    One Stop Auto
I was suspicious and took the car to another (reputable) mechanic to have it looked at.  THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT other than that the noise I heard was because two of the lug nuts on the front passenger side tire were missing and a third was loose.  The other shop fixed the problem for a nominal charge and the noise is gone.  Not only did the mechanics at Lansing One Stop misdiagnose  what was wrong, but the actual problem was a very dangerous condition.  I would NEVER EVER take my car there again, and I would not recommend anyone else doing so either.

    Mike's Auto Care
they got it in right away and it was fixed a day later.  Mike called me as soon as he could tell me something he didn't recommend any thing beyond what I needed to keep my car running.  The best part is he doesn't treat me like a women who shouldn't know anything about cars. that is a sure way to turn me away is to treat me like i'm just a women.

Exceptional service. I own a 2003 Subaru Legacy that I purchased at Williams. For the last 10 years they have serviced my car and I am more than pleased every time. Whenever I had a problem they got me right in so the car could be looked at. I was always offered transportation to my workplace or a loaner car. They always provided estimates and if another problem was found I was notified as to the problem and cost prior to the service being rendered. Staff is exceptionally friendly and courteous. I will not have my car serviced anywhere else.

They're good at their services. They're on time and you're usually in and out of there within 20 to 30 minutes. You wait in the lobby and they always have coffee or donuts or something like that. So it's a friendly environment.

    Charlotte Maxi Muffler
I just had the best vehicle breakdown of my life! I hate taking my car for repairs... But today was a different story. I tend to procrastinate on necessary auto Maintenance and repair. Our brakes had been making a scraping sound for at least a month, and my husband kept asking me to bring the van in To have them fixed. I asked some friends for recommendations, and had two service shops in mind for the repair. One of them was Maxi Muffler in downtown Charlotte. I had literally JUST passed Maxi, when my brakes made this loud clicking sound. The brakes locked shut, so I had to force the gas pedal a little harder to get the car moving at the green light. I went around the block, deciding that today was the day... I couldn't put it off any longer. I was headed to Maxi Muffler immediately. At the second light of my route, the brakes locked again. The brake pedal went all the way to the floor at the next intersection, which was luckily just a block away from salvation. The brakes weren't working, and I was pretty scared. After safely parking my vehicle, I went into the shop. I never know what kind of reception to expect at auto repair shops, so I was nervous about what they were going to say to me. (I have had some pretty lousy treatment from auto mechanics... I hate being scolded like a child. The cost of repairs is usually sufficient punishment for my procrastination) I was greeted by the owner, Eric Stiver. He was friendly and courteous, and refrained from giving me a lecture about waiting too long to service my vehicle. Eric was good-natured and kind, while he informed me of the terrible damage he suspected on our brakes. He also informed me that this was my lucky day. They had an open bay available, and they were able to inspect the brakes immediately. They were experiencing an unusual break in the day, so my timing was perfect. Another reason I put off going in for service, is never knowing how long I will have to wait. We only have one vehicle, so leaving my car overnight is really not an option for our family. I was relieved to learn that the brakes could be done today. The repair took about 2.5 hours, and they were very fair in their estimate. Initially, they thought we needed to replace the calipers, rotors and pads on the back wheels. They were able to save the calipers, allowing room in my budget to replace the rotors and pads on the front brakes also. I really appreciated this consideration, since money is tight and a complete brake job saves me another trip to the repair shop. I wasn't looking forward to coming back to do the front brakes, and now I won't have to replace them for a couple of years. He stayed within our budget and gave me a more complete repair job than we had discussed. They also rotated my tires and topped off the motor oil, at no extra charge. Eric and his crew went above and beyond my expectations. I will definitely return for other maintenance and repairs (when necessary), and will be recommending Maxi Muffler to my friends in the Charlotte area. This scenario could have gone in a totally different direction. I am grateful for the excellent service, fair price and prompt repair job. If my brakes had to fail (and they did), I'm so glad it happened around the corner from Maxi Muffler. :) I can not stress enough, how important it is to treat your customers with kindness and respect. It really makes it less painful to pay for auto repairs, when you feel like the service people care. Now if we could just get someone to make auto shop waiting rooms to be more inviting and comfortable, I might just keep up on little things like replacing brakes, belts, etc! (I know that is too much to wish for, unless you are willing to pay the extra bucks to go to a dealership).

    Eastside Foreign Car Clinic
I've had a clunking noise in the back end of my car for some time.  I took it to a dealer who diagnosed it and gave us an estimate.  We've know and have done business with Eastside since the 1980's and trust them implicitly.
We took the car to Dean and told him what we knew; asked him to check it out and give us an estimate which he did.  He and Chris spent a lot of time with it, keeping it overnight because they weren't entirely comfortable with the information, or their first impression.
They decided to explore the area and found that instead of needing the stabilizer, bushing and linkage replaced, they determined that all that was needed was the bushings.  It saved us money and time!  Once again, Eastside gave us quality work.
I started going to Eastside in the late 80's when my new Subaru developed a problem, the day after I had taken it to  the local Subaru dealer for a check up.  The dealer said there were metal shavings in the carburetor and it would cost me $400 to fix.  Mind you, the car was fine before I took it there.
Frustrated and upset, I found Eastside.  They took my car, did not find ANY of the problems the dealer indicated; they did, however, they adjusted something that had been done improperly by the local Subaru dealer and my car was fine.  They charged me...NOTHING!  From then on I took all of my cars to them, I knew I had found a business that is fair, honest and does great work...and I told everyone.  You can trust Eastside!!
BTW, I don't know why I have to provide a house address of where the work was performed when it was done at the business

When I arrived at Champion I was greated properly by a woman salesperson. I had asked for the manger but she insisted that she could handle whatever I needed. I presented the PT Cruisr to her with the title in hand (Champion sold the car to my brother) and offer to sell it even at less that his pay off. Of course I would have to make up the differnce in cash because my brother was flat broke. She wrote down all the information then asked for me to wait while she presented my offer to the sales manager. In the mean time I stepped outside on the East side of the sales floor and called on my cell phone to the borther from Goergia. I explained to him where I was and when I expected to be back from the dealership. We were litterally packing his belongings right then. I fully expected to sell the car outright. It did have very little rocker panel damage that I was prepaired to pay the $500 deductable and had the cash on hand to pay $1500 to make the deal. However, the car had only 53,000 miles on it and other than the rocker panel damage and the interier cleanup the car was very well maintained. And all the service was done at Champion Dodge. So, in short, Champion had an opprotunity to profit.
Now, back to the phone call outside. I believe I was harrassed by other sales personnel, especially a big blonde guy who sneakered at me and spit on the ground very close to me as I re-entered the sales floor. Not to mention all of four salesmen outside were smoking and carrying on unprofessionally. But a I think I know why. My brother, as I had said previously, has Parkingson's and walks, talks, and acts odd. It isn't his fault. So, I'm thinking as many times as he visited the dealership he exposed his disabilities to the dealership personnel.
When the salesperson came back to her desk she said the dealer wasn't interested in the car even though I explained I have cash to make up for whatever they wanted. Still she said no way. I so when I approached the sales manager sitting at his desk/counter and asked why they woudln't help me out he snickered and smiled and said no way. I took one more step toward him on the other side of the counter thing they have. He then ordered out of the dealership! I was in no way a threat as he imagined.
I took the car to Crippen Buick GMC. They took the car with the damage and offered to pay the $500 deductable with nothing out of my pocket. I had my brother sign off on the title, MSU credit uniion took the lean off when Crippen paid the balance and it was over in twenty minutes. What relief. Did I mention the car sold at Crippen for something like $8000 and the payoff was, check this out, was $5300 plus the $500 deductable. Clearly, Champion missed out. And in the mean time lost all of my Jeep pruchases I will make in the future. Did I mention my father-in-law is a retired Chrysler employee? I can't and won't tell him about this. He would more than likely give Champion a piece of his mind. And that would be a bad thing. Have a good day. And Merry Christmas.
