AMotor City BuildersWhen we contacted Motor City Builders, Dave Poirier came to our home within 24 hours to examine our roof. He also drove my wife and me around the area to show us a wide variety of roofs that he had put on other homes as well as pointing out the pros and cons of different types of roofs. He made recommendations about the type of roof that would be best for our home. We couldn't have asked for better personal service as well as the professionalism and quality of the work done by the Motor City Builder's team. What impressed us the most was that the roofing team had been with Motor City Builders for several years and the quality of their work was extraordinary. The crew was conscientious, at our home before 7:00am every morning, and did a remarkable job of cleaning up every day. They had us come out periodically to examine their workmanship, which they were proud of.Dave Poirier also came out every day to check on the crew and the work on our home. They completed the job on time and within the promised budget. We couldn't have been more satisfied. The new roof and storm/screen door look awesome & increases the curb appeal of our home a lot. This was also our experience in the past when Motor City Builders installed new windows on our home, a new concrete driveway, siding, as well as bathroom remodeling. The thing I liked best about them was their honesty. He did not try to sell me things we did not need. We met him because my neighbor got his name from Angiies list. AAdvanced Roofing & SidingJoe and his team are what you’ve been looking for . We started working together on replacing my personal home’s roof ( shingles ), with a standing seam steel roof. I went through three contractors before finding Joe with Advanced Roofing. The other guys were crooks, liars, thieves , or just had insane prices . One stole my deposit and did zero work and another literally quoted me at $80,000 to have my roof done. Joe and his team did it for $30,000. It took some time on all the detailed cuts and fabrication but was absolutely worth it . I was so pleased with their work that he became my go to contractor . They also built a 60x66 pole barn next to my home from scratch. Not a kit barn from Menard’s. From scratch . It has full 4”+ concrete throughout , 8x8 main beams, two garage doors ( one is a semi truck door), pedestrian doors, windows, and also reconfigured my home’s electrical and ran power to the barn . They also facilitated earth-moving and driveway installation for the project. The entire project was approx $80,000. After this I hired him again for two more shingle roofs on rental properties. One for approx $14,000 and another for approx $10,000. Good quality work for a good price is hard to find. These guys will be straight-forward and honest with you. They will tell you the good and the bad. They will tell you what you can and can’t do on something and work with you to get your project accomplished. To the people that wrote negative comments: You’ve missed out on quality work for a good price and judging one on a color choice comment or not calling you back immediately is ridiculous . They’ve always had good communication with me. I will continue using advanced for my large renovation and construction projects. To date I have spent approximately $140,000 with them.- Spencer M.

Stimson Tile & Design has been installing tile and remodeling bathrooms, kitchens and basements since 2005. We are not your typical contractor. We go above and beyond for our customers. We are accustomed to working in high end homes and we are very detail oriented. We are not the cheapest contractor but we do great quality work.

ANick and his associates did a fantastic job. We had some water damage caused by a poorly installed roofing / shingles. The damage took years to become evident. They corrected the water damage, and roofing issue. From removing the old rotting boards, to painting the replacements. Nick gave us an estimate on the repairs that he could see. The contract was a per hour + supplies bases, because of possible unknowns after the demo of the old. There was some additional work that needed to be done, but after completion, the estimate was pretty much on the money. I emailed Ion Construction through Angie's list on a Sunday, and on Thursday the project was completed. Based on this project that Ion Construction took on, I would recommend them highly. When another project comes along, I will defiantly contact Nick for an estimate. Thanks Nick!

AWe were very pleased with the work of Motor City Builders. From the first call Matt was very informative and upfront. He was timely with giving an estimate and gave honest information about the timing of the project and possible hold ups of materials due to COVID. Fortunately, that did not prove to be an issue. The workers showed up on time each day and worked diligently throughout the day. Siding is a high priced project and Matt's price was well within our set budget. We recently had a roof done and upon them starting the siding they found some issues with the roof that weren't done quite right. We appreciate them being upfront and more importantly skilled to fix it and complete the siding with quality workmanship. Again, Matt was honest about what was needed and although there was additional cost to us it was a crisis averted. We have already happily given referrals to those who have asked.

We currently have 3 employees and 2 owners. One owner does the day to day work with the employees. We do subcontract out in fields that we are not licensed to do such as electrical work. We are licensed to build in the state of Michigan. We will invoice our customers abound acceptance of the quote. Our typical terms is 50% prior to starting the job and 50% at completion. We do accept credit cards, checks and cash. We currently don't offer financing.

ATom and his crew did an excellent job. The rebuild was performed is June 2018 and we could not be happier. The finished job was much more than I expected...professional, neat and clean. Tom spent a great deal of time and effort going the extra mile to ensure the rebuild will last. Pricing was very fair given the high quality of the work. Tom had transparent material pricing which was greatly appreciated. My wife and I would definitely use Built To Last again.

AIt has been a pleasure doing business with The Renewal Group. Scott Barnes gave us an all-inclusive quote for the work we wanted done. Scott, Josh and the team showed up every day, bright and early, and ready to work. They worked hard, methodically and consistently through the whole process. The team worked as a cohesive group. They were professional, conscientious, meticulous, courteous and very capable with an eye for detail. We were not nickeled and dimed throughout the project, all increases in cost were driven by our design changes and clearly discussed up front. They answered any questions we had graciously with full explanations. They treated our home as if it were their own. Things went very well and we were impressed with the quality of the work. So impressed in fact, we hired them to complete another project before they finished the first one. Based on our experience and the integrity they demonstrated I would recommend The Renewal Group without hesitation.

CThe deck and wheelchair ramp are very well built, sturdy and attractive. Once construction was started it went up fast. I have no complaints about the time the whole process took as we were in the middle of the pandemic and I knew a lot of places weren’t open. There is a piece of siding that they had cut and left hanging that they won’t finish even after talking with Pete and the office. I was told that a service call would be set up but it’s been over a month. One of the two gates that went on the deck broke before being put up (one gate is at the top of the steps and one at the top of the wheelchair ramp) They didn’t tell us it had been broken, they took the broken gate back by our garage and set it near the recycling bin. I saw one of the guys take the wood down the driveway but thought it was a wood pallet. Lenny questioned us after putting up the one gate if we were sure we had wanted two gates even though I had discussed this with him in person and with Pete by text and phone. We paid for the two gates with cash but Lenny never offered to give back half the cash. They did bring a new gate a few days later. I feel that they lied by not telling us it broke and I may not have known if they had taken the evidence with them. I found out a week or so later when it was time to put the recycle bin out to the curb.
