    Carl's Appliance
Carl's Appliances, over the phone, told me a refrigerator model FFTR1821QS was on sale for $599. The "S" means the stainless steel. I looked at this model for its features on their website, and said I'd buy it. Even though I had been previously told this stainless steel model was on sale for $599, I was then informed that stainless steel would be $75 more. I said ok. Then I was told there would be a $79 delivery charge. I again said ok because it would be a difficult delivery. There was a narrow doorway, a stairlift to get over, and I wanted a smooth transaction. I did look at Home Depot's website, and they offered the same model, in the stainless steel for $599, including free delivery. I thought the extra $154 at Carl's would be alright because I would be taken good care of, and I like supporting local businesses. I even tipped the 2 fellows $20 each who delivered it. I buffed out the scratches to the edges, and spray painted the side scrapes because I figured it was a difficult delivery, and some damage was acceptable. From my experience with the upstairs refrigerator I bought at Home Depot, they would have sent 3 men instead of 2 though, and for free, as I said. I had to level this new, wobbly, fridge myself so it didn't topple on me, and took off the blue tape under the door seals. Then I immediately had a problem with the freezer not getting cold enough. Carl's repairman, Bob, came and damaged my freezer interior, either because he didn't know how to take out the shelf, or just didn't care. He did nothing to fix the fridge. He actually wrongly told me "No freezer goes to zero degrees." I offered to show him one that does and he said he wasn't going to waste his time. So I guess if you want a refrigerator with a freezer that doesn't go to zero degrees, go to Carl's. Carl's repairman can't even do work on compressors. Carl then dropped by, inconveniently unannounced, to see the damage, and sanded my freezer interior, but he didn't even look in the refrigerator to see how it was working. Frigidaire then sent a repairman who changed a part, in my now, thanks to Carl's repairman, scratch and dent purchase. When I called Carl's to ask for some help with Frigidaire, Carl raised his voice to me because I had said I hadn't been using the new refrigerator. He excitedly said "Don't tell me you didn't put food in that freezer. I saw TV dinners and orange juice!" Evidently sticking some items in it from the upstairs refrigerator, to test the new Frigidaire is getting use out of it. Carl said he couldn't resell it, if he took it back, because I put food in it. I never asked him to take it back, but why would he sell a defective unit to some unsuspecting customer anyway? You may want to think about that. I have to now ask why was there cosmetic damage to my new unit. Why was there was no protective wrapping on it, when it was brought in. Why were no drawers taped closed. Why were no pages attached to the sides. Carl's repairman's damage to my property should have been sufficient reason for Carl to take back the refrigerator, if I had wanted that, although I suspect the first person Carl sold this refrigerator to damaged the freezer wall. A repairman should know how to move a shelf. So, if this first purchaser moved the freezer shelf, I think he must have put food in the freezer. When I politely said to Carl I'd have to dispute the charge if he didn't help me with Frigidaire, he hung up on me. I never raised my voice or was insulting to him. What kind of owner does business this way? I called back , and asked the person who answered, to ask Carl if we could start over again. He wouldn't get on the phone. Carl's website doesn't show the interiors of the refrigerators. You can click on them, but it just uselessly makes the closed unit a little bigger. The user manuals are not on the site. If you want to see them, go to Home Depot's site. You can do much better than Carl's Appliances. I did with my refrigerator I bought from Home Depot. If you don't believe me, check it yourself. My experience at Carl's can only be described as negative. From a non competitive price and misquote on the cost of the stainless steel model, to the delivery men not taking precautions to insure no dents or scratches. Frigidaire has now told me my freezer should run between 5 and 12 degrees, which is ridiculous. I have left messages with Carl's offering to work with him in buying a more expensive product, but have gotten no response. Carl's Appliance offered no help in dealing with Frigidaire. The deliverymen didn't even level the refrigerator, which had to be done a different way than the manual instructed. Carl's repairman offered no assistance, and actually damaged my new purchase. I would recommend you look elsewhere for a major appliance, somewhere they take pride in selection, service, and customer satisfaction, if you can find one. If you can't, go for the cheapest price. Carl's that ain't.

I don't understand why Carl's won't work with me. I offered to buy a more expensive refrigerator, pay another delivery charge, and reimburse for the depreciation on this one. They sold me an inferior product, lied about it, and refuse to respond. Carl even told me Juice concentrate doesn't freeze. It's always frozen, all my 61 years. It's just this freezer.

Mr. Appliance of Greater Livingston County
Mr. Appliance was contacted as a third party provider to address a warranty issue for a washer. I called Mr. Appliance and asked
since the repair man would be present, would he be able to take a look at a microwave that was not working properly. I was told it would not be a problem, and there was no mention to additional charges.
The repair man came and fixed the washer under warranty, and then after looking at the microwave, stated there was a diagnostic fee and that he would not leave until paid. While I have no issues paying the diagnostic fee, I do have a problem with the lack of transparency on charges before the service. When I discussed with a manager at the company, he stated it was standard to charge the fee but gave no explanation as to why I was not informed ahead of time.
I only used this company because of the warranty. Previously, I had a similar experience in which the management I spoke with was not helpful, arrogant, and rude during a partial repair of an oven. I subsequently used another repair company to finish the job. Unfortunately in this situation, I had no choice but to use them due to the warranty out sourcing. I am only writing this complaint now since it is the second time they have provided poor service.

Mr. Appliance of Greater Livingston County
Technician was there during the assigned time.  Came out the first week, did the check, found that the cooling fan was bad.  The part was ordered and as soon as it arrived a new appt was scheduled.  Technician was once again prompt and very quick.  Fan was repaired in less than 30 minutes and everything put back exactly where it had been.  Great service and great technician.

    Carl's Appliance
Purchase was easy and they did a WONDERFUL job iwth the installation. Their installers (Carl's Son), really took time to make sure the dishwasher was installed correctly and were extremely provessional and courteous. The end product was a far superior job to what a big box store installer did iwhen my last dishwasher was installed. I would purchase another appliance from Carl's without hesitation.

    Daniel's Appliance Repair
Daniel was a pleasure to deal with, great character.
He diagnosed the problem quickly and replaced a thermal fuse. Dryer's back to working.
I noticed that my exhaust hose was leaking as there was dryer lint on the wall around the hose, he had a spare section of hose that he gave me and we put that on.
BTW, Daniel says that Angie's List is trying to shake him down by trying to charge him $50 a month to move him up higher in the ratings, Daniel does not need to be raised higher via Angie's List mafia, he does his work honestly and fairly, the reviews given by people like me speak for themselves.
Good luck Daniel, I've got your number and will be calling you again when the need arises, thanks again.

    Daniel's Appliance Repair
Overall, things went very well.  We emptied out the freezer and right away he knew what the problem was. After thawing and restarting the fridge, he told me what to do as far as checking the temperature to make sure it was working properly. He explained everything clearly and in terms that I can understand. Very satisfying experience.

    Daniel's Appliance Repair
Daniel diagnosed the problem with my gas dryer, which was left behind by the previous owners of the house. I had an electric dryer, so he took the motor out of that one and put it in the gas dryer. I was thrilled to have it working again. The price was very reasonable and I was extremely pleased. I would recommend him to friends and family.

    CRC Appliance Repair Service
Was awful. This has been going on since March of this year. Our ice maker quit making ice so CRC replaced the water valve and charged us. That still didn't work so they replaced the ice maker and charged us. That didn't work so they put in an ice maker from a different model refrigerator. It worked for 3 months then quit. So - they replaced the ice maker. It didn't work. They replaced the water valve again - we were charged again. It didn't work. Then they started to check wiring diagrams, etc and concluded that its a control module - 1 of the 5 in the refrigerator that was ruined in a power outage. They could start to replace them - doing the main one first for $396. Once installed it was bought. If that one didn't work they would try other modules. We said enough was enough. Now we are out $400 and still no ice maker! The entire process was all wrong. We were ripped off, plain and simple.

    Carl's Appliance
I called Carl's to set up a time to look at my dishwasher and told the young lady I didn't get out of work until 15:30 and would be home between 15:45 and 16:00. I pulled in to my driveway at 15:47 and the repair man was in the driveway. I got out of my car and he was clearly annoyed with me. he was told I would be there at 15:45. I then apologized and explained what I had stated when I set up the app't. It takes me 5 minutes to walk to my car and approximately 15 to drive home. It all went down hill from that point on.
I called and spoke with Carl, and he told me this guy is the only person he uses and is usually very professional and there really wasn't any thing he could do except return my check to me.

    Daniel's Appliance Repair
I called Daniel's Appliance Repair this morning because of my squealing dryer, around 9:15. He was at my house at 10:45. Daniel took apart my dryer and cleaned it. He was happy to show me the inner workings and was patient and didn't talk down to me when I asked questions. He was efficient and honest with me saying my 25 year dryer will eventually seize up and stop working. That my dryer was not worth fixing. I asked him for recommendations on new dryer brands and styles and he gave me the answers. He gave me a discount on the house call because "the job was not finished to his satisfaction". Wow. I have never had anyone tell me that. If you EVER need appliance repairs I highly recommend that you call Daniel. He is punctual, honest, patient and is a very nice man. I now have his card on my frig and will be recommending him to anyone in need of repairs.Thank you Daniel! It was a pleasure to meet you and your work is excellent. Can't say enough good things about you.
