    WaterBGone Basement Waterproofing
After a large number of widely different quotes ranging in technology and price by tens of thousands of dollars, I had hired a structural engineer, Rick Hamman from Sheppard Engineering, to produce specs to address lateral movement in the walls of my basement that had resulted in cracks (no water) in my poured concrete foundation. Joe won my bid, and he performed all the work to spec, pulled appropriate city permits, was responsive to many phone calls, had a great crew, and worked within my needs as I prepared to list my house for sale. Joe is probably the most honest and fair contractor I've ever worked with. He wanted the job to be done exactly to the detailed engineering report, so he hired my engineer out of his own pocket to come in and walk him through the report leading up to the work; Rick was excellent but not cheap (worth every penny). Every job always has issues, and Joe was up front and fair in dealing with them, which is how I really judge a contractor/service. I can't recommend Joe's WaterBGone enough, I've already recommended him to friends and perhaps the highest praise, my realtor has referred him to clients and colleagues.

It went very well. The person who did the inspection & gave me the quote was very courteous & professional, He explained everything very well. They were pretty busy so it took 2 months before they could do the work. The actual work was done to my satisfaction. The crew did a very good job and cleaned up well afterwards.

We had a french drain and a sump pump put in. The basement was never quite dry after they put the French drain. We called to complain and they sent out the repair man. I said yes the basement was damp before but only when it rained, and now that was damp all the time. I tried to explain to him that the basement was only wet when we a had major rain fall out side. He said that we could purchase a $2100 dehumidifier. When we complained about that. He told us his boss said that we could purchase it for a have it for $1800 and there was a service fee I think around $150. We said we where not going to pay a service fee. In the spring when it raining a lot we started getting water coming through the floor. They came out again and told us to add feeder lines or paint the floor with this special water proof paint. So we painted it. Once again after one of the heavy rains water came up threw the floor. Maybe more work needs to be done they should had said that before they did the job. We trusted the quote they gave us. We trusted what they told us, about what needed to be done to water proof the basement. They where not the least cheapest quote we had or the most expensive.

    Stay Dry Basement Waterproofing Inc
The StayDry inspector, Michael A., came out to my home on September 27th at the prearranged time to estimate a water problem that I was having outside the home. He indicated that a french drain would solve the water accumulation problem that I was experiencing and basement waterproofing was premature at this point. I asked for a quote on both the French drain outside and the inside basement waterproofing. He agreed to send me both. I called Michael A. after waiting 10 days for the quote. He apologized and said that he was very busy because of the size of his region. He said that he would email the quote out to me that night. I received nothing in the next seven days. I sent him 2 emails requesting an attachment and placed a call that was ignored. I do not want to do business with a company that doesnt have the courage and courtesy to say Not Interested to a potential customer.

I was greatly disappointed. The gentleman that came to our home had exceptionally good customer service skills and was super pleasant to work with. Unfortunately, he misdiagnosed the cause of our leak and caused us to unnecessarily spend money that we could not afford to waste. He stated that our drain tile was clogged and was causing water to seep into our basement. He stated that we needed to get our drain tile snaked and unclogged. We immediately called a company to come out that same day to snake our drain tile. There was NO CLOG anywhere!! And our basement leak continued. I would not hire them again. The money we wasted needed to be spent on actually repairing the leak which was a cracked support beam.

[*** Link removed ***] Since that post, the building inspector has passed they work. As I write they are finishing pouring the gravel and will be pouring the concrete, finishing the job in 3 working days. Just in time for the first thaw! You can see the water coming in to the new drain trench.

    HomeSpec BasementFix
Got a quote from Scott Ballard. I also received competing quotes from other service providers. Home Spec was the highest bid (although all of the bids were close in price). I chose to go with HomeSpec based upon reviews from Angie's List and other online resources. My home is small so the job only took two days to complete. The crew that did the job was lead by Ryan Loop and his crew did an excellent job! They filled three cracks in the foundation walls, and installed a new perimeter drainage system using PVC drain pipe and a sump pump. Prior to the install I had some questions that were answered to my satisfaction by Scott. While the work was being done Ryan answered some more questions I had about the sump pump system as I have never lived in a home that has had a sump pump. I am very pleased with the finished work. When Ryan's crew put in new cement in the basement where the floor had been removed, they did an excellent job in finishing the cement to a level and smooth surface.

    The Crack Team
Solved a problem that had existed for twenty years, as a small leak, and more recently as a large leak. I had tried other remedies, not knowing that the source of the water in my basement was a set of very fine cracks in the wall. Others would have charged thousands of dollars for a repair that did the job completely for under $900. Try the Crack Team first to avoid a more costly repair.

I can't say enough great things about working this company. If youre looking for the short version of the review here it is they were professional, courteous, efficient, and effective in their follow-up and communication. They did great work for a great price and I highly recommend them if you need basement waterproofing work done. If youre looking for the detailed version of the review see below: We had recently purchased a home and two months in (after the first heavy rains/snowfall of winter) we noticed a heavy leak in our basement as well as water pooling in an old sump pump well (that we had been assured was old and didn't need a sump pump since there was one already installed on the other side of the basement). After calling a few different vendors to come and take a look to diagnose the issue, we finally called HomeSpec after finding them on Angie's List. I initially contacted them after-hours, but was still able to "talk" to someone via their chat feature on their website. Once the individual on the other end of the chat got some basic information from me, I was told someone would contact me first thing the next morning to schedule an appointment. Sure enough, before 8 am the next morning, I received a call back from Ingrid (who also apparently was the one monitoring the chat feature after hours give that woman a raise!) That's basically the type of service received from the first initial call to the last and final follow-up call from the company. Everyone I spoke to was kind, professional, and expedient in all responses to me. Dan came to the house to do the initial inspection and draw up a proposal for work. He worked with us to identify possible solutions and worked out different financing options so we could choose the one that best fit our situation (also a bonus with working with this company - they offer financing plans through EnerBank USA). Our sump pump was installed separately from the waterproofing work because it was something we needed done immediately whereas the outside waterproofing had to wait for certain weather conditions to be met. HomeSpec made sure to expedite the installation of the sump pump for us and the team that handled that installation was great to work with. Ryan Loop and his team (Chris and Cody) did the actual work to waterproof the outside of the house and were also extremely professional, courteous, and thorough. They even stayed till 7 pm on the 2nd day of the job to complete it! All in all, this company does great work and if my basement needs additional work done, theyll be my first call!

Their representative called me within 2 hours. When I explained the problem, he advised me as to what I should and that it was really a landscaping job. I really appreciated their quick response and his honesty - even though they did not get any business out of it.
