  Affordable Heating Cooling & Plumbing Co

  After leaving a voicemail requesting availability for a furnace check-up/tune-up, my call was returned. The man asked if I needed certification by the city, to which I said I didn't. I have a home and just wanted to have the heater looked at, inspected, cleaned - like I do every year. The man proceeded to tell me that there is no such thing as a furnace tune-up or check-up; his exact words were "it's all a gimmick to get your money and get in the door to sell you other things." He then continued with the services they provided, but then mentioned, "Yeah, there's no such thing as a tune-up, I thought everybody knew that." (I've used several other companies in the for furnace inspection/check-up/tune-up and have never been unsold. They have usually provided feedback and let me know things to look out for/what to expect in the coming years with no pressure or follow-up sales gimmicks.) At that point, as he was about to continue, I thanked him, hung up my phone and blocked the number. I'm not an HVAC expert, so there's no need to be condescending.

  SUPREME AIR SYSTEMS

  Very well. I smelled gas in the house and called the local gas company. They identified a small leak in one of the fittings to my furnace. Having used Supreme Air in the past I made the call to use them. They arrived on time and quickly addressed the problem. In fact, they re-seated all the fittings around the furnace. Everything went well and fixed the problem. I will definitely use them again.

  Original A/C install was done by unlicensed installer, and was not up to code. After consulting with MDI, discovered that a great deal of work needed to be done. The MDI team provided good advice, and was able to complete the repair work within the time window that was quoted.

  Suburban Heating

  We had been thinking of replacing our old furnace and air conditioner for some time. We called Suburban Heating and Cooling and they went over our options and suggested we could go with an 80% efficient furnace because of our small home which saved us some money. We decided on a Bryant and we also replaced the humidifier on the furnace. We were able to keep our Space guard air cleaner. On the day of the installation the two man crew arrived on time and it took most of the day to remove and replace the old furnace and AC unit, which they took away, and replace the flue liner in the chimney. They tested the furnace and we were given instructions on how to maintain the furnace and humidifier. They were unable to test the AC because it was too cold but they said they would return in the spring to test it. They did return in the spring to test the AC. We told the serviceman about an issue we discovered when we tried to replace the filter in our air cleaner. Because the new furnace was smaller and shorter than our old one, the bottom of the gas line was in front of the air cleaner door. We could get the door off but it was difficult to take the filter case out to replace the filter. He solved the problem by putting in a new filter that did not require the plastic frame to hold the filter. It was the width of the frame that caused the issue. We were very pleased with the installation and the problem solving that addressed our issue. We have used Suburban Heating in the past and we will again because they have always provided good service and seem to care about their customers.

  Great from beginning to end. They arrived in time. Installed the new u it and removed the old furnace. Gave me the rebate forms to fill out and they filed them for me. Showed us how the new thermostat worked. Our new furnace workes great, our home is more evenly heated, we have a quad level. I will be calling them this spring for a new air conditioning quote.
