FMajor ConstructionFound through Home Advisor - said we needed leaf removal. Christopher B. showed up an hour latter ready to give estimate. During this process he said he also did tree trimming and removal. We talked to him about this service in addition to leaf removal. Said for $2000 he could do trimming of all trees and removal of one tree with leaf removal. Said he needed $1000 deposit to secure job. We wrote check, he left saying he would be in touch to set date for the following week. Cashed check within 15 minutes, we never heard from him about scheduling date. We texted - got him to committee to doing job week of Nov 15, 2020. Never showed up never called. We called him - supposedly had a problem getting equipment from rental (when we talked he owned all his own equipment) he said he'd get equipment next week - no calls, no texts, jobs still not complete. We followed up - no equipment was available, but broken. That went on for another week. Then we went another week with no contact and no job. Threatened to sue in small claims court - that got a response. But now he was sick and couldn't do the job. Gave us these excuses time and time again over and and over - but job was never done. Finally four weeks after we engaged him his team game to do leaf removal, but didn't finish job. Took them another week an half to finish that job, but was not done right, only half assed. Tree trimming and tree removal was never done - no he was having gallbladder removed and couldn't get anyone hired and again excuse after excuse. We ask for refund - he plead poverty and said he had no money. All we wanted was a refund of $850 since we did get a partial leaf clean up. But he has stopped responding to texts and emails. Home Advisor has removed - we are asking you to do the same.- Kevin L.

AThe Scrappy Trash ManWe had some decorative grass that we cut down and bagged. The local waste disposal service cost for a small number of bags encouraged me to look at other options. We found The Scrappy Trash Man on Facebook and contacted him to pickup the 13 bags of yard waste. He was prompt, friendly, helpful and conscientious. The bags were in our garage and he loaded each in his truck, then he unprompted swept the garage floor of the debris that had fallen and took that away too. Great guy, easy to work with by phone or text message. Is a local firemen doing this work as a side business. Would definitely recommend.- Troy M.

AJeff's Lawn and GardenWe've used Jeff's Lawn and Garden for the past five years. We initially started with lawn-mowing occasionally when we were out of town. We were so happy with the pricing and results that we have him do all of our lawn work and occasional snow removal. Jeff does our fall clean-up each year and occasional landscape work as needed. He is prompt, professional, courteous, and above all, reliable! One thing Jeff does that stands out over other service-providers is that he's very proactive. He'll ask us if we'd like a second fall cleanup after more leaves have fallen, for example. We appreciate the frequent communication and prompt service.- Krista B.

AJeff's Lawn and GardenThis guy is amazing. He does an absolutely outstanding job. We just bought a new house that is in a very woody and forested area. The old landscaping and leaves were not upkept for a couple of years. He came in picked up some of the leaves we raked up, then him and his guys with their blowers came in like an army and totally cleaned everything up. He even made sure the street where his trailer was parked was free of leaves. He's coming back to do mulching in a couple of weeks. I will use this guy without in the future without question. DWe were very unhappy with the service. He originally quoted us at $40 a week, and said he would occasionally have to double mow which would incur additional costs. However, he started charging us for double mowing every single week. My husband noticed that he wasn't double mowing at all, and then confronted Randy, to which he admitted that he falsely charged us for the additional service due to the fact that he felt we were located too far away for his work; thus charging us for his quote/unquote "inconvenience."
