    Popp, Dr. Christopher G.
Dr. Popp has been our physician for many years. He has time to listens to his patients and gives excellent care. If you have a problem that requires a specialist, he refers you to the best available. Additionally he's usually available for any questions or concerns you may have. Their are 3-4 doctors in this family practice so one is always on call if Dr. Popp is unavailable.

    Popp, Dr. George C.
He's a great guy; I've been going to him for years. If you look at the comments that are on Angie's List you will see that they said he has a mature sense of humor. He does sense of humor, but I wouldn't call it a mature sense of humor; I call it quick wit. I like him. He may rub some people the wrong way, but I really like him. I like the fact that he's professional and I like the fact that he's not a doctor that thinks he's a be all, end all. He plugs you in to good specialist if you need them. He's responsive and is a people person: he sits and listens. He's great with children and is a young doctor. That office took a little getting used to; they're a little more by the book, but once you get to know them they really warm up to you. They're great.

    Umlauf, M Natacha
I loved our previous doctor. Dr. Umlauf was friendly, but scatter-brained, which showed up with problems in the treatment of our sons. Now, we didn't have difficult issues, just the same basic stuff everyone has. My first son was (is) very healthy, but he was in day care, and he got ear infections very often during his first year. They were always very quick to prescribe antibiotics (which I don't agree with, personally), but they never scheduled follow-up visits after the prescription was up, and me as a first time Mom, didn't know I should go back. Now I think the recurrent infections were a continuation of the same one that never properly went away. They prescribed ear tubes in the Spring of the second year. I refused, as summer was coming up to see if it would go away on its own, and it did. No more ear infections and my son didn't have to go through unnecessary surgery. My second son was born soon after. He was at the first percentile and at subsequent visits, Dr. Umlauf flip-flopped from telling me (literally), not to worry about it, my husband is small and it is just his stature, to telling me that I didn't feed him enough and I was starving him. As he refused to drink anything from a bottle (his whole life, he never went to a bottle despite caregivers trying several times a day), and only breastfeeding, and me as a working mom, who made 4 visits to his day care every day for 9 months, so he would never go more than 2 hours without eating, I took this very personally. She would try to calculate growth rates and weight gains from the last visit in her head and determine if he was growing fast enough. The problem was, she often got the math wrong, and I would have to question her. This was very concerning to me, as half the time she was lecturing me that he was not growing and even diagnosed him with "failure to thrive" at one point early on, before I researched the amount of expected weight gain on the internet and found that he was actually within limits. Finally, what pushed me over the edge, is she diagnosed my son with rickets! This is a totally ridiculous diagnosis. She based it on a blood test that indicated a Vitamin D deficiency. I even specifically asked her whether he had a vitamin deficiency (to correct with supplements) or if he had rickets (a debilitating degeneration of bones) and she said "they are the same thing". Atrocious. She even suggested that I keep him "locked up in the dark house like the Romanian orphans". Yeah right, this was in the summer when the nanny took both kids outside for hours a day. And how could she say something so unprofessional? We never had personal issues with Dr. Umlauf, and all our visits were very cordial, so this is not a personal vendetta, but I just think she is very unprofessional. I have since switched to another doctor down the road on Monroe and have had no problems with the doctors there.

She has been fantastic! My questions are answered consistently. When one of the kids is sick I'm either seen the same day or referred to an after hours clinic who will fax her results of my visits there so that the kid's records are complete.
