    Davis Outdoor Svcs LLC
Everything looks amazing! This project was a couple of years in the making. I got multiple quotes from various "recommended" companies, actually hiring two separate ones (who both backed out) and then finally settling on Rob Davis and Davis Outdoor Services. In hindsight, I wish I had gone with Rob from the start. I had seen the work he did on a driveway on my street and called him. He was not the cheapest quote, but definitely the most thorough in the quoting process. He was the only company that created a diagram of the project on paper so I could envision exactly where the new driveway would be. Being a woman and single mom, it is obvious when companies will try to take advantage of my lack of knowledge on something. Rob was one of the only ones that quoted me everything broken down line by line, then worked with me to take items off the quote (such as grass seed and things I could do myself) to get the pricing to fit my budget. This project needed to be completed for a graduation party at the house. Even during the busiest time for driveways, He made sure to work the schedule and got the driveway done way in advance of the party so I had no worries about everything looking great. I will tell you that I really asked A LOT of questions before they started, during and after. With every question, he took the time answer everything and didn't leave the conversation without making sure I felt very comfortable. The work crew was a father and son that have been doing this for years. When the project started I thought that I might work from home to oversee what they were doing. I quickly learned that was not necessary as I trusted them completely. They treated my property as if it was their own. Rob stopped by multiple times during the process to check on the crew as well as check in with me to make sure I was 100% happy and I was. I was a tough customer and I am very happy with the outcome. So much so that I am thinking of hiring them to do other projects needed.

    Silverback Asphalt
Mark and his crew put new asphalt on my driveway and expanded the parking area. While making the foundation for the expanded parking area they ran into problems due to excessive tree roots. Instead of just paving over the roots he called me up and said that it would be better for the tree and the driveway if they just made the new area compacted gravel. Even though it cost him more in time he did the right thing and put in the correct solution instead of just covering it up and making it look nice. He delivered on time and on budget. He and his crew were friendly and professional and did a great job of cleaning and everything look nice. I will defiantly hire Silverback Asphalt again.

    Affordable Dry Basement
The quoting process was quick and easy. Ben showed up at the time we agreed and gave a good assessment, explaining what was happening and how to get it dry. Their quote lived up to their namesake, definitely affordable. The job was set up for a couple weeks later. The crew was excellent; all professionals seemed to do everything right. They showed up exactly on time, got setup quickly and were careful not to mess the Mrs.' floors. They worked efficiently, effectively doing exactly as they said they would and finished with a good clean-up, right on time. Highly recommend.

    Pool Busters
Heather, Doug, Mitch, Dan, Mike, and Duane, all were excellent and amenable to work with.  They were graceful with a couple of challenges that we all worked-through well together, tree-in-the-way and next-door neighbor encroachment.
My wife and I were very pleased with their informative and helpful professionalism, from quoting through demolition / removal.  My wife was especially impressed with their careful respect and treatment of our home and property, including care around landscaping to complete clean-up and removal of all debris and remnants.
We gladly recommend them to anyone.

    Cregger Plumbing, Heating & Cooling
Both jobs went well which is not my issue.
Their pricing seems to be fair from the quotes that I did before we entered into a contract with them.  The low grade on the pricing that I gave is the way they apply their discounts, and needs too be clarified in their advertisements .
When our 1st job was completed and we paid, there was no "Senior Discoiunt" given.  Before we had them do the 2nd job, I called the office about this and they said that, at the time that the final invoice is being created after the completion of the work, we must make mention of the discount at that time.
I mentioned the discount on our 2nd job, and the tech said ok, then went out to compute our final bill.  When he came back he said their discount is only on labor and was only $40.00.  So instead of  getting $440.00 discount (total of 1st and 2nd job), we only got a $40.00 discount.
Their work crews and the equipment they use are top notch, but the way they apply the discount  doesn't seem right.

    Rooter MD Plumbing and Heating
I have no complaints about the plumbing work, although the price was high for what was done.

My problem was the very poor cement work.  I now have a cement hump with rough edges where the excavation was done.  If this is their job every day, then they should be proficient in laying cement.

    D & J Septic Services Inc
I've called numerous times in the past month and left voice messages about wanting to obtain a quote for installing an engineered field but no one has ever returned my call. Had my request been tank cleaning, I would've scheduled online, but the nature of my request requires that I speak with someone live. Just today, I submitted an inquiry via their contact form online. Will see how it goes and I'll adjust my rating accordingly. The company was regarded highly by our septic inspector, thus my trying continuously to reach them. Sigh.

They finally replied today that they do not install engineered fields. I've adjusted my rating from D to B accordingly.

    STEVE'S CONCRETE
Steve was extremely thorough and professional.  He showed up, I explained what I wanted (a "horseshoe type") driveway to enable easier exiting to a busy roadway.  Steve took his measurements and emailed me with a quote the next day.His quote beat the other estimates received. In addition he had to get a permit and subsequently needed an inspection because the city wanted to ensure the drive apron was properly centered on the intersecting street directly across from my driveway apron, all according to their wishes.  We agreed on the price however the work had to wait two weeks because of the inclement weather, but on the "start date" Steve and his crew of three men were there with their equipment and lumber for forms and stone and had the ground excavated dirt removed and formed up in a day.  Day two came with the concrete delivered and poured, leveled and finished, and OKed from the inspector.  Two days later the forms were removed, inspected and accepted by me, check delivered.  Steve and his crew were extremely professional, pleasant, and were exceptional in the way they cleaned up after themselves.  We are extremely pleased with the quality of the work as were others; since within a week of having it completed no less than three men stopped by to look at the work because of how nice a job was done.  All three were provided Steve's number.

    Tim Brown's Excavating
We found Browns Excavating through another referral service but are so pleased with the work they did, we had to add them to Angie's List. We called them to demolish and remove an old fireplace chimney, and a badly cracked and shifted concrete patio. Tim Brown came out the day after we called and gave us a fair price that was within our budget for the demolition work. Tim told us exactly what to expect during the demolition and we all agreed what his scope would be. He put us into his schedule for the 9th of June and called us the night before he was due here (June 8th) and confirmed his arrival for the next morning. They arrived at 9 am on the 9th and began the project. The ground on the east side of our home was much softer (and wetter) than any of us had realized and this development caused Tim to resort to using a different piece of equipment than he had originally planned for the debris removal. Meanwhile another employee, Steve, worked diligently to gingerly 'disassemble' the chimney above the roof line to avoid damaging the shingles around the chimney penetration. Tim and another employee (Mike?) ran the machines and dump truck to haul away the debris. Due to the unforeseen ground issues and the solidness of the chimney construction, the job took about half a day longer than had been originally estimated. Tim and his crew were very willing to work with us and ensure our satisfaction before they left. In all, we are VERY happy with the work Tim and his crew did for us, and will hire them again.
