  • So, the care provided seemed to be good quality. But, our concern is with their not too subtle up-selling of their prepaid wellness services, which only offer a minor discount on any actual treatment such as that for an upper respiratory illness or eye infection. So, you're really only pre-paying for vaccinations and, with the plus, neutering. We had a kitten find us and adopt us during a country drive, but we have adult cats at home. Happened on a Saturday, so we were not able to take the kitten to our usual vet (who has very very reasonable rates). Unwilling to take a kitten home without basic health clearance, we headed to Banfield. The staff and vet were kind and thorough, but it is CLEARLY their job to push (softly...) their prepaid wellness plan. By the time we paid for the kitten's exam, treatment, and opted for the plan we'd spent at least 4 times what we would have expected based on our own experience with independent country vets. We've been warned that every time we take the kitten back, Banfield will attempt to find additional, noncovered services to provide at additional charges. So, we intend to firmly inform them that we must individually and specifically authorize EVERY treatment BEFORE it is provided. No blanket permission. Their appointment approach is not what we'd like either. Just went for a follow up only to be told that mornings are for drop-off. In room / in person appointments are made in the afternoon. It would have been nice to be provided the choice when the appointment was set. Looking back, we highly regret taking the kitten there and purchasing the plan, etc. If we had it to do again, we would have just isolated the kitten as best we could and taken him to our usual vet on Monday. Live and learn.

  • I don't think she anymore expensive than anyone else but she's very good.

    Everything is excellent. You rarely wait more than five minutes.

    She is highly knowledgeable, explains things thoroughly you know will show you x rays will do whatever needs to be done and so I really that the cat is in good hands. When I tell my son about what's being done he also says she's a very good vet so someone has a cat in another city also thinks she does a really good job.

    She's thorough.

  • Dr. Thimmig is wonderful to work with. I was concerned my dog picked up kennel cough after recently being kenneled. He came out to the car to check her and quickly determined that she was not infected. He did determine that she had a cough, just not kennel cough, and called in a prescription right away.

  • We've been visiting Haslett Animal Hospital and Dr. Wyatt for almost two years. Their care is very attentive and pragmatic. When the time came for my very senior dog to cross the rainbow bridge, Dr. Wyatt even cam to my home to put him down. They really strive to offer evidence-based care. The young guy still loves going to see Dr. Wyatt!

  • I walked into the doctors office was met with very polite staff at his office and did not wait long. we discussed our foster dogs problems he came up with a plan and it has worked and because of the doctor we will adapt our foster dog. I also have another dog that is eight years old and has seen many other doctors office but he is the the best. For an hour appt just over 40 dollars very good price but I love my dogs and price is not the main concern care and caring of the Dogs is. He is the best doctor that I have been to and I have been to three others he is given us hope.

  • I had to give my cat away because my wife is allergic t it. But I was very pleased with the vet that I brought my cat to. They just seem very family oriented. They seem to have a real love and personal stake in your animal.

  • I've been going to Dr. Missy since I got my cats 13 years ago. The care and caring of every employee has always been exceptional. When my female developed cancer in her mouth about six months ago, Dr. Missy helped me decide a course of action. Rhody hated her vet visits, even though they loved and dissed over her. When the time came to euthanize her, Dr. Missy and her associate came to my house so Rhody wouldn't have to spend her last moments in terror. I can't tell you how much their kindness and compassion meant to me. They love animals as much as their owners.

  • The initial visit and puppy check-up was very good. They seemed to provide good care, and the vet was very responsive to all of our questions and concerns.
    However, in order to get the puppy's injections, they required individual appointments - with only one shot per appointment. At each of these individual appointments they also required a and quot;well puppyand quot; check up, costing $42, regardless of the amount of time between those injections/check-ups. This required us to pay the check-up cost, in addition to the injection fee, every few weeks until the various injections were finished.
    When we asked whether we could get the injections without the additional check up, the person scheduling the appointment responded that they always do the check up. When we asked whether other vets did the same, we were told that we could: and quot;Go and buy the shot yourself and give the dog the injection, but your puppy could die in front of you.and quot;
    My wife and I both feel that this response is completely out of line. To make things worse, the employee was completely unapologetic and reiterated that she felt her answer was and quot;true.and quot;
    The employee then stated that the fee for the wellness check alternates by visit, as the vaccinations are given by a vet tech every-other visit. However, this statement runs counter to what was stated previously in the conversation, and also runs counter to previous bills, which did not wave the fee for the wellness check.
    We will be switching vets, immediately. There is no excuse for that type of answer in response to a legitimate question, and it suggests to me that they are knowingly overcharging for at least some visits because, by the employee’s own admission, the $42 check up is not necessary with every injection.

  • The grades on this review reflect my recent experiences with the clinic. This past year, the clinic has changed its philosophy regarding client/patient care to a “revolving door” practice – get them in, check them out, recommend services, and get on to the next patient quickly. At my last appointment (after Dr. Surch was unavailable), I do not know how many times I told the vet tech and the veterinarian about the sores in the back of my cat’s mouth. The vet never looked at the back of her mouth and continued to lecture me on the need for a dental – which I could not afford at that time. Finally, during our conversation, it dawned on the vet, and she seemed truly surprised, that I had opened my cat’s mouth to look at what was going on for myself before bringing her in to the clinic.
    As soon as Dr. Surch finds a new practice, I will once again take my animals to see her for their care. In the meantime, I will be checking out other local veterinary clinics when my cats and dog need to be evaluated, vaccinated, or for any other problem that might arise.

  • Dr. Meining took her time getting to know my dog and me. Luckily, Bryn did not have a UTI and Dr. Meining spent quite a bit of time going over every suggestion of how to keep my dog more comfortable during this time of year and making sure she answered my questions or addressed my concerns.
    I would happily return to Dr. Meining with my other animals, but her clinic’s pricing is more than I can afford on a regular basis at this time.
