They helped with color selection and were very accommodating on finishing the work before the deadline. On top of it all Ryan, Trudy and Chase worked around us as both of us work from home. I would recommend this company to anyone looking for a quality company that does exactly and more than what they say they are going to do. Finally, the quality of their work was outstanding. Ryan has earned our trust over the years and is our go to for all painting and deck staining at our home. He is honest, responsive, and the team does high quality work. For some of the early projects, I got multiple bids and Ryan's price was always reasonable. Now I just get a bid for budgeting purposes as I know it will be a fair price for the work completed. The latest project took 5 days to complete and included patch work as well as painting the walls, trim, doors and ceiling. I was indecisive about paint color and Trudy & Ryan worked with me to narrow down my choices. They were also able to accommodate a last minute decision to paint the cabinets on one of my bathrooms. AHALM & PERKINS, LLCThere wasn’t one thing that we didn’t enjoy and appreciate about hiring Halm & Perkins to do a complete renovation of our East Lansing condo. Joe and Lisa and their entire team were very professional and thoughtful and went above and beyond to help us with every detail. Originally, we were anxious about being able to find people that we could trust to create a design and suggest ideas that would work best for us and the space. From the first interview meeting Joe & Lisa our fears were assuaged and we liked them immediately. They made the entire process from start to finish easy. Both Joe and Lisa even got my husband’s quirky sense of humor and ran with it, keeping us all laughing. We did not expect to have so much fun with a renovation! We appreciated how well they listened to our ideas and questions and they never let us feel that anything we thought or asked was silly or stupid, communicating often with us via text, calls or emails and directing us to websites for ideas or clarification as needed. Joe and Lisa are a great team and often when we were stuck on a decision one of them would come through with photos or thoughts that helped what the other was suggesting so that we could understand. They both did a fantastic job guiding us through the myriad of decisions that were needed, or choosing something for us when we asked them to do so. They came up with ideas we would not have thought of like bricking some of the walls and we are so pleased with how that, and other ideas we trusted them with, turned out. We asked for more storage space and they made sure we had that in every room with ways we could not have thought up ourselves. We wanted more light in the combined kitchen-living area and they exceeded our expectations in providing that in new ways. We had some dreams we weren’t sure were feasible, like making room for a two person jacuzzi tub and they made it happen, thanks to Joe’s expertise and Lisa’s design ideas. When they didn’t know the answers they had experts to consult. I often felt like we were on an episode of HGTV’s “Fixer Upper” with Chip & Joanna Gaines. We now walk into our condo and have happy sighs that we get to live here. Thanks, Joe & Lisa and the whole Halm & Perkins team!- Marjorie S.

Weather is not always a painter's friend but Dale worked very hard to make sure that my house looked great and the color was exactly what I had hoped for. His crew were professional and courteous. FQuick to underbid everyone and responsive at first. I had wanted to do the porch first since it was covering portions of the outside that needed to be painted. That wasn't accomplished. They give you a quote and then pitch it to a 3rd party whom you never speak with. They failed to paint as directed and cost me additional supplies because they kept painting the sections the wrong colors. They failed to mention what might be needed to complete the job and even though I asked several times on the second day what might be needed from me the next day so I could make arrangements, never thought to mention that my front door had to stay open for a few hours which I could have planned for with any warning other than minutes before and after I was already at work. They left a mess and came back to only blow off debris on my porch leaving my deck and yard looking like a junk yard. They quoted a cement job far less than others and promised to complete it this year. Only to do the paint job first which I asked them not to do which they assured me would not be problem. Now they claim they quote me a price that would lose them money. I've even offered to work with them but they have decided to ignore me. My house now has a paint job which isn't bad but was not done to the very simple directions we gave and has incomplete portions on the face of it. We were given the excuse that he had to pay them hourly but never acknowledged how much time was wasted due to a lack of commutation with me and their 3rd party crew. My porch will now not be done until next year by another company which means I get to start the whole process over again. Very disappointed. Gave them ample opportunity to make this right. Was upset that they couldn't honor their bid and was even willing to meet them halfway or all the way, just to be ignored and now I highly doubt they ever finish repairing the issues they left with the paint job, which I already paid for. Very deceiving and unprofessional. I never once was rude towards any of them and am very frustrated and upset by their inability to communicate and honor their word. I got the bid at the end of August and still haven't gotten a sincere answer from them since they took my money for the paint job.

CSee prior review. Response was not factually correct. We had a firm contractual deadline imposed on us which we repeatedly communicated to them. On the contractual completion date, the buildings were not even prepped, much less primed- much less painted They actively solicited this job- we said no and then they reached out via email- if they couldn’t complete the job they shouldn’t have solicited it or taken it. We are not trying to “hurt” anyone, but we don’t think it’s fair to allow potential customers to be hurt by not getting a fair picture of how they did business on this particular occasion. Maybe it was an anomaly but we have no way to know that.

AThese guys were awesome from Day 1! Had a relatively small painting project. Most painting companies were not interested. A couple of them (highly recommended to me by the paint store) quoted me over the phone without seeing the project, And, told me I would have to wait until their "slow" time (several months away) before they could begin the work. . Saumier called and e-mailed me and stayed in touch throughout the duration of the project. They actually came out to my house. Spent a lot of time with me and came up with some great suggestions I ended up incorporating into the job. The actual paint work was meticulous and there was no mess to clean up. I highly recommend these guys. Very nice people--comfortable to work with.
