Tim came out and gave me a prompt estimate in August. Said he was very busy and could not squeeze me in until end of September. Waiting was okay with me - the repair was not urgent. He texted me the day before he came with two other workers. They removed the old blocks and replaced with new. Also put a new cap on the porch. They were finished the same day. Tim came back the next day to remove the forms for the cap. Looks great. I'mm have him come back in the spring and replace the steps. and a couple foundation windows.

Tim was excellent from start to finish. Very professional, friendly and knowledgeable. Tim and his associate Mark arrived on time and worked very efficiently. They did an outstanding job. I wish all craftsmen conducted their business this well. I would definitely hire B&G Masonry again and recommend them to anyone.

Some of the cement bricks in my front porch had disintegrated after a long and very cold winter. Tim from B & G Masonry came over and looked at it and told me he could get it fixed but he was very busy and it may take a couple of weeks. Well, a few days went by and I was very pleasantly surprised to drive into my driveway and see that the blocks had been fixed way ahead of schedule. Tim did a fabulous job and I would recommend B & G Masonry to anyone needing this service!

Tim was very cooperative and professional.  He kept  me up to date on when he would arrive, and when he needed to do extra work he called and confirmed and gave me the price.  He completed the job as described and agreed upon.  The chimney looks great and I am very happy with his work from quote to completion.

    Walsh Masonry
Chimney crown was cracked and falling off. Chimney had cracked brick and mortar joints in top eight courses of brick. Mr. Walsh gave me a reasonable estimate to replace the crown and tear down and rebuild top of chimney. He explained the problems with matching old brick and the different size of modern brick (1/2" shorter). Work was weather dependent but should be able to start within two weeks.

Mr Walsh called before starting the work to make sure the day he wanted to do the work was convenient for us. He found a perfect brick match for color and texture. Removed crown and tore down portions of chimney with cracked brick and mortar joints. Rebuilt the chimney with new brick and placed a new concrete crown. During the process, he had to remove a few more brick then originally anticipated and replaced the top section of clay flue liner. This extra work was done for the original price.

The job was started within the two week time frame, and completed in one day. All debris was cleaned up and hauled away. When they left you could not tell there had been a major reconstruction project in the yard.

Excellent workmanship, and very professional. I would definitely recommend.

Mr. McDonald promptly returned my call and came to assess the job on the following day.  He did the work one week later, as my house is 45 year old and he had to locate the appropriate brick size. He is a very nice man.

I called Mr McDonald on 8/22/11, and left a message on his answering service. He returned my call, leaving a message on my answering machine saying he would come on the following evening to see what was needed. He came about 6 pm on 8/23 and went up on the roof to assess the problem. I could stand on the deck below where I could watch and talk to him. I could see the face of one brick hanging out and he just pulled it off and said that he would have to remove another brick to get to that one.

I had told him that after a hard rain water would puddle around the base of the chimney in my basement. He said the flashing had pulled away from the chimney. He could see where it had been tarred many times. Yes, I was aware of that. Mr. McDonald gave me the name of a person who did the roofing repairs around chimneys where he was doing work - if needed. I told him to go ahead and call this person.

At 8 a.m on 8/30/2011 Mr. Curtis Stanke of Curtis Stanke Construction, 2494 Oakridge Dr. Flint, MI  48507, (810) 234-6565 called to say he would be at my house in a few minutes to check out the roofing problems. He did arrive promptly, and went up on the roof to see what was needed.

In the 10 years since the roof was replaced the flashing had pulled away and needed to be replaced. He needed to remove and replace some shingles and so left to buy the shingles. He told me the price would be $300.00. The original roof color was black but had faded to gray and he was not satisfied with the match with the first shingles he bought so left to see if he could find a better color. I told him to not be so fussy but he wanted it to look good. He found a better color and spent several yours doing the repair. He had to chip off a lot of old tar at first. When he had finished the cost was still the $300.00 first quoted. Mr. Stanke has a builders license as well as a mechanical license.

I am very well pleased with the work of both these gentlemen. They were very professional.
