    Scott's Total Home Care
We are repeat customers many times over. Scott and Joe are very creative and work hard to make our vision come to fruition. The natural stone floor took a lot of extra time to prep but the end result is awesome. They installed a beautiful frameless shower door and an eye catching waterfall effect in the new shower that is a showpiece!

Renewal by Andersen of Grand Rapids
It cost way too much because they had to redo the header, move the whole thing down and match up sizing. They did a beautiful job. Normally I do that stuff but after 7 back surgeries I don't do a whole lot of that stuff anymore. They did an excellent job but they were quite expensive for a 5 foot slider. That's over $3400 for the workers, the sales guy and the guy who did the estimate. The workers did an excellent job. The only drawback is the company that they use for financing. The guy that did the estimate were here on time and prompt. The workers were prompt, very knowledgeable, professional and skillful.

    Home Energy Advantage
We needed to replace an 8 by 8 slider leading to a three seasons room before the cold weather arrived. We had word of mouth on Home Energy Advantage and my wife worked with the salesman to design the door assembly (including an integrated dog door) that gave her the look she wanted and the functionality I wanted. During that process the sales rep ask if we wanted to see his new gadget and how it worked. Being a gadget kind of guy, I said yes and we went around the house doing infrared imaging of our windows and doors. Being a doubting Thomas, I physically felt the cold spots coming through and around our six year old replacement windows. I never did figure out whether it was a bad install or the fact that the windows we had purchased were of inferior quality but we decided the only way for us to go was to replace them all.
Door and window install was done quickly and efficiently but the real winner was when we went back through the house with the infrared device. The walls and windows were all the same color which shows that we were not heating the outside through or around the windows any longer.
I intend to change the three seasons room into an additional four seasons living space this spring. I will be using Home Energy Advantage to do that job for me too. In my book there is no better reference than a return customer and no one better to trust your house to than Home Energy Advantage.

    WATSON REPAIR CONTR
I called Mr. Watson on monday afternoon 4/27/2015 and explained what the problem was with the garage door that would not open. I told him that there was power to the opener but nothing was working. He told me it more than likely is that a gear was stripped and that he would be able to fix it. He quoted me a price of $110.00 and that he would call me in the morning around 9:30 am. He called and said he would be there in 10 min. He arrived in the 10 min. and confirmed that it was a stripped gear and went right to work. It was about an hour later I asked if he would also install a security cable on the door in case I have trouble with the opener in the future. He said he would. A short time later he was all finished and he charged me $130.00 for all the work. I thought this was a very reasonable price.
I am glad I found Mr. Watson he is a very nice guy and does great work. I will definatley use him again if need be.

    Woodstone Builders
The work was done very well and exactly how I wanted it done.  Eric and his son Stefan are very nice and take time to explain everything to you.  However it did take some time between original estimate and when work was actually done.  Apparently there were some extenuating circumstances on the part of this contractor beyond his control so overall I was very satisfied.

    AFFORDABLE DOORS
I called the on Monday and they came out on Tuesday. My one garage door was making very weird noises and it seemed that it was about to come crashing down on my car. They came out at noon as promised and proceeded to service both doors. They checked every part of the doors and the garage door openers to make sure that they were working optimally. They lubed adjusted serviced and made sure that everything was functioning perfect, they were both professional and courteous and I would highly recommend them.

Renewal by Andersen of Grand Rapids
Overall very well. Sales rep Mel was very helpful and knowedgeable...yes, he convinced us that we would not like the less expensive insert type windows, as compared with the full window replacement. But he was helpful in arranging for us to see an actual installation. They looked good there, but would not have fit our home as well. Inserts have more "wood" (actually composite). The full replacements look very good. While waiting for fabrication, we had many questions, and Mel got answers quickly. It was about 7 or 8 weeks between contract signing and installation. Installation started on the date set at signing. Installer Joel was an experienced 2nd generation carpenter from the west side of Michigan. He and his coworker Phil partly commuted and stayed over in Jackson a couple of times during the 6 days of construction. They worked steadily, with a lot of care, and to the extent I could observe and judge, using good materials. The most important factor is the workmanship of installation. I was present for most of the 32 windows, plus patio door and noted their care in aligning, foaming, installing trim and exterior caulking. I would be happy to contract with Joel for any carpentry work. They also were careful to minimize mess and clean up after each room was done. It should be noted that this project necessarily involved some amount of dust and mess. They cut the old windows out from outside, but there is some sawdust & plaster dust. Once an old window is pulled, the construction dust plus accumulated years of whatever was around the old window can blow in through the opening. To try to manage this, we moved and covered furniture, walls and ceiling fans that we could reach with plastic ("grip n gard" from paint store). We used 1 1/2 rolls. The house did need dusting and cleaning after completion. This is as expected, but they did their best to try to control it. Joel was very good about communicating. We coordinated with him on when each room would start, so we could prep it just ahead of when needed. This minimized disruption of the house, and spread the work out for us. While constrained by the windows they had brought (the entire job was about 3 truckloads), they were very accommodating as to the order of rooms done. This was important, because we could use other areas of the house and not be totally disrupted. They were very friendly and willing to explain what they were doing. They were very tolerant of my looking over their shoulders most of the time and taking pictures of what it looks like under the trim. The job was originally estimated at 5 days, but took 6 plus an additional day to install one window which was mis-measured. We have 5 large arched windows in an upper row for which scaffolding ended up being required. The final results look very good. The look matches our old windows very closely - which is what we wanted and were promised. While we haven't experienced extreme winter or summer with them yet, they seem to be very energy efficient, but still give good esthetics. It will be years before we could really comment on durability, but they seem well made.

They provided excellent installation in some of the worst weather, cold and snowing, with out complaint.
The installers were friendly and helpful and went beyond the normal service requirements.

    Woodstone Builders
We ordered a custom front door with sidelights and transom from Lowe's and Woodstone Builders were the installers.  Eric came out on two different occasions to measure to ensure that the door would fit, after there was some confusion at Lowe's.  On installation day, Eric and Ralph installed the very heavy door with no problems, then fashioned custom moulding to match the existing woodwork in our house.  They were both very professional and even gave my husband some carpentry tips.  We would definitely hire them again.

We haven’t used them because we keep changing our mind about the project. This interaction went very well. He was very professional and very timely. He is very reasonably priced. We have used him before.
