    Okemos Optometry PC
When I was originally looking for an optometrist I was debating on finding a local practice or visiting a chain service provider. I'm so very glad I chose Dr. Silverman as I've been completely satisfied with the service provided. I was not able to wear contacts for years and he's since helped me identify a brand that works with my eyes. Also, the staff were great in helping me select frames, which I receive endless comments on. With my last visit I love that they care for their clients with promotions on contact lens purchase and sun glasses; or awesome frame pricing.
I know this will be my optometrist for years to come!!!

Appt went well. I did feel pressured to try a different brand of contacts even though accuvue oasis had been my previous brand and were working great. I went back the next day to tell them the suggested lenses irritated my eyes. They ended up giving me two free trial pair as a backup for my vacation. This did require an extra appt to get authorization on the accuvue from the doctor but they got me right in.

My daughter gets nervous around people she doesn't really know, but the staff and Dr. Ebert are always very kind and good with her.  She always feels comfortable there and Dr. Ebert explains her eyesight and corrective plans to her as well as to me.  I think it is important for her to feel like she is involved in the process and not just like a lab experiment.  They are very successful in this.
My only downfall to Lansing Ophthalmology is the waiting.  You need to plan for a big chunk of time (in all fairness, some of that is required time for eyes to dialate).  When they first call your name, you go into a small data-gathering room with a tecnician who asks some preliminary questions and does basic eye tests (color blindness, etc.).  Then you go back out and wait to get into another small room with a technician who uses equipment to do further vision screening and tests (glaucoma, etc.).  Next, you wait for the optometrist who does the final eye exam and makes recommendations.  Finally, if you are planning to purchase glasses or contacts, you put your name on a list and wait some more at the optical center or contact lens fitting area.
I do think that Lansing Ophthalmology has some of the top eye doctors in the area... and for that I'll put up with some waiting!

I was impressed by how kind Dr. P was and his thorough examination of my eyes. I felt like he cared about me as a patient and was not in a rush to get to the next person.
