    Michigan Speedy Appliance Repair
Arrived 1.5 hours after the appointment time. The tech didn't really seem to know how to fix the machine, tried a few different things & we finally decided to order a new motor. When he left, he said the machine was fixed enough to use. It was not. We really made more progress googling the problem. Tech came back to install the motor a week later with a bad attitude. Installed the motor, played with the machine a bit, said it was fixed. Not 10 minutes later, I tried to run a load of laundry through. The machine stopped mid-cycle & would not restart. Needless to say, it was not fixed. Called the company - you rarely get a live person. Usually have to leave a voice mail & hope for a return call. Because the machine was clearly not fixed, we asked for a refund. We were told a month ago that it would be process and we would receive an email confirming the refund & details. Nothing. A couple weeks ago, we were told the refund would be processed, check in the mail on Monday. Nothing. Do not hire this company. Stay far, far away.

Our dishwasher would not run and the control panel did not light up. We called on November 8 and got an appointment for the following day. Mark came out during the window given and quickly diagnosed that there was a blown fuse. As we had an older model, the part did have to be ordered and came in over the weekend. On the 12th, Mark was back inside of the promised service window to replace the fuse and we now have a working appliance again.

First service call found the problem. Parts got ordered and came in a timely matter. Second call finished the job. The work was done well and within the stated time frame The work area was left clean and in good order. All is working fine again. Thank you.

When I made the appointment I explained in detail the problem (gas leak) and requested the dispatcher to make sure the repair include new flexible gas line hose. The dispatcher said that the service trucks always have those parts . When repairman came he did not have the hose and said he normally does not carry that part in his truck. He said he would have to reschedule. I needed the gas leak fixed asap so I had him do repair without the new hose I had requested. This issue could have been avoided if the dispatcher had noted on the work order that I wanted a replacement flex hose. I have been using Family Heating for 25 years and this is the first time I have been less than happy with their service.

I have a contract with them, some type of insurance policy. If it's something to do with my heating and AC, I have something set up where they come out and fix it for free. The price is included in my monthly payments.

Excellent. I was in a bind because we had sold our house and the washer was included in the sale so it needed to be fixed before we moved in 4 days. They were extremely understanding and made it over the same day. Even though the service was great the technician was a good person too. He allowed my 4 year old to stand there and ask questions, help with holding tools and look at the repairs as he worked. So awesome when you find people like this that take pride in what they do and how they do it.

this is an addendum to my previous post--all of which is still true, but I just received a written apology from a manager of Bill and Rods and a check for $10.  Because of this I have upcoded my ratings.  Having management acknowledge the problem and apologize for the issues goes far in my book.  Still not sure if I'd use their services again, but this gesture does show me that someone over there is a professional and cares about customer satisfaction.

Ok, I know my garbage disposal probably needed to be replaced, and I also had the guy look at my washing machine that was shaking.  And I also know service calls aren't cheap, that's not the issue.  The problem first started when I call for appt.and they couldn't give me a definite one on the day I first ask for so I had to cancel.  I rescheduled and specifically asked for an afternoon appt, and then called a second time with make and model of washing machine and again repeated that I needed an afternoon appt--the the guy said that should be no problem.  Well, on the morning of the appt.they called in the morning (as they said they would) and told me the guy would be out between 9 am and 12--I don't know where they are from (Australia maybe?), but here in Michigan 9 am is not and never has been considered "afternoon".  I explained that to person on the phone they just restated that that was the schedule.  I said ok, but I was in Ann Arbor at the moment and it would take me at least 30 mins. to drive home from there.  She offered to have repair guy call me 30 mins.before he was to arrive.  So, you guessed it, he called at almost exactly 9 am (if I was waiting at home for him he probably wouldn't have gotten there until 12--lol).  I then booked it from AA and got there within 30 mins and he was waiting there (he said he just got there).  Hi looked at disposal for about 5 mins and said because it was leaking at reset button it couldn't be fixed and had to be replaced.  He then went downstairs and luckily all the washing machine needed was to have the legs adjusted--which took another 10 mins or so.  He gave me the bill and I wrote a check for $70 apprx. and he said he'd order the disposal and I asked how much it would be and he said around $100 --I priced disposals and the ones I looked at were around $80.  To be fair, I did tell him to order it but after he left I was thinking--he was at my house for 15 mins for freakin sake.  He could have gone to Home Depot or Lowes or Menards and gotten a disposal (it's not like they are custom built machines for heaven's sake) come back, installed it and still have only taken maybe 1.5 hrs.  So, I decided to order one from Amazon (was only $75) and have a friend install it.  The topper is I got a call this morning from Bill and Rods saying part was in--I told them I didn't need it as I order on myself and hung up.  Then I got a call back saying they would have to charge me $20 for ordering the part that I wasn't going to use.  I didn't argue, I just told then "fine, but I would never every use their service again"  $20 really?  Again, it's not like I ordered a custom made purple with green stripe sofa that no one else in their right mind would want and then told them "nevermind".  I'm sure someone in the tri-county area will need a garbage disposal of that make sometime in the next month or so.  So, I'd advise everyone to avoid this company inless you enjoy getting fleeced.

I was impressed with the person who answered the phone- he had me scheduled for Saturday but said he would keep my number with him and call if there were any cancellations for Friday. On Friday, I was called and they could get me in. They came within the hour and the serviceman knew what was wrong with my fridge right away. It was short and easy. I also appreciated he was friendly with my nosy cat.

After looking at the stove he concluded it needed a new ignitor. After asking the year of the stove and if it was worth spending the money, he was very honest with me and suggested I put the money towards a new stove. The stove is about 15 years old and the ignitor was about half the price of what a new stove would cost. He did not try and push me to spend more money to try and repair an already old stove that may not last too much longer anyway.

As far as the washer, I asked if he could put a longer hose on it where the water drains out since it was shooting water all around my utility sink and washing machine. He was able to find something in his van that could be used as an extension and at no charge.
