  This company came highly recommend and their quote was the best of three I received. I signed the contract (no down payment) on April 14th and was told they had a large job and would likely not be able to get me on the schedule until early July and would call once they had an opening. By the end of July, it hadn't occurred to me I never heard from them. A lot can happen in life over 3 1/2 months! Then one day the last week of July, I pulled into my driveway after work and found all of the siding had been stripped off my garage. I assumed it was DG although no one actually called to schedule the installation. It would have been nice to be notified as I was supposed to host a family BBQ that weekend - which I immediately cancelled due to the state of my yard. I called and emailed DG - they responded first thing the next morning and apologized, explaining they had written down the wrong phone number on my contract, left a message on the voicemail of the wrong phone number, and decided to proceed with the work even though they never confirmed it with me. I understand accidents happen, but I cannot believe any contractor would think it's okay to come onto someone's property and begin a major project without discussing it with the homeowner. They hadn't communicated with me for over a quarter year. They could have sent me a letter or dropped one in my mailbox once they realized they had the wrong phone number. But apparently that was too much to ask. A city permit was also never pulled for the work. Who had the time to comply with that? For my trouble, the owner told me he would waive the labor costs for replacing some rotted wood on the garage, but the cost of the lumber would be $300 more than the original estimate. Wow. Ummm... thanks? In the end, the work was done properly and the siding looked good. But I did have to spend 90 minutes with my shop vac cleaning up debris and nails around the perimeter of my garage. When another company roofed my garage (2 layer tear off) six months earlier, I didn't have to clean-up anything... so I know it is possible for a contractor to properly clean-up the work area. I also didn't appreciate the fact that the bulbs in the flood lights on my house had been removed and not replaced. Strongly recommend finding a more professional company to handle your project!

  Called to get an estimate for some gutter repairs. I spoke to Jerry, who setup an appointment to come take a look and provide an estimate. They did not show up at the time of the appointment; I waited 30 minutes before calling their number (I figured they might be running late), but no one answered, so I left a voice message. I called again the next day, when I didn't receive a call back, but with no luck. Not sure why would they setup an appointment and not honor it. If you value your time, then do yourself a favor a hire someone who respects your time.

  Everything went great.  Darren came out several times to give estimates and help explain everything to me.  The guys who came out to do the work were great.  Even with a rain stoppage in the middle of the day, there got it all done in just one day.  Couldn't be happier, would use them again, and certainly recommend them.

  In the morning of February 7th, my living room ceiling began to leak.  I called Richard's Roofing and within 30 minutes they were there to remove the ice dams and snow from my roof and apply calcium.  The leaking stopped within 2 hours.  I was very pleased with their quick response and friendliness.

  Hansons Window & Siding of Detroit

  After having my windows replaced by Hansons in 2008, I decided to reach out to them again when I had roof problems.  I very specifically asked if the gutters could be taken care of at the same time, or at least plan for gutters to be attached after the roof was done.  I was told it would be no problem.  I was originally quoted a price of $6000 and told it could vary by a few hundred dollars depending on what the base roof looked like.  The day of the roof replacement, I got a call saying that it was going to be an additional $2000 to replace parts of the base.  I asked if it could be thoroughly documented because that was much more than I had been originally quoted.  I was told it would be no problem to document it.  
  At the end of the day, they "lost" the pictures they took of the base roof and could not prove why it had been an additional $2000.  They also installed the roof in such a way that I can not put gutters on my house.  They also caused my neighbor to get a flat tire by leaving so many nails out and about.
  When I called to inquire about getting a credit toward my account because of these problems, they literally laughed at me.
