    Ground Up Appliance Repairs
I purchased an Angie's List coupon for a large appliance repair from Ground Up Appliance Repairs. He came to diagnose the dishwasher as scheduled. Things went south after that... the part took three weeks to come in. I had to call and check the status of the part before the return visit was scheduled, which was cancelled. It was rescheduled and he came out to repair the dishwasher. It appeared to be working when he left; however, later I discovered that my kitchen counter top was detached from the lower cabinet and on an angle. A large piece of laminate was missing from the counter top edge and my laminate flooring was damaged also. So now I have to repair my counter top, etc. and my dishwasher still does not work.

    Vin-Tech Appliances
Terrible! Vinod Vohra came to repair our dryer and the next day I put a load in and everything was RUINED! The front wasn't replaced properly, so the clothes caught in the seem and ripped. Also, there were black oil stains on everything. I called and Vinod promised to return the money we paid, but after several phone calls it still hasn't been refunded.

Repairman came within two hours of my call. He diagnosed the problem almost immediately and completed the repair in a very short time. He disassembled the entire freezer side of the side-by-side refrigerator, removed ice that had built up due to a faulty defrost mechanism, replaced the part, cleaned up the mess he had made along with many years of accumulated debris (self-defrosting freezers don't often get cleaned), and left it sparkling clean and in working order.

They did great.  They admitted that it only needed cleaning and that probably nothing else was wrong with it.  It has worked great ever since.  We appreciate the honesty and will use them again because of this!!

    Appliance Doctor Service
Our self-cleaning double-oven shut off in mid-cycle, leaving the door locked (which meant that we could not tell anyone the model number for service) and no display.  Wayne fit us into his schedule the same day as our call.  He arrived promptly at the appointment time, pulled the oven,  disassembled the control panel, and determined the cause of the problem, all within about 10 minutes.  Fortunately, it was only a thermal fuse.  He checked his supply on his truck, did an internet search to confirm that the part was correct for our 20+ year-old oven, and installed it.  The unit was reassembled and back in the wall within 30 minutes of his arrival (your time may vary).
Additionally, he offered suggestions to avoid this problem in the future (don't use the self-cleaning feature on a unit this old, because the fan might not work as well as it should).  He also checked the actual temperature of both ovens and re-calibrated the unit.  He left the area exactly as it was when he arrived.
We're very satisfied with this experience, and we will use them again for future service calls.

    Speedway Refrigeration & Appliance Repair
Mr. Moss is a very professional gentleman.  He responded to my initial contact within a matter of hours, scheduled an appointment for the same week, showed up promptly, diagnosed and fixed the problem and followed up with a phone call to make sure I was satisfied.
I will definitely ask for his help in the future and recommend him very highly!

    Speedway Refrigeration & Appliance Repair

My dishwasher quit working in the middle of a cycle and did not drain. All the electronics were out, so I called Mr. Moss, and he agreed to come out within a few days. He arrived on time and began work. After spending 45 minutes to empty the water, clean the pump and the filter, he replaced the thermal overload protection in the control panel. Then he put the dishwasher back together and ran some water through it. I was charged approximately $160 for this service (including my Angie's List discount).

However, Mr. Moss failed to get to the root cause of the problem. When the dishwasher did the exact same thing less than 2 weeks later, I requested an estimate to replace the pump. He reluctantly gave me a quote over the phone of $280 which was supposedly less the price of the second service call. Why would I pay for more than the cost of the new parts if the dishwasher was not fixed properly the first time?

Another thing that was unprofessional...when I went to pay him with a check, he asked me for part of his payment ($40) as cash because he was unsure he could get to the bank before it closed.

So, I would not recommend Speedway and am looking for another repairman to fix my dishwasher right the first time.

They're pretty reasonable I guess. They were recommended by the appliance store that I purchased some appliances from. They pretty much evaluated it so the parts cost $300 and get a new appliance because it's disposable. They're pretty good.

It did not cost me anything because it was under warranty. It is probably the 10th time we have had them come to our house. They are good at calling the first thing in the morning letting you know what time they will be coming. The past 5 appliance repairs they have done, they send a man out here, he is very good. I like that I am dealing with the same man, he is very competent. Probably they schedule by area. By the time he comes, he already knows the appliance.

They installed it today, and everything went well.  They match Lowe's pricing so I was able to negotiate free delivery and free haul away.  We have consistently used ABC for all sorts of appliances and electronics.
