Garage Door Repair And Installation reviews in Jackson

I called him just set up a time for him to come out and give me an estimate . He didn't answer the phone so I left a message . He never returned my call so I had to call him back a second time. He said he would be out and didn't show. He called me a third time and was supposed to show up that day. He never arrived. I went with someone else since this took about 2 weeks

First, he didn't show up when he said.  Then his work was less than professional.  I paid him because I didn't know what else to do and I was very upset at the quality of work.  Bolts weren't screwed in all the way, he changed the track that came with the door and gave me used tracks that he must have had as they were all greasy and dirty; installed an opener that the manual said was too small for the size of door, the trim wrap was terrible and he re-did it once and it didn't turn out any better.  He left mad and backed into my garden up over the garden blocks and pushed the mulch up plus knocked over my cement lawn figurine.  He must have cut himself and left blood on the opener, spilled coffee on the new door and didn't clean it up and a lot more just careless things that a professional would not have left.

I finally had to go to small claims court where the judge made us use a mediator and he signed an agreement about fixing every thing that was wrong and it was itemized and he had until November 17 to get it done.  I have a lot of pictures of all the mistakes and presented them to the mediator.  So far I have not heard from him and he has not shown up and tomorrow is his final day.

I believe this job was way over his head even though he had good grades on Angies List.  I did finally notice that these good grades were all for smaller jobs which he probably is capable of.  But larger jobs like I had is just beyond his expertise.  I am very upset as I do not have the money to correct this and have to live with an unusable door to my barn.  It is going to cost $975 to fix his mistakes and I just do not have that kind of money after spending all I had on this.  And now I will have to chase him down to get my money back.

This is my true review as the first one was over the phone with one of Angies List's people.  They put that I would use him again and I can't get them to change it.  So I had to write another one.  In no way would I use him again!

I called Mr. Watson on monday afternoon 4/27/2015 and explained what the problem was with the garage door that would not open. I told him that there was power to the opener but nothing was working. He told me it more than likely is that a gear was stripped and that he would be able to fix it. He quoted me a price of $110.00 and that he would call me in the morning around 9:30 am. He called and said he would be there in 10 min. He arrived in the 10 min. and confirmed that it was a stripped gear and went right to work. It was about an hour later I asked if he would also install a security cable on the door in case I have trouble with the opener in the future. He said he would. A short time later he was all finished and he charged me $130.00 for all the work. I thought this was a very reasonable price.
I am glad I found Mr. Watson he is a very nice guy and does great work. I will definatley use him again if need be.

Provider's technician arrived as agreed, in fact, he called ahead to give an ETA. The technician completed a multi-point inspection and found the garage door in need of multiple services. He was very knowledgeable and shared with me all that was wrong with the garage door opener. He recommended replacement of the garage door opener and all components as it was over 20 years old and was in its last days' of service. While the motor and track was still in decent shape, the cables were showing signs of being frayed and the chain links were sagging and were not repairable. The chain appeared to have been serviced by the previous homeowner some time ago, but it was a poor job. Overall, the garage door opener was in poor shape. The opener was very noisy (clanking and grinding) and vibrated the house when it was in use.
The provider's truck was well stocked with parts and new door openers. Technician suggested replacement and made recommendations for a new unit. As he was not allowed to install a homeowner purchased door opener (from a home improvement store, etc.), I purchased a mid-level model that he had available on the truck.
Technician installed the new door opener in two hours. Once completed, he offered me tips on regular homeowner maintenance. He was very neat and tidy.
My price rating is "FAIR" as I felt the garage door opener unit was a bit pricey. (I was paying for convenience of the provider having the replacement readily available.) My price rating for the inspection would be rated "very good".

    Overhead Door Of Jackson
Workers were professional. I believe the work took longer than what I had paid for. They initially offered the part, but then said it might not be needed right away when they had the unit apart. I took it anyway, feeling I owed them for the extra work they had already performed.

Responded with 48 hours and scheduled a time at my convenience. Called before showing up (confirmed appointment). Great info. Did not press or hard sell. Completed work within an hour and cleaned up afterward.

Very pleased with the experience; Mr. Watson repaired the door's mechanical problems quickly and systematically tracked down the electrical problem. He came prepared and even had parts needed to complete the job. Offered quite a few insights into how the door works, how to address some common problems, which will help me in the future. I definitely will call Mr. Watson if any future needs crop up. Costs were more than reasonable.

He can do everything and he is a nice guy. I  have used him multiple times for the past 7 years. I will continue to use his services in the future. I highly recommend him. He is very good at remodeling and maintaining older homes. I live in an craftsman bungalow and he adheres to the architecture.

The fix of the opener went in under 45 minutes. The owner did the job, he had an apprentice that he instructed but he did the actual job. They were friendly, professional and very honest and directed me to the repair and not a purchase of the opener. He had the parts needed on his truck and did the repair immediately. Payment was by check.

Had a 16'x7' garage door installed.  I had purchased the door from Menards, but upon reading of the dangers of removal of old torsion springs on garage doors, I decided to hire a professional.  They charged $350 to install the door, and $75 to install a new opener (which I also had previously purchased). They showed up a little earlier than expected, and were in and out in 2 hours flat.  They removed the old door, installed new door, new opener, and took all the scrap with them.  I was very happy with the price (cheaper than paying Lowes or Home Depot), and the service was quite quick.  I wish I had looked them up before buying the door, as they offer doors cheaper installed than buying a door and then paying them to install it.
