AMr. Handyman of Greater Grand RapidsFabulous experience; I recommend them without hesitation. Each time I spoke with Tom he was very pleasant and professional, and so was his staff. Mitch was great too and he had some good advice about getting our home 'market ready'. In May, Tom communicated with me and kept me updated about the need to go by our house, find the necessary sash to fix the window, and on the cost. I know for a fact that having them spruce up our house played a major part in getting a good offer on our home and getting it sold and closed within only two months (Feb. 20th - May 30th). Also, this house is in Michigan and we were told by our realtor that the Michigan housing market (when we first put it on the market in Feb.) was one of the worst markets in the country. Our home sold quickly and the ONLY thing we did was have Mr. Handyman make small repairs and fixes, change some light bulbs inside and outside, apply some paint, and repair the window (and also have the carpet steam cleaned by another company). No regrets....I am satisfied and I now have high expectations of the Mr. Handyman servicer in the Atlanta, GA area.- TONYA D.

AMr. Handyman of Greater Grand RapidsI had a long list of "honey-do" type tasks that needed completing. None of them required a specialist so I searched Angie's List for handymen and found Mr. Handyman. The company sent Ron, who turned out to be a real gem. He removed the truly hideous and ancient vertical blinds, installed three curtain rods, a security bar for my sliding patio door, two safety grab bars in the bathroom, and placed wall hangars for a 30-pound mirror. Since the company charges by the hour, I worried that the handyman would try to stretch out the time, so that I would have to pay more. However, Ron completed these tasks in two hours, which I thought was the appropriate time. After I finish my next honey-do list I will definitely use Mr. Handyman again.- Gwendolyn R.

ADesigns by RobertaVERY, VERY WELL - Her work deserves an A+. Roberta spent enough time with us to understand our preferences, existing furniture and vision for an up-to-date condominium. In a week she drafted a plan that met our needs and our budget. She sought our input with each decision. Her flexibility along with her artistic vision transformed our condo from blah to beautiful. Roberta has an astounding sense of color. Starting with our existing furniture, she presented a color pallet that flows beautifully across main floor. Standing in the kitchen or the far end of the main floor, you can see the how the different colors and shades unify the space. Her network of professionals is remarkable. The painter she referred us to did the most beautiful interior work we have seen. We still marvel at the beauty of the colors and workmanship, wherever we sit on the main floor. We finished the plan in late October. We asked that all the work be completed by Christmas. She delivered on time, working with her superb network of tradesmen to rearrange and coordinate their calendars for our benefit. The painting was done right after Thanksgiving, the flooring was laid in mid December, and the window treatments were installed just before Christmas. Roberta contacted an artist who brought to life Roberta's remarkable vision to refinish a china cabinet in a slightly different shade from the kitchen walls. Thanks to the Roberta's ingenious treatment of the china cabinet, the kitchen blends into the rest of the main floor. We now have an updated, unified kitchen which has become a favorite gathering place. Roberta's clever rearrangement of our furniture along with her coordinated color choices has allowed for smooth transition from one room to the next, a characteristic that is so important in a condo. Roberta recommended Hunter Douglas window treatments which are soft translucent fabric and highly functional. They bring the outside light and colors into our condo, while preserving our privacy. The flooring that she recommended is easy to maintain and coordinates beautifully with the rest of the color scheme.- Diane W.

ADesigns by RobertaI have had the pleasure of working with Roberta Lathrop at Designs By Roberta a couple times now and will rely on her for future design needs. I first contacted her to purchase blinds. When I realized she brought more than the product with her: design ideas; product consultation/education; and color expertise, I was quick to hire her again for her $99 special for 99 minutes. I used this offer to help me organize my thoughts when remodeling my family room. She advised on colors, textures, lighting, furniture and accoutrements. I was thankful she was considerate in using existing, sentimental pieces in addition to adding just the right amount of new. This was cost effective on its own- but then she introduced me to a network of professionals, i.e. lighting, to capitalize on their expertise and her discounts, too. AInterior Concepts By DoreenExtremely well! She helped find the furniture that complimented the design we were looking for. Doreen assisted with purchasing the items at very favorable prices and then oversaw the arrival of furniture. We were not in the area when some furniture arrived and she made arrangements to receive and inspect the items as they arrived at our house. A piece arrived damaged; Doreen rejected the piece and saw that a replacement piece was eventually received. She is very punctual and forth coming with ideas. The furniture has arrived and we are very pleased with the outcome, quality and price. We would use Doreen whenever we need decorating services and would highly recommend Interiors Concepts by Doreen.- Bill H.

AEverything went extremely well. Roberta is a wonderful professional. She captured our vision for the project, helped us refine it and then brought it to realization even better than we had imagined. She drew on an excellent network of skilled artisans and tradesmen that made the plan a reality. She also has a gift for using the furniture that we have so that we did not need to buy everything new. This is the second time we have relied on her to help us remodel a condo. The first project increased the market value of the unit so that we could sell the condo for $20,000 over the average price in our complex. The current project in our second condo was more extensive and we are completely satisfied (thrilled, even) with the result. We enthusiastically recommend Designs By Roberta.

Prices were lower than others that I got quotes from & Communication was good with the home office (Had to wait a couple months because of waiting list). DIt took 3 days for them to respond, requesting me to call via email. The representative was then very clear on company policy / cost ... no free estimates and over $100 an hour for a single worker. The justification was that all their employees are licensed professionals ... but way too rich for me without the ability to get an estimate before hiring someone so expensive.

AAn absolutely amazing experience. Standale interiors has a great selection of materials for the kitchen but more importantly, they really have amazing people who work for them. The remodel was complicated by the tear out of floors and back splash as well as counter tops, the people who did the work were excellent, very professional and competent.

FThe installation crew had an inexperienced person who installed a window improperly. There was a big rain and the window leaked causing damage to my family room ceiling. The supervisor insisted it was not the window that caused the damage but immediately wanted to fix the window. He refused to pay for the damage even though the building inspector said the window was at fault. After much arguing and threatening I did receive a check for damages. I would not deal with this company again. Pay a little bit more because you get what you pay for.

FIf I could give zero stars, I would. First, it was taking forever to get my order. When I looked at my order, they somehow had the wrong address (my former address from five years ago), so I contacted them to change the address. They assured me that the address was changed. A couple of weeks later, I was notified via email that my order was delivered but when I checked my front door it wasn't there, so I went to my old address, 30 minutes away and got lucky that the owner was there and had received my order. When I got it home the 3 roller shades that I ordered for side-by-side windows were all 4 inches too big. I followed the online measurement directions which suggested that you add 2 inches per side to your measurements for an outside mount. I should have stayed with my original measurements. When I called, they suggested that I keep an inch on each side. They re-made them, and AGAIN sent them to the wrong address - even after I re-confirmed that they had the right one. Again, I had to go to my old address to look for my delivery. This time, no one was home, so I took a chance and waited in front of their house for a while until someone may come home. Luckily, someone showed up within 90 minutes. This time they had showed up with 2 boxes! They re-made it twice (6 roller shades), all still too big! Due to the global pandemic and for personal reasons, I waited to address the issue. When I finally was able to contact them, I was sent a message that the CSR's supervisor determined that the blinds were made correctly. Therefore, they cannot offer a remake for this order. Their policy states that they will make up to 4 shades if the customer is not completely happy. However, they offered to remake the shades at a discounted price! I will not give them one more penny! Worst service ever! A $500.00 lesson learned - They stole my money and left me with 9 useless roller shades to get rid of. I do not recommend them!
