Interior Painting reviews in Grandville

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • Everything was excellent. I don’t have any complaints. I wished it was a little bit cheaper. They did a great job. It was fantastic. They were prompt, just everything was really great. They took their shoes off, just great, everything. Because of how good it was, I think everything overall was an “A”, except for price, it would be a “B”.

  • Rob Sligh and his team at CertaPro Painters of Grand Rapids are top shelf. Rob has been a part of our business referral group and I can personally vouch for his honesty, his promptness in responding to your requests, and in his team’s attention to detail. If you are thinking about painting – interior or exterior – make sure you hire Rob's team at CertaPro Painters of Grand Rapids. P.S. One caveat ... I was all set to hire Rob's team to paint the exterior of my house only to sustain wind damage and now I have an insurance settlement to re-side the house ... but, I am looking at the interior of my house and thinking - Rob needs to do something for me to spruce up my living space.

  • They did a fantastic job went over the paint colors with me before they started.  Very organized, did a great job cleaning up. The workers were very nice and made sure to let me know that anytime they were there if I had any questions not to hesitate to ask.   They moved all the furniture out for me and moved it back. The painting in every room was absolutely professional I could have not have asked for a better job. I am extremely pleased how every room looks!!!!!
I would recommend this company to everyone

  • We were so happy with Mike who came out to give us a quote, very friendly and professional. They gave us a fair quote on painting our exposed basement ceiling. The job took one day and we are very pleased with the work! I would use them again, no question.

  • I contacted Vintage Painting and left a voicemail.  They were very quick to get back to me and came out and did an estimate within a few days, even though we were already into painting season.  The estimate was reasonable so we went ahead.  I actually never saw the painters, as they painted while I was at work, but I see the results and it looks great.

  • I replaced a bathroom fan that also required replacing part of the vent duct work.  This left a couple good sized holes in the ceiling.  I thought it best to get a professional to repair drywall ceiling and I would paint it myself.  I called Mr. Handyman and a person came out and patched up the ceiling, but the results were very poor.  I called Mr. Handyman and sent them pictures of the poor work quality and they sent another person to correct the problem.  The second person was very good and the end result was that the drywall damage was undetectable.  The follow-up repair was at no charge.  While the first person did poor work, Mr. Handyman corrected the problem.  I consider myself pretty handy, but there are some jobs where experience is worth the cost of "education", like drywall work. I almost lowered the quality grade, but the end result was very good quality, so I will grade on that.

  • We were very pleased with Rockwood Construction Overall. Dave Gridley and Bob Sorensen are very professional and great to work with. This was a large project which started in September 2014 and finished in January 2015. We had to remove load-bearing walls and move heating/cooling ductwork and they did a great job. We were also very pleased with the extensive work that the electric employees did for the project. We had not done any remodeling prior to this, so we did not know what to expect. Obviously, there are things that go wrong for every project, but any issues we had were resolved.
    Our project included:
New Flooring, new cabinetry, new countertops & backsplash, new sink/faucet, all new appliances, enlarge and bump out existing laundry room, add wainscoting woodwork to dining area, move and reinstall all old cabinetry to garage, add new sink in garage, new woodwork/coat racks etc in laundry room, sanding/painting of banister, all new lighting fixtures.
We were also pleased  with the team of people that Rockwood employs to do the demolition and finished carpentry. We would use this company again for future projects.

  • This is the third time Michael has been to our home and I can't say enough good/nice/great things about him and his work.  He did all of the above work and helped me pick out the color to use on the bedroom.  He is never pushy and will always listen to me and all my concerns.  We plan to have him back in a few months to do another room.  He helped me pick colors for some pillows in another room which really "popped" that room up.  He is neat and cleans up after his is done so not a lot of extra work for me.

  • I am a perfectionist when it comes to most things and I have painted every other room in the house.  I hate roller marks and I have seen bad paint jobs.  I will redo an entire wall if I leave a bad mark or heavy paint spot.  The scope of this room with the high ceilings was beyond my ability however so I had to ask for help.  I am glad I did.  Paragon Painting did an excellent job.
Paragon painting showed up to look at the job within a day of my request.  They discussed details and what paint would work best for our needs.  A quote was e-mailed to me within 24 hours.  Sherwin Williams was having a 40% off sale so I opted to buy my own paint because it was then cheaper than the quoted price.  Without the sale, the quoted paint price would have beaten the store price.  After the initial consulation, I decided I wanted to include painting the ceilings.  They gave me an estimate of what they thought it would be, since they didn't actually measure for it when quoting my job.  The estimate ended up being the final charge.
They were able to take on the job almost immediately.  It was actually me who had them wait three days because I wanted to take everything off the walls. They showed up promptly at the agreed upon time on the starting day.  I felt comfortable leaving the house after making sure they knew what needed to be done.  They finished within two days and left everything clean.

    • They went out and bought more ceiling paint because my ceiling soaked it up and I had not purchased enough.  The ceiling paint I used was not rare, but they did make sure to get the same brand.

I patched and sanded down all wall imperfections myself so I cannot attest to how complete of a job they do in that regard.  I did leave two nail holes that were too high for me, and they patched them up nicely.
    They cleaned my ceiling fan.
They straightened some ceiling lights that were not pointed perfectly straight.  I asked them if they could do this in passing before I left them on the first day, but they remembered to do it.
Where the wall meets the ceiling looks very good.  I usually have to go back and do lots of tiny touchups when I paint, but I see no place to do touchups on their work.
Overall they did an excellent job.  I would use them again.  My only complaint would be that they did not put tape over wall switches and outlets.  The top lip of my decora switches and the outlets got speckled with paint.  It was easy enough to scrape off with my fingernail when putting the wall plates back on however.  Most people would probably not even notice the tiny dots of paint, but I am super picky about stuff like that.

  • Michael arrived on time for the estimate, was on time every time he was scheduled to be here.  His attention to detail was way above anything I have ever seen.  He helped pick out paint (something I am not good at) and the colors were wonderful.  He went above and beyond by helping with the bathroom mirror.  He made several extra trips for us doing little things that he didn't have to do.  We will have him back again.  He gave me ideas in other rooms and even if I didn't need him to paint I would gladly pay him to be my decorator.
He is neat, cleans up even if he is coming back the next day- leaves the room in useable order.
