    I went to Pearle Vision in Crossroads Mall to have my glasses adjusted, which turned out to be a huge mistake. After much pulling and twisting, the nose piece cracked and later fell off. I went back in to get a replacement, it was ordered, but after it came in 10 days later, it wasn���t the right part. I was told to wait for several more days to see if they could find something in the back room of a different store, and I was promised that the manager (Cindy, who never seems to be there) would call me. They never got back to me about the results of their search, and needless to say, the manager never called. The staff, led by Cathy, displayed sheer indifference, defensiveness, rudeness, and unresponsiveness. Customer service is a foreign word to this office. I should explain that I am legally blind, and that I strongly depend on my glasses to see much of anything. This was patiently explained to the staff, and that we are about to leave on a trip. Knowing that their incompetence was about to leave me without glasses for the duration, there was never an offer or even a mention of a replacement pair, or even a loaner. I was directly told that action of any sort was impossible without Cindy���s approval, and she was conveniently absent and unreachable. Please note that glasses purchased here, as mine were less than three years ago, can neither be repaired nor replaced if they are more than one year old. You have been warned. Our bad experience boggles the mind. Never, ever go to this store.

    I had a pair of glasses that didn't work well. David Dueweke, the owner of Dobbs Optical, did a thorough eye exam. He was patient and checked my eyes with traditional methods and re-checked my eyes with a computer-assisted system. Both came out virtually identical. He talked to me about the history of my eyes and my corrections. He made two new pairs of glasses, a pair of reading glasses and a pair of regular glasses. They are the best glasses I ever had. It is exactly what I needed.

    During the exam, I was advised of several abnormalities that were found and what to expect as the conditions progress. I'm quite pleased with my new "every day" glasses AND the optician was able to match them with a pair of clip-on polarized sunglasses. I thought the latter a bit pricey, but certainly less expensive than prescription sunglasses. Both pairs of glasses were ready for pickup within 10 days as promised, and just in time for my road trip!

    His comments concerning my facial features were rude.  I checked with other clients and they noted this as well.   And, he's overpriced.  If you want interesting frames and kind service, one can certainly go elsewhere.

    They're awesome. I have been using them for probably 30 years. It was all good. They are very punctual. They're friendly. They just run a really good office. I'd give them A's. I just like the office. I've always like the doctors that are down there.

    I need lenses for my very expensive and fully functional flexi-frames. The (Very nice) person I spoke with said they could do them but there was a possibility they won't fit the frame properly. She was adamant that I would have to pay for them even if they didn't fit. I won't do business with any company that won't stand behind it's work so I turned around and left.

    The staff was friendly and professional. Important for patients to know is that the equipment used is state-of-the-art, and also that the lab used to make glasses is one of the best in western Michigan. People don't often think about where the lenses come from, or the craftsman ship of and quality of the lens used is very important to one's ultimate vision through one's glasses.
    Just because the optical office owns their own lab and can make glasses more cheaply does not translate into better vision.
    The doctor reviewed a visual field test with me, and actually listened to the vision problems I was experiencing. If all you want is cheap glasses, don't go there. If you want someone to really care about your eyes and provide you with high quality lenses to give you high quality vision...this is the office for you! It took me a couple of months to get in, but it was worth the wait.

    The company was friendly, knowledgeable, and courteous. I did have to go back due to issues with my progressive lenses. They replaced them immediately. The progressive sun glasses my husband purchased were fine but the distance on the regular glasses were not perfect. He has been wearing them consistently to get used to them as there is a no refund policy. I would go back, my husband would not.

    All services were performed at the Portage location. The eye exam was prompt and thorough. Selecting and getting fitted for new glasses was also very thorough. They even adjusted the fit on my current glasses without being asked (which resulted in a big improvement in comfort level). The only drawback was the price of the new glasses. Even with insurance, I paid substantially more than I did 3 years ago at Wal-Mart for similar lenses. I am not sure if this is due to a change in my employee offered eye care coverage (which no longer supports Wal-Mart) or if the cost of lenses has increased substantially in 3 years. In either case, the cost was a huge surprise and I might try one of the chain eye-care places next time to see if there is any significant cost savings.

    They are our eye care doctors. They are very good. We really are happy with them. They are the different ones that we saw were too aggressive and they are wanting to do more complex services for us. My husband actually has been with them for probably 35 or 45 years. He is thorough and not pushy. He is giving me some ideas on some things that may be are issues in the future if nothing else changes. That is a potential but he is not in a big hurry to send me in for a lasix surgery or he is not in a big hurry to do the things that have big price tags too. There are other doctors that it seems like you go in and you see them and after you had your initial visit, they will call you back again and they start telling you about all the expensive things that they need to do to you now. He is not like that. He is just solid, thorough and he is giving me some ideas on some possible invitation of the direction I maybe going in and some things you can do to prevent it from happening. His office is top of the line, well kept, not old, and very very nice.
