Quality of work was excellent.  Once he started the job, everything went well.  The only negative was that it took him quite a few weeks to start the job once we signed a contract with him.  A lot of the problem had to do with all the rainy days.

David Nelson is a very professional fellow.  He listened to the needs that I had to cover a cracked concrete front stoop and one step with Ohio Blue flagstone to match a walkway that was recently added.  When I first contracted with him his work schedule was such that he couldn't start for about 4 weeks.  He gave me a very fair quote and a 50% payment was made.  Although David was 3-4 days late in starting, he had accessional rationale.  Once he got started, he battled a terrible scourge of mosquitos and a very rainy week to get the work done.
I was unhappy with how recessed one stone in the center of the top step was.  I mentioned it to him and he professionally corrected the stone to my satisfaction.  He is very kind, soft-spoken, professional and conscientious.

    Excellent service.
He answered my call instantly and came to my place within 2 hours.
He did an excellent job of filling the gaps between the cinder blocks in my crawl space.

Dave Nelson failed to complete the work.  Shortly after cashing my check for deposit, he began to make excuses for delays.  He originally told me it would take a day and a half to complete the work.  As of this writing, seven weeks have elapsed.  When he started the job, he removed some bricks for replacement as contracted to do.  For nearly two weeks, however, my house had holes due to missing bricks because Mr. Nelson did not replace the bricks with new or used ones in a timely manner.  He said he was searching for bricks even though when hired he told me he had matching bricks.  After several phone calls and text messages, he finally returned to fill in the holes with bricks.  But a couple bricks were mortared into place even though they were recessed and not flushed with the foundation.  Plus, the mortar is not consistent in color and even covers over part of the bricks in a noticeably sloppy condition.  I contacted Mr. Nelson about the problem and he said he would come back to fix it as well as to complete the other work.  He never did.  I am now faced with suing Mr. Nelson for breach of contract and hiring someone to repair and complete the work.

UPDATE: David Nelson cashed my check for deposit but did not perform the contract.  After posting a complaint on 10/29/13, Mr. Nelson agreed to return my deposit following the company's poor workmanship on my house.  However, Mr. Nelson again, did not keep his word and has neither returned my deposit nor fulfilled the work as contracted to do.  Mr. Nelson did sloppy brickwork by not leveling some bricks or centering with the correct mortar to brick ratio.  Mr. Nelson had the audacity to ask me to remove my complaint from Angie's List in exchange for money.  For months, Mr. Nelson has not ameliorated the shoddy work his company has done.

Showed up when they said they would, performed work flawlessly and they were professional. They estimated the time it would take and they were exact. I will use them again as I rehab homes and need someone like this whom I can trust for doing the job right the first time on all types of Masonry.

Dave is very straightforward to work with.  I got a quote from him in August, and after dragging my feet for about a month, I called him to give him the go-ahead, and to my surprise he came over that evening to get started.  When I came home from work the next day, I had new concrete.  There were a few clean up issues that were dealt with the next morning.  Overall everything was very good.  The reason I marked professionalism as a B is that a couple of our landscape lights were smashed at some point during the job.  After a little negotiating, Dave subtracted $20 off our bill to compensate, which seemed reasonable, but I still have to fix/replace those lights.

Chris is a great guy and his crew did a marvelous job....once they started the job.  He had to reschedule the job three different times due to other work they were finishing and that got a bit frustrating.  Don't get me wrong, I'd hire him again and highly recommend him, just be sure to push the communication.

Scheduling was initially delayed by spring rains and I thought rescheduling could have done quicker.  However, once the job was started they finished within two days - as quickly as they possibly could given the cement had to cure a day before the job could be finished.

The crew was very professional and friendly and the finished job was exactly as bid plus a little more.  A little more - they reset the railing and leveled and set the steps going to the porch.  I would use them again.

They were also willing to do this small job where as several others didn't submit a bid or submitted an extremely high bid.

Alpha and Omega Chimney had extremely reasonable price. They did an excellent job. I talked to them about other issues that I had and they gave me suggestions. They are very professional. They even pointed out somethings about my fireplace chimney which was good and they also cleaned my chimney and made some recommendations. The person who first came out, I think he got a little impatient with me. I know he got a tight schedule but at the same time I think it was partially me, but even then, he has to maintain professionalism. I am a demanding, time consuming customer.

The estimate from Perry and Perry, Inc. was one of three that I solicited..  Their estimate and one other were in the same price range and both agreed on the method to solve my leaking foundation problem.  Jon Perry quoted me a complete job that included some additional work to repair a basement window and replace with cement block and glass block.  The other company did not and would have forced me to hire an additional person to repair the window area.
Jon Perry and his crew were very efficient - starting the job on Wedensday of this week and had the work done by Thursday at 2 PM. He arranged for MISS DIG to also stake out the utilities as well as any permits. They checked the cement block for trapped water, checked and repair the drainage tile, including adding some new tile, sealed the wall with a rubberized coating and attached a stand-off barrier to keep the dirt away from destroying the integrety of the rubberized coating.  They added new drainage pea stone, and then backfilled to leave a proper grade on both sides of the house.  Their cleanup was excellent, and they protected plants on my property as well as my neighbors.
This job was particularly tricky because they had to negotiate and dig around all of my gas, electric. telephone and cable fiber optic  cable lines.  They also had to content with a large tree and its root system.  They were extremely careful with all of this and had no incidents.  One can tell that his workers are well trained and were very respectful of my property and removed outdoor shoes whenever they entered the house to work on the wall on the inside.
Even though Jon provided me with a quote for refinishing the inside wall, he was most willing to share information about products  as well as techniques to use to do the work myself.  He even provided me with some product to do some of the disinfecting to kill any possible mold.
The job was just done and we have not had any rain to see how if the job was a success.  I am certain that the job will be a success.
The bottom line is that I recommend Perry and Perry, Inc. for any work that you need done related to basement waterproofing and masonry work.  They treat your place as if it were their own.   Thanks, Jon, Matt and your crew!
