Regal Home Services
Business Description: Thank you for your interest in Regal Home Services . RHS was started in 2008. In 2004, I became a father and again in 2007. I was blessed with a daughter and a son. As a decision by my wife and I, we decided I would stay home with the children. During the summer and school breaks, I would have a chance to work for friends and family members doing odds and ends. After many years in the trenches of parenthood, I decided to broaden my horizons and start Regal Home Services. This business is 2/3 time, not full time. I am still a stay at home dad for my children with less home responsibilities. I get my kids to school and I am home when they get off the bus. I am the only employee with Regal Home Services, however I have an awesome list of sub contractors which I use for major projects. I do all my billing electronically and even online payment options.

ACanney's Water Conditioning IncCalled on Tuesday and scheduled an appointment for Thursday PM. Canney's called at 11:40 Thursday and said technician would arrive in 30 minutes. Technician arrived at 12:08. While working initial issue, he identified several others that he fixed, The technician also provided several tips on how I could keep the water softener system running smoothly. ABartholomew Heating & Cooling IncThey did all of this in one day, which was 1/2 day ahead of schedule. The cost was as quoted. The installation was very neat and the guys making the installation were very nice to work with. Gary, who gave us the quote was very knowledgeable, friendly and very organized. He gave us a written quote about 5 minutes after we discussed the installation. They also handled all the paperwork for the consumers energy rebates. I plan on having them service the furnace and water heater in the future.- Scott V.

ADan Wood CompanyOn Christmas eve our hot water heater started leaking and we thought we would be able to baby it along through the holiday and weekend-nope. It just died. We had tried to call other places on Christmas and got through to their answering services but didn't get a return call. So we figured it could wait until the next day. We called DanWood, got their answering service, a return call within minutes and a technician (plumber) here within an hour and a half. He said if we had called them on Christmas that they would have replaced it then.
Very professional, efficient and nice. We paid a little more than usual because it was on a weekend, but my family just has to have their hot water-they're spoiled.
Between the time we called and the time we had hot water it was 3 hours.

AGreat Lakes Plumbing IncWe discovered water leaking through our 1st floor ceiling at about 9pm and shut off the main water supply. We called great Lakes Plumbing and by 9:45 the plumber arrived. He tore out the damaged ceiling drywall and discovered the source of the leak (a toilet with a cracked flange that was also had a leaky flapper) . The water to the toilets was shut off and water to the rest of the house restored. He made an appointment to return the next day to repair the toilet and was out the door by 11p,m. The next day he arrived on time, removed the old flange, laid in a thin layer of quickrete (the flange had not been raised when floors were updated two years previously and the plumber felt the flange needed to be raised to the level of the new flooring), installed the new flange, a new wax ring, replaced the internal tank hardware, laid down silicone sealant and reset the toilet. He then inspected the other upstairs toilet and found that it had the same problems, except that the flange had not yet cracked all the way through. With permission, he repeated the above repairs to the other upstairs toilet. Everything was clean and tidy before he left.

FClean Earth Environmental ContractingWell at first, the guy couldn't find the lid to the septic tank so he dug a hole about 6 foot by 3 foot in my yard, He had to call the secretary to ask her to look in our file from two years ago to get the measurements to the lid. Would have been a lot easier and less damaging to my lawn if he had just done that to begin with.
Then as he was pumping the septic tank, he stopped and told me that his truck had 'lost suction' and he would have to go back to the shop and get a different truck. Then when he finished pumping he actually left the hole there without filling it in. So I was left with a 6'by 3' by 1'deep hole in the back yard. I was disgusted and called the manager, Butch and he told me he would have someone come out tomorrow to fix it. But in the meantime, my husband who knows how picky I am about my lawn, tried to fix it himself. So, now I will have to pay for a landscaping company to come out, dig up the sod, fill the hole and tamp down the soil properly and then put the sod back on.
Never will I use this company again. I have pictures of the hole they left but don't know where to put them on here.

AGreat Lakes Plumbing IncWe were extremely pleased with the installer (Tim). He is a perfectionist about his work. We were also impressed about his knowledge of the system and friendly, communicative manner. His experience certainly shows.
We have not yet operated the system and of course, we won't until cold months. We have every confidence that we will be very pleased. We will certainly report if we are not.

ADan Wood CompanyThe service person arrived at the scheduled time and was friendly. He respected the cleanliness of our home and used shoe covers when inside. After the initial evaluation, he gave three options and explained each one and pros/cons of each, so I could make an informed decision.
After selecting an option (replace a valve, vs replacing entire unit and an option in between), he promptly got to work and was finished in a reasonable amount of time (about 30 minutes).
He replaced a copper pipe with a pvc pipe and took the copper pipe with him. Later on, I realized that I would have liked it if he gave me the option of keeping the copper, but that's fairly minor.
The part that was a little confusing and odd was that when scheduling the appointment, I was told that it was a $10 trip fee that would be charged even if I only used them to quote and not do the work. However when billing, the service trip charge was $69 dollars in addition to the actual work. This was very surprising. It could have been handled better, perhaps there was a misunderstanding between the scheduler and the service tech. He did honor the Angie's List coupon though, which helped. After everything, the total was just under 275.
Finally, I appreciated a followup call two days later to ensure everything was working correctly.- Shashi S. -
AModern Plumbing Sewer & Drain ContractorsWe noticed that the old water heater had a small leak. It was over 25 years old.I called them on Tuesday and made an appointment for Friday morning. They said between 8:30 and 9:30. He called and was there at 8:30. He looked at the situation and he suggested a replacement with new connections and all labor. I decided to up grade from a 40 gal. tank to a 50 gal. tank. He went back to get the new tank and was back buy 10:00. He replaced the old tank with all the connections and disposed the old one and cleaned up and went over the new operation of the new tank. All this was completed by noon.

ALumbard Pump Sales & ServiceThe bladder in our well water tank ruptured, leaving us with no water. It was the weekend, so I waited until Monday morning to call. They responded immediately, saying they held Mondays open for people who lost water over the weekend. After diagnosing the problem, and letting me know a new tank was required, they gave me a quote on the recommended replacement tank. (They could have replaced the tank with the same brand, but said that particular type had a high failure rate -- which I believed, because ours was only six years old.) After ordering the replacement, Lumbard's called to say it had arrived and they could install it even sooner than the scheduled date. We had water before I knew it. I highly recommend Lumbard's for their prompt, courteous, efficient service and reasonable prices, and I will call them again if we need plumbing work because I've learned from this experience that I can trust them.
