    J Mills Plumbing LLC
J Mills is excellent. Very responsive with quality work at a fair price. I had them install a new water heater, install a new sump pump, install a new toilet, and new fixtures in my shower/bath tub and bathroom sink. I couldn't be more pleased with the work they have done. I would strongly recommend them for any plumbing and/or installation work you may need done.

    BOLTON BROTHERS SEPTIC SVC
WARNING!!!!! If you are having septic tank issues Do Not Call Bolton Septic service. We called them because we had an issue , our tanks were not draining properly so since we had them come out less than a year ago for maintenance we called them last Tuesday and was told " Its too cold nobody will come out in this weather you will have to wait until the temp was up to like 20*" So we scheduled an appointment for Saturday morning we told them we had a discharge filter and asked if that could be the issue Mr Bolton said it could be so we asked that they bring one with them and change it out because when they did the original maintenance they told us it had a broken handle and could not be removed for cleaning. So Friday comes and I call Bolton to verify the appointment and that the guy would have the new filter on his truck and was told that he would and he would call when on the way. Saturday morning comes and they don' t show up so I try calling them to see why and get the answering machine that says they will call back ASAP, No call so we wait and wait try calling again same thing so we leave another message still no call back. At 4:30pm I get a call from the driver and he tells me that he was not given a filter and the supply house was now closed so there was no reason to come out to our house the tanks are still not draining. So I ask him to have the owner call me back - no call back! So we Call Patrick Esper septic service 517-294-0026 at 5:00pm and explain the situation and he said he would be out in 45min. He arrives in 30min, checks the tanks and says they are full so he removes the covers and up floats the filter - not stuck and in dire need of cleaning! This is the same filter that Bolton said could not be removed so Patrick pulls it out and pumps out the tanks then he told me that the fitting where the handle is is 3/4" PVC and just needs a tee glued on for a handle and just spray it out with water to clean it that it would not need to be replaced. Problem solved! Patrick also told me that he has been servicing tanks all week and could have come out on Tuesday. Oh Did I mention that he was actually closed at 3:00pm on Saturday when he responded to the call. So if you are looking for old style customer service call Patrick Esper instead of Bolton.

    STATE SOFT WATER CO
It was clear that the "technician" sent out to do the actual work did not have the expertise required. The new carbon filter continued to leave black grit in the water. The same technician was sent back to replace that filter, and the new one did not leave the same black grit in the water, but subsequent inspections by more than one local water treatment company indicated that the carbon filter had actually been installed improperly, with the flow going in the wrong direction. I cannot be sure how this error ultimately affected the overall performance of my water treatment equipment, but I can say that shortly after the $600 "service" done by State, my water softener stopped working completely. Also during that follow-up visit, that same technician went into the hall bathroom upstairs to run the water in the sink to check that the carbon sediment had now been removed. To this day, I do not know what this person did in the bathroom, but after he left my home, I happened to open the door on the bathroom vanity and found everything in the cabinet sitting in water. I quickly soaked up all of the water and removed the drawers (also soaked) and had to leave the cabinet door open for a couple of weeks to help the water-soaked wood dry out and hopefully avoid mold formation. The only indication that anything had happened during that "service" call by the State representative was the water-soaked towel that he had forgotten to take with him and instead left on the railing in my garage. But this person walked out of my home without saying anything to me about the damage that he had done in one of my bathrooms! I called State's owner the next day to complain about what had happened, but I was not given even the courtesy of a return call. During the original installation, the same technician had made other equally serious mistakes in his work. When he removed the large holding tank, he cut the wires connecting that tank and valves to the well intake pipe in the basement wall. The next morning when I turned on my faucets, I had no water. To the credit of State's owner, he did respond to my text messages and phone calls, & came out personally to inspect the problem, but could not say what exactly had been done. He called Keller Well Drilling and they came out that same morning to install new equipment to connect to the well intake pipe in my basement. State Soft Water does seem to offer lower prices, but if they send out people who don't know what they are doing and actually do damage to your home without even telling you about it, there really is no savings to be had. This was one of my worst experiences with home repair services.

    SHUNK/FIEDLER R & L SEPTIC TANK SVC
I was pretty sure my tank was full, was having backups in my lower level shower. I found these guys with alot of good reviews. They were not wrong. These fellows were very flexible to when I wanted them to come out. They were prompt. They were thoughtful and checked on our property and where it would be safe to drive their truck before approaching our tank. They were constantly educating me on how to care for my tank in between pumping with what-to-do's and what-not's. Overall, very honest and dependable guys to have come to your house, take care of your problem and keep you knowledgeable on what to do in the future. I recommend them highly

    Miteff Plumbing
We hired Miteff Plumbing in Lansing, MI again for our recent plumbing repairs. Jody, DJ, and Joe are a first class team. They called us with their arrival time and came with all the correct materials for a cluster of repairs. Shut off valves and other pipe fittings are hard for me with my arthritis. They accomplished work in cabinets and down below that are stubborn, tight spots. We had 4 new bathroom shut offs installed. A new laundry room sink and fawcet with new shut offs for the sink and wash machine. A new gauge was also installed for our well pressure tank in the basement. They did a professional job and were always on task until the finish. They are still our first call for our plumbing needs! Thanks, guys!

They were very prompt even with the long drive out to our house.  They were very responsible in their work and picked up everything with no issues.  I asked about other plumbing upgrades and they were very knowledgeable about the current materials.  They were peace of mind for us.  I would not hesitate to call them again.

DYER WELL DRILLING & SERVICE INC
We called Sunday night and were without water. I asked for quotes on our well pump as it is ~15 years old and I was thinking the worst. Justin was very reassuring and told me not to panic. He rearranged his appointments in the morning to see us first so we wouldn't have to pay the emergency fees Sunday night. After a quick inspection, it turned out to be a faulty switch that had corroded. He replaced it quickly and saved us over $1000 that we thought we'd be paying for a pump. Justin's service was courteous, professional, thorough, and he walked us through every step of the process. For new home buyers like us, that extra time made us feel well taken care of. Just before he left, he said he had attached their contact information to the switch just in case. A thoughtful addition as we would call back Dyer without hesitation. Not only is our water running again, but he threw in some maintenance and our water pressure is top notch! He definitely went above our expectations. Nice to have in this day and age.
