Water And Smoke Damage reviews in East Lansing

Palmer has worked all over our neighborhood and provided examples of their work .. neighbors were pleased to discuss and were uniformly enthusiastic. So we hired them. On time, in budget. Foreman checked in often on the job. Tradesmen were able, friendly, informative, and cleaned up the site when they left (except for sawdust that was under the snow!) I'm already getting myself on their schedule for more work.

These guys are so good, I hired them twice! Albert and his crew are very good. They are personable and will bend over backwards to meet your needs. Albert came to my home and personally inspected my roof. He actually got on a ladder and inspected it! They installed a new roof on my home and repaired water damage in my dining room. I am extremely satisfied. I also had them install a new roof on my fathers house. Great team, I would highly recommend them.

    Carpentry Plus Building Inc
We cannot say enough good things about Carpentry Plus. We were extremely pleased with their expertise, professionalism, and work. In addition, Brad and his family are so friendly and personable that we felt like they were old friends. We hired them to put vinyl siding on our 2-story wood house and 2-car garage. As the work proceeded we discovered that there was extensive water damage to the wood in several places on both the house and garage. These included the chimney, the three-season room, and the bottom plate around the perimeter of the garage walls. As a master carpenter Brad Green resolved these issues in a creative and effective way. After replacing all the rotted wood in these areas, he installed flashing around the garage and closed-in three-seasons room to help prevent future damage. The three-seasons room was in such seriously bad shape that it almost needed to be rebuilt. All these issues added a lot of extra work and time to the project. Brad let us know every step of the way what was happening with the job and we were grateful that Brad agreed to take the time to do the extra work--well beyond the original agreement. We have not had any water in the garage since the work was completed and we are so happy to have our three-seasons room repaired. And the siding looks beautiful generating compliments from our neighbors. Really great attention to detail!

Everything went OK with the gutter guards and gutters.  However, the attic insulation was a disappointment.  I have moisture problems in the attic and made it very clear that I wanted baffles installed and was generally worried about having proper ventilation in the attic.  The person who did the attic did an OK job insulating everything with blow-in insulation, BUT the baffles were not installed well and are clearly plugged with insulation.  I don't know if they were just hoping I wouldn't be able to check easily, or what.  Anyway, the soffit vents have been rendered useless -- I'll have to pay someone else who cares more to come out and properly install baffles/build boxes to keep the insulation off of the soffit vents.
My C grade is A for the gutters + D for the attic insulation.

    Aaron's Restoration

Timothy Fish came out to the property at night upon hearing of the damage. He responded to a call from my insurance agent based on their past work together and my immediate need for assistance. Mr. Fish explained what work would be done and arranged for the work crews to arrive the next day. Unfortunately, though the work was completed as promised for the most part, it took significantly longer to complete the job than was quoted due to heavy work loads from unusually high numbers of ice dam backups this year. Contributing to the long completion time was some demolition crew members did not show up for the job and did not tell Mr. Fish or other management they were not coming.

Eventually all work was completed, but mold was found to have been overlooked by their work crews, and now that the claim has been settled by my insurance company, the insurance company refuses to pay the estimated $1,000 in mold remediation, tear-out, and rebuild expenses that could have been paid had Aaron's Restoration's crew found the mold in the first place. This situation is unresolved at this time, but Mr. Fish has indicated he will speak with the owner of the company to see if anything can be done to remedy my mold problems in light of the unsatisfactory overall experience reported above.

Throughout the process, Mr. Fish has been diligent in acknowledging my dissatisfaction at the company's lack of performance despite some of the situation being beyond his or ownership's control (e.g. labor force issues), and validating my complaints. I trust Mr. Fish personally and wish Aaron's Restoration luck in remedying their labor issues so that future customers do not experience a similar situation of and quot;over-promise and under-deliverand quot; as I experienced. I look forward to revising this review should their company come through with mold remediation, tear-out, and rebuild assistance for the mold areas that were missed prior to the insurance company's final settlement payment.

Three times, storm water back-up into the finished out, carpeted basement and 1 broken boiler heat pipe in the carpeted guest room in the basement. They completely dried out the basement including the carpet then re-laid and cleaned the carpet. This time, an ice dam on the roof caused water to go through the plaster ceiling on to the hardwood floor in the living room.

    McCardel Restoration LLC
We have dealt with McCardel a few times now and every time has been great. They are very prompt, very friendly, do outstanding work at a fair price and finish the job as expected. I really can't say enough good about them. Every time we used them, they took care of everything and I did not have to call 4 or 5 different places to get things done. All of the workers they sent were nice, clean and most importantly, knowledgable about the issues and solutions. I would use them again anytime and would highly recommend them to anyone!

Our basement was flooded. We called AmeriPro to come in and do the clean up and repair work. The crew responded right away for a call made on a Saturday, and came 2 hours later and started exacting the water and removing parts of the basement that suffered water damage (baseboard of one room, carpet liner), and brought in fans to dry out the area. They also treated the area for potential mold. They came two days later to check on the drying and decided to leave a couple of the fans for one more day to ensure that the whole area is dried.
They also did the repair work to replace the baseboard, repainted the wall and baseboard, and relined the carpet. They were punctual, efficient, and courteous.

They were completely unresponsive. Perhaps they have gone out of business.
