  • The project involved renovating a 120 year old farmhouse. There were many unforeseen issues due to the age and condition of the structure but they were able to navigate those problems and came up with quality, alternate solutions that were reasonably priced. We are extremely please with the outcome.

  • Deluxe was booked pretty heavy in the spring but they came in late May (which he estimated it would be in March). Once they started they worked this job exclusively until they were finished. Upon Dave's recommendation, he had all the paint remixed to provide more contrast of the trim to the siding and it came out beautifully. They also took care a few minor, non-painting issues we were very happy with. My wife and I were very happy with them and consider the price and service an excellent value. We hope to use them again for some interior work.

  • He never completed the mudding of three bedrooms. He didn't cmplete ANY bedroom! He butchered my bushes and tree. I had one tree about 12ft high, 10ft. wide in the front yard. When he was done hacking it, it looks like a tall skinny bush. My idea (and most others as well) would view trimming as removing dead, unwanted, overgrown, uneven branches and twigs. Trimming in my mind is about 10, maybe 15% removal of unwanted growth. He cut down about 80% of an adult tree in my front lawn. He left the debris from ALL the yard work on my front lawn only to kill the grass. The $500.00 did include hauling away the debris. We meet near my work and I paid him without seeing the work. Big mistake!
Every time this guy spoke was a lie. Ex. I'll be there at such and such date. I'll finish on this date, etc. I also paid him to remove tile in the house - same BS. Didn't start on time - didn't finish on time. I would highly recommend not to deal with this person. He is a white male in his mid 30's, about 5"9" and drives a white van with his name on the van. I found him on Craigslist.

  • Bill, salesman, came out to our home today to give an estimate on blown in insulation and the doorwall. First estimate he gave was almost $12,000 for insulation and $6700 for doorwall. After we told him that we were going to discuss it and think about it he lowered the price to $12,000 including the doorwall and only have to put $1500 down to lock in the price.  We told him again we wanted to discuss this and would contact him if we decided to use them. He then called "his boss" to update him on the where we stood. After his phone call he provided another estimate that was too good to be true (based on 1st estimate); $6500 on insulation and $2770 on doorwall with $1000 down.  We told Bill again that we would like to think about this and get back with him. He basically gave us an all or nothing pitch; you either take this price I am giving you now or I will not return do complete any of the work. He practically huffed and puffed out the door because we decided NOT to sign on the line TODAY. He said that we needed to stop wasting people's time by getting estimates. He was so rude.

****Update: Yesterday (4/17/14) I received a phone call from IES stating they wanted to "make it up to me" by giving me two complimentary airline tickets to be used at anytime or to any place. I asked him how he knew about our situation and he didn't provide a convincing statement as to how he knew we didn't get treated right. That sounded fishy to me.  Jon V said he was a follow up manager and would also give us another 10% off the estimate.  He said Mitch (Principal owner) would be coming out to the house to give us the estimate.  I asked for the contractor number so I could look them up. Jon V could not provide that information to me and said Mitch would bring all credentials and complimentary items to our house.  My husband and I discussed it and decided that it still sounded shady and we did not want them at our house again. ****

  • Jacob's Ladder came to give an estimate. It was a small job and they stated their price and said they could complete it in 30 minutes. The price was less than half of the other two estimates. It was done correctly and on time. The two workers were competent and friendly. I will use the company for other things around the house.

  • Quote was for all materials and labor, so there were no surprises. They called ahead, came when they promised, and worked with us on scheduling around our farm schedule with horses. They power washed the barn one day, and primed and painted two days later. The paint job included brown trim on a tan barn, and it looks beautiful. They were very neat: not a scrap of paper, masking tape, spilled paint, etc. anywhere when they finished.
They painted metal barn roofs for me last year (power washed, primed, painted), including one roof with about a dozen translucent skylights (which they cleaned and masked to avoid getting paint on them). I plan to have them paint a larger metal barn next year (approximately 60 feet x 160 feet).

  • Bryer completed the work in a very timely fashion in hot and humid conditions. Bryer is also involved in industrial work in locations with demanding safety and procedural requirements. Bryer company also does roofing work. Would suggest them for projects such as mine as they have extensive experience and knowledge.

  • I told their salesman exactly what I was looking for and they said "Fine, we can do that no problem". They sent someone out to do the estimate. I asked them about some of the repairs for the siding and they then said "oh we don't do that". I said that "Well I talked to your salesman. I said that specifically we needed a couple of the boards underneath the siding and she assured me that they could do that. Now you're saying you can't? Goodbye".

  • He did the work in 1 day - done about 7:30p.  He had a crew with him and they all worked together very well and cleaned up very well also.  They had all the materials they needed, so they didn't need to go anywhere.
