He diminished the surgery performed and the amount of pain and loss of balance that occurred to me afterward. After several weeks of pain, he suggested exploratory surgery. Instead, I began PT. Upon the advice of the Ptherapist, I then sought a 2nd, and 3rd opinion. Both said almost all cartilage had been removed and my only alternative now was deal with the pain or have the bones fused. It severally impacted my ability to run, walk over uneven ground, or maintain balance. Dr, Gonzalez never shared that possibility prior to surgery, nor how much he removed (after surgery). I was left believing it was just me.

Went in at 9am on a Sunday morning. Couldn't tell if pain was an ear problem causing lower jaw and teeth to hurt; or a tooth problem with pain radiating into ear. Had read on the internet that an ear infection can cause damage to eardrum and possible hearing loss, so didn't want to take a chance. Had never been to Haslett Redi Care before, but the staff and doctor were very professional. The waiting room and examination room were clean and got in to see the doctor in a timely manner. He checked for both sinus and ear infections and determined it was probably a tooth. Had already set up a dentist appt. for next day, so now had peace of mind knowing no ear infection. By 5 pm on Sunday, pain was excruciating--like an ice pick through the ear drum. Went back in to Redi Care and the doctor wrote me a prescription for pain meds based on his morning evaluation. I asked them what I owed for coming back in a second time, and they said and quot;No charge!and quot; Had a wisdom tooth pulled the next day, but will be forever grateful to Haslett Redi Care for easing my mind and my pain!

Overall this physician is irresponsible.  He told me I had a fractured vomer and ethmoid bone.  He did not offer to view the CT images with me.  He took a quick look up my nose and said he would do surgery "next week."  He never performed any of the required pre-surgery communication related to informed consent, e.g. risk, benefits, etc.  He told me that I would have to wait 6 months after the first surgery and then have an additional surgery to repair my deviated nasal septum.  After I went home I was concerned that I really knew nothing about what he intended to do in the upcoming surgery the following week.  I called the office to learn that he had left town and they would check with another physician at MSU Surgery.  I was then immediately scheduled with an amazing EENT doctor (Dr. Peshak) who showed me my CT images.  What a SURPRISE to learn I didn't have an fractured vomer or ethmoid, only the very small distal nasal bones were broken. This doctor also told me he could repair the more serious deviated septum at the same time as the fracture repair.  He performed the surgery the following week and all went well and I have healed nicely.
If I had not questioned the competency of Dr. Edward Lanigan I would have had one surgery to repair bones that WERE NOT broken and I would have had to endure a second surgery to repair a deviated septum.
Post script:  I later learned that Dr. Lanigan was in a hurry during our initial appointment because he needed to catch a plane to Miami to watch his alma mater Notre Dame play in the college football championship game.  His passion for sports almost caused me to have TWO unnecessary surgeries.

I have been to Haslett Redi-Care several times when I was unable to get in to see my own doctor and they have always been very good and addressed my health issues with great professionalism. In fact, I even asked them if they could become my regular doctors because they do such a good job. On this visit they diagnosed what my problem really was, gave me a prescription and some tips to help my healing along. They are usually fast, friendly and efficient. When they are backed up with patients they have a buzzer system that has a 5 mile reach so I can do errands while I'm waiting for my turn instead of sitting in a room being exposed to more germs. I highly recommend Haslett Redi-Care and any of the doctors I've seen there.

I had my intro appointment with Dr. Elfring with several concerns and she was very attentive to me, asked lots of follow up questions to be sure she understood my needs. She was also very thorough in getting the family medical history. I didn't feel rushed at all and I feel that she will suit my personality very well.

Dr. Helms reviewed and discussed my prior lab reports and other medical records, as well as doing a general checkup.  She always makes you feel comfortable, has excellent communication with her patients, and I feel is very thorough.  Dr. Helms takes her time with you as a patient and always takes time for any questions.  I highly recommend her (which is something I rarely have done with prior physicians).

They are wonderful to work with. If you walk in there and if they have a waiting list, they give you a pager like in a restaurant, which you can take it home with you. It buzzes and beeps when they are ready to see you and you can come back in. They took care of me when I had a sinus infection. Overall, it was great. It is very easy to go there. You don't have to wait. They are very friendly and courteous. I haven't had any issues with the billing and administration as well.

Dr. Kohler sits down at every appointment, goes through a thorough history and review of systems, and performs an appropriate exam. She allows me to participate in my own treatment, perhaps without quite enough discussion of the pros and cons and medical evidence supporting treatment options ( I don't know any doctor who does!). She is open to learning (I am also a physician) and does not push me for testing when I can show her the medical evidence that does not support it. As with pretty much all medical care these days, she doesn't and probably can't, spend ALL the time with me I would like her to, but she does a lot better than the vast majority of physicians. She is knowledeable and appropriately focused on wellness and prevention.

We wouldn't have anybody else. She got her DO at Michigan State University. She is very good. She keeps us healthy. I can't ask for much more than that. We like her. She is a wonderful person as well as an excellent physician. We looked long and hard for her.
