    McGuire Electric - Royal Oak
I always call McGuire Electrics for my electrical issues. I have several units that I rent out. I need someone dependable. It is very important to me that the people I hire show up on time because I live about 45 miles from my rental properties. It is easy to schedule a time with McGuire Electrics, the people who come are pleasant and come on time. They also do quality work!

    Dinverno Remodeling & Construction
Frank, Jay, and their team were amazing. Not only did they beat other contractors' estimates; they also had the job completed weeks before other local companies would have even started. Frank was supportive with design and financing decisions and responsive whenever we had a question or a scheduling concern. Our house looks 100% better now thanks to Dinverno Remodeling & Construction!

    Jen Czach Construction LLC
Jen works with very experienced subcontractors. I was a painting contractor for about 11 years and I've worked with many contractors over the years. I have to say her framer was especially experienced and very detail oriented. Her drywallers did a very good job (this job required a lot of non-right angles and the finished product looked great). The electrician was sloppy in terms of cleaning up after himself (but Jen was great about it). The tile work was great. Overall the project came in on budget and only about a week over the original timeline that she gave us (this wasn't a problem for us). She always answered e-mails immediately. The finished product looks great. She's a good person to work with. There were a few things that were done that I wasn't a fan of, but I'm honestly pretty picky and I notice every detail. I gave her a B in quality but this is more like an A-.

    Streamline Electric
Everything went really well. Two contractors were there, so one worked on the ceiling fan while the other worked on the exterior projects. We knew that there would be issues with the current electrical and they knew exactly what it was and took care of it. I was very happy with the work and am confident that our issues are taken care of!

    21st Century Windows

After I had decided not to go with wood windows based on total costs and getting a big box store quote, I had contacted 21st Century based on their reviews.  Spoke with Mark and his brother several times on the phone.  Mark stopped by and he came across as a very passionate person, Bruce was likable as well.  Quote received for 16 windows and siding repairs was less than windows alone at the big box store and I preferred the windows quoted (Sunrise).   Installation took a while due to certain circumstances but Mark kept me in the loop.  The installation crew that came did a fairly nice job.  Aluminum siding repairs were done quite well, there were some areas of window installation that were slightly rushed but overall a good job.

Will call 21st Century for future work needed to be performed.

Family Heating Cooling & Electrical Inc
This company was recommended to me by my next door neighbor, who said he's used them for years after they were recommended to him by another neighbor who has also used them for years.
They first came to my house on Oct. 15 within an hour of me calling about my bathroom light and switch that had quit working.  I was surprised by the quick response considering I was calling in the afternoon and didn't really expect anyone to come out until at least the next day.  They were unable to do anything that day, since it turned out I had a much bigger issue than a bad plug or bad switch.  They wrote up an estimate, which seemed very reasonable, and the work was scheduled for 11/2.
On 11/2, they came out to do the job, and now everything is working wonderfully!  They were very professional, very courteous, and left no mess.
In another review, I read that someone was not pleased with the office staff handling the phones.  I must say I talked to them several times and found them to be very friendly, helpful, and professional.

    ROY'S ELECTRIC
Marty is great. I plan to have him do work on my other house which needs a lot more help than the one he worked on last week. He is professional punctual and clearly very knowledgeable. I really appreciate that he is straightforward and clear with what he is going to do. His pricing is very reasonable compared with other quotes I have gotten and he is much more professional and knowledgeable than the other people I had spoken to about the house. He came out one day to give me an estimate.. I had scheduled the appointment a week in advance because my schedule was crazy. He was right on time. It took about 15 minutes for him to look everything over and give me a quote. He had to get special pieces to fill in the empty slots in the breaker box, so we agreed he would come back the next day to do everything. He was right on time the next day, and everything went smoothly. I then asked him if he could come look at my other house (it is a mile away) to give me a quote, but he had another appointment so we agreed to meet there that afternoon. Once again, he was right on time for our next appointment and very professional as we went through the house. I scheduled an appointment for the next week but i then had to cancel however I plan to reschedule with him next week to have the work done in my other house.

    Jen Czach Construction LLC
I received several quotes prior to deciding on which company to use. I was immediately comfortable with Jen upon meeting her. She was very knowledgable and most importantly she understood that I needed to remain within a fairly tight budget. The home was built in 1925 and the kitchen was remodeled around 1960. So it was in sore need of an update. However, just having purchased it, my budget was tight. After our initial meeting Jen returned, about a week later, with a detailed concept including drawings. No other firm was willing to show me what I was getting in advance but she was very detailed. She told me where I could save some costs i.e. putting in a laminate countertop. I appreciated her honesty and I never felt like she was trying to up sell me. Once the project began it went pretty fast. She made a commitment to a timeline and she met it. Her crews were professional as well. She was sure the job site was as clean as possible at the end of every day which was much appreciated. I am very happy with the work she did! It turned out far better than I anticipated and she thought about details that didn't even cross my mind! I will absolutely use her for future work.

    A J ELECTRIC
We had a hanging ceiling light that looked like it blew a fuse. It was hanging awkwardly off the ceiling and there was small smoke marks on the ceiling around the fixture. Normally I feel comfortable replacing this sort of thing on my own, but in this case I couldn't even figure out how it was attached to the ceiling and which fuse to flip to turn off power to that socket. We called AJ Electric to help us replace the light. Jim was responsive with phone messages and showed up exactly when he said he would. Actually, a little early, which worked out perfectly. The job involved replacing the fixture with another one that I had bought, and rewiring it. The new fixture did not turn on at first, and Jim said most likely the electrical fried the switch. He offered to replace the switch, with a regular one, but I happen to have an unused dimmer switch, so Jim used that to replace the broken switch. Light works great now.
