  • Returned initial call within 24 hours and was out the next day to look at the project.  Completed within time frame I had and did an excellent job.  Responded to all communications with questions within 24 hours, also. Friendly and pleasant.

  • my lamp was a hurricane lamp that my grandfather had converted to electric from oil. The guys at Bohnet had to do some "creative" work to get it wired to operate 3-way and without worry.  They were about as tickled with the lamp' old wiring system as I am pleased with the new. not that I think they overcharged---i'm just a penny-pincher. (kinda hurts to spend on things I COULD go without sometimes)

  • I have them one time and they did a great job. Oasis solved the problem. They came out there and in the attic there was some two things that were on the quote that was making the furnace quite inefficient and they fixes for me for reasonable amount. Oasis fixed the problem on my energy thing. They were fine, great and reasonable. They were not real punctual but they were very reasonable and they were very efficient. They were good. He finally came out and they fixed it and it was reasonable and then solved the problems.

  • They were fast and convenient. They had a pretty good pricing. They work with payments if one can't afford anything right away for any repairs or buying instruments. They allow making payments on consignment and they also do instrument rental. They work with a lot of the schools.

  • Of several 'A' rated handymen services on Angie's List that I initially called, Marty responded to my call very promptly (note: some services on this list never even returned my call). He was very flexible and worked with my schedule because I had to travel about 1.5 hours to the property. He put together an estimate of the initial work that needed to be done and stuck to the estimate even though several of the projects took longer than he first thought after getting into them. He started the work only a couple of days after we discussed the estimate and worked on things steadily, getting everything completed in a timely manner. Because I wasn't present to see what was happening on a daily basis (the house was empty at the time), he called me periodically to update me on how things were progressing. He did a walk through with me after all the work was completed to make sure everything was to my satisfaction (it was). He had done some work that I had originally asked to get an estimate for, but then indicated I did not want to go ahead with. He realized that when writing up the invoice and did not charge me for it (it was a $250 estimated project).
After the new tenants moved in, they noticed several additional things that needed repairs. I called Marty and he went over and addressed all the concerns within a couple of days. When he was there working, the tenant accidentally locked the bedroom door with her dog locked inside. The tenants were alarmed and Marty helped them to get the door open, and later replaced the door hardware to a non-locking unit at no charge. The dishwasher was leaking and he did some things that stopped the leaking when he ran a cycle after the repair, but it continued to leak when not running. He was able to narrow down the possible problem from the new symptoms and what he had done, and returned to address those things. It then worked great and saved me from having to replace the unit! I had asked him to look at a dryer that had a tub that was not turning, but he said he was not as updated on dryer repair as others would be, so recommended another service provider that had more experience with dryers.
Overall, Marty was easy to work with and did great (and varied) work. I will use him again and am really happy to have found a reliable, knowledgeable handyman to help with my rental property.

  • While we worked,I learned about other work that Jessica has done, including dog and house sitting.  My dog is a terrier type recent rescue that tends to be very vocal and protective of me and her house.  I have never seen her take so quickly and completely to a "stranger."  I'm VERY picky about leaving my dog with anyone, but am confident that if I need to, I would be fine with leaving my beloved girl with Jessica.I would happily hire Jessica again any of a number of the services she provides.

  • .Asked to repair fitting on handle bar, a spoke on bicycle wheel and true up the wheel. Estimated repair time one week. After two weeks repair still not done. Picked up bike after waiting  21/2 weeks. When I got the bike home found out the bike wheel had not been repaired at all. Will never go back.

  • I have a four-year old Samsung 40" LCD HDTV, and the other day when I turned it on, its power light lit up for a second then went off. It did this on-off cycle for a few minutes, and then the TV finally turned on. Over the next few days, this behavior persisted. This morning I turned the TV on, and nothing happened. Several minutes later, the TV started the same "on-off" cycle, and after several more minutes, the TV magically turned on and stayed on. A new TV is *not* in my budget right now, and I recalled seeing a commercial for a tv repair company where they come to the home. Of course I hadn't written the info down, so I searched Angie's List. And sure enough, when I called TV Den, Larry said he did in-home service. I'm in IT and build my own computers, and from the TV's behavior, I figured it was the power supply. I was doubtful that it was really worth fixing the TV, but I thought I'd check it out, as there's a $35 trip charge only there's no repair work done. Larry said he'd be at my home between 11 and 1 today. Larry showed up just a few minutes after 11 and opened up the TV. Sure enough, there were two bulging capacitors on the power supply. Larry replaced them with higher-voltage capacitors and the TV powered up just fine. My TV was fixed in about 20 minutes, and for a whole lot less than the cost of a new TV. Further, I didn't have to get help to load it into the car, drive it somewhere and wait a week to get it fixed. TV Den also guarantees the repair for one year. I'm very pleased with TV Den's service!

  • Ellen Daniels is 1/2 of a husband/wife music team. Ellen teaches piano, while her husband Dave teaches oboe. Ellen has been my daughter and my piano teacher for a few months now and we are extremely pleased with the results of her instruction. Although I have played the piano in the past, I have not practiced in many years and was basically starting out as a beginner again. My daughter, who is 6, is a beginner and was interested in playing the piano as well. When I first contacted Ellen, she was very quick to respond to all of my questions and soon provided my daughter and I with our complimentary first lesson. She was also very willing to travel to our home, which is outside of her normal boundaries, and has proven herself to be very accommmodating over the last several months. Ellen's teaching is superb. She is an excellent communicator, and really tailors her teaching and style toward the individual. I cannot recommend her enough. She is a hidden gem in the East Lansing area. If you are in the East Lansing / Lansing area; interested in playing the piano and looking for someone with all of the best qualities of teaching, I recommend you look no further. She is terrific! • Louis is talented, has a couple decades of experience teaching, and is precise. He has to stay that way, as he competes with a student or two of his at national competitions. His wife is also a dancer, and their son competes and is starting to teach too. So there's no lack of enthusiasm and talent there. We've had fine success with the group lessons. Louis teaches a wide range of ballroom lessons, mostly whatever the group is interested in getting into next. They have a new, large, very nice floating wood dance floor. We are horrible at finding time to practice our lesson material. It helps that they have an open dance floor available for a couple of hours every Friday night. I'd much rather practice there than look like a fool on a public floor somewhere.
