Hager Fox Heating & Air Conditioning Co
Called and they would not stand behind the warranty "Planned Service Agreement" for our furnace that is less than 10 years old. We were suppose to have priority service on Weekends, Nights, etc. I even found an invoice from them in 2015 on a Sunday, that states that.

Hager Fox Heating & Air Conditioning Co
Customer service staff were friendly and quick to schedule the service call over the phone. HVAC tech was on-time, friendly, and explained what he was doing. Invoice/receipt included the safety check information needed by the City of Lansing. Easy-peasy. Price was competitive. Will use again.

    A-OK MECHANICAL
Two year old AC unit and the compressor went. Luckily, the thing was still under warranty. The owner told me that they deal with warranties all the time, no problem. Over a year later and I still have not gotten reimbursed for the part. Why? Because A-OK Mechanical never sent the part in to the manufacturer. But they won't admit this. Every time I contacted them, they told me they'd look into, that the manufacturer was giving them the run around, etc. So I call the manufacturer who says they never received the defective part. They tell me to call the parts distributor because A-OK would have had to send the part to them first and then they would have sent the part to the manufacturer. Distributor can confirm that A-OK ordered the part from them but never returned a defective part. I asked A-OK three times to send me their paperwork that shows they sent the part in. They now will not respond to me. I'm out $600 because of their incompetency. Oh, and my AC still doesn't work. Because they only diagnosed half the problem. Stay away from this company.

    All Star Mechanical
Larry is the one of the best contractors I have ever dealt with. I have had All Star out to my house three times over the past couple years, Larry is honest, does great work and is extremely trustworthy. Installed a new AC in our house, showed me all the model options to choose from, and recommended the least expensive unit, as he said it was all our home needed. Very honest!

    All Star Mechanical
Our furnace failed in the evening and I called All Weather Mechanical. Bill came right out and determined the heat exchanger was shot. He was willing to replace the heat exchanger in the old furnace but it was over 20 years old so we decided on a new furnace. The next morning he returned with a new furnace and had us up in running in about four hours. Bill showed up when he said he would and was knowledgable and professional. We are pleased with his work and the price he gave us and would recommend him for your HVAC needs.

    NORTH WINDS HEATING AND COOLING
Terribly. I made the mistake of signing up for the company's maintenance service. Don't make the same mistake. Once North Winds has your money, it doesn't care to provide good service. I had annual contracts with them for about 3 years. The first year, the guy showed up to check my furnace and didn't bother to bring the filter with him. I had to go to North Winds' office to get it myself and install it. Replacing the filter is part of the service that is covered by the maintenance "deal." Last December, I scheduled the first appointment in the morning and specifically told the scheduler that I had a meeting following the appointment time. She reassured me that even if he showed up at the end of the window all would be fine. On the appointed day, the guy who was to come out called me to say he wasn't going to be able to make the time because "he had an emergency." I told him about my meeting, and his emergency got resolved somehow. He showed up and, once again, didn't have the filter needed for the humidifier on my furnace. He showed me how to replace it, but I forgot and decided it was best to have someone come out. Even though filters are covered by my maintenance "deal," I was charged $100 for the call. I contacted North Winds and spoke with Tracy Archer. She promised to get back to me the next day about the $100 charge. She did not. I e-mailed her, using an e-mail that she had sent to me so it should not have gone into a spam folder. No answer. About two weeks ago, I scheduled the regular service on my AC. Instead of a 2-hour window, I now got a 3-hour window from 9 am to noon. At noon, no service technician and no phone call. I called the office and some young woman said "you're next on the list." I told her I had to go to work and she asked whether I wished to reschedule. Really? No apology. She acted as if I can just sit around in my house all day waiting for North Winds to deign to show up. I told her I wanted a refund of both the $100 and the portion of the maintenance contract that covered my AC inspection. She said she "would look into it" and hurried me off the phone. Never heard another word. Find another company to do business with. This place will take your money and not do what is promised. The people on the phone talk "nice" but they do not follow up and do their jobs. Now I have to pursue the company for a refund, because I was foolish enough to enter into a contract and pay the company in advance.

Aspen One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning
I was told that my furnace was most likely leaking carbon monoxide due to a cracked heat exchanger and it needed to be replaced immediately. I was given a quote of around $4500. I had another hearing and cooling company come out to check on it through the Consumers Energy Appliance Service Plan the next day. I was told that the heat exchanger in my furnace would take a hammer hitting it and probably still not crack. A CO test was done by them and there wasnt a trace of CO in my home. Both Consumers Energy and the company that came out feel that I was being scammed into buying a new furnace. When I called the owner of Aspen, he was very rude from the minute I answered the phone. I will never do business with them his company again.

NORTH WINDS HEATING & COOLING INC
All components installed were Trane except for Nexia thermostat. This review covers the period from the initial purchase to both the installation and the first annual maintenance inspection. We were very pleased with all facets of North Winds involvement in the purchase, installation and follow up activity. Russ Kesterson of North Winds and Jeff Kelly of Lowe's came to our home and explained the various systems available - based on Russ's explanation, I felt very comfortable with the purchase we made - Russ's is extremely knowledgeable of both heating and air conditioning systems and components and has exceptional communication skills. I have had occasions to contact Russ both before and after the installation with questions and he was always responsive and able to answer all questions to my satisfaction. The installation of the equipment was outstanding - the men were very professional and thorough in their work. The equipment has been operating very well for over a year without any issues. This past September, North Winds did the annual inspection of our new equipment - again, they were very thorough - very professional job. Based upon my experience with North Winds, I would recommend them to anyone needing new heating or air conditioning systems - I consider North Winds to be the best in this business.

    Jenks Brothers Heating & Plumbing
After 2 repair visits by another company when both repair people "man-splained" and didn't fix the problem, I called Jenks. They came out the same day (12/22/17) and left only after the problem was completely fixed. The repair person was great! He was very respected and was a good listener. He quickly diagnosed the problem that the others had missed. The cost of the repair was very reasonable. As a result my furnace is now fully functioning and heating my house better than ever! I strongly recommend them!
