again I explain this isn't happening, as I can't trust any decision making or work they perform. That's where we left it. All I asked for was a $200 refund for the bad work they did. At this point the amount of time they've spent and bad will they generated fighting me has probably cost them more than the measly $200 I'm asking for.
