    Easy Home Improvement
I paid $150 for $300 masonry services. They visited my house when I wasn't home to scope out the job. When asked about the vent removal, then bricking over the site I was told they don't have tools to remove the vent, so did I want my money back? I was having the room remodeled at the same time by someone else, so I asked my guy. He said it just had four screws and he would do it, which he did ( took 5 mins!). It was going to rain soon, so the masonry man wanted me to cover it ( insulation was inside the hole already), since they couldn't come for another week. They also said they couldn't match the red brick. Finally I got a call that said it was done while I wasn't home. It looked FANTASTIC!! They had actually made a design of one brick, then two under, then three, then two, then one. They did a great job, though I felt they didn't really want to do it from all the calls.

    Michael's Home Repair & Remodeling
Fantastic! Michael and Brent worked for a month, 5 days a week. They moved my stuff, including washer/dryer, to one area as they worked on another. They used my garage to store and cut lumber. They carefully cleaned up as they went and left everything spotless when they were finished. They even tried to leave the litter boxes undisturbed to minimize stress-related 'accidents.' Michael is meticulous, conscientious and no-nonsense. He is a great find! I have given his contact info to friends and family. Now my old house has a bright, updated basement!

    Evangelista Masonry Company
Dave and crew were very prompt and courteous. Made the form and mixed the concrete on site and came back to finish job promptly after the concrete had cured. The crew did a good job finishing the step and cleaning up. This was a small job and it is good to know of a company that is still interested in that type of work. The only down side was that I felt the cost was somewhat high. I see this site indicates a senior discount but I was not offered one.

    Huron Masonry Inc
Mr. Kogan and Huron Masonry were incredible. I've lived in my home for 12 years now. My chimney not only looked decrepit, but was beginning to be downright dangerous from falling debris. I've got bids from some companies to fix it from door salesmen. Each bid I received was nearly 20% higher than what Huron Masonry bid. When I finally buckled down and decided to get it fixed, Mr. Kogan made the process so simple and comfortable for me. He was easy to speak with on the phone, being extremely open and honest about everything. He was at my house within 24 hours to personally see my problem. After we worked together to come up with the idea that I liked best, it may have only been 48 hours before there was a crew at my home working. His crew was extremely nice, and never stopped working. Each person was personable and a standup individual. It seemed that they were done as soon as they got there!! These guys have successfully proven themselves to me. I will assuredly never go with a company other than them for masonry work.

    Brick Bros Restoration
I purchased the big deal for an inspection. Scheduling was easy and the friendly office staff answered questions and was knowledgeable about the services they provide. When they came out both my husband and I were impressed with the professionalism and honesty of the workman. The inspection showed some relatively minor work that needed to be done to prevent a full tear down of our porch later on. My husband the engineer was satisfied with the explanation and felt it was an accurate assessment of what was going on. The quote was e-mailed to me and we were able to scan and e-mail it back after signing it making the whole process smooth and easy. When we had them come out and do the work, again the worker was professional and did excellent work.

    Detroit City Sweep LLC
During the chimney sweep, their vacuum filter broke which left a film of soot throughout the room and into adjoining rooms. We spent several hours cleaning the soot. They did offer to help clean, but we opted to do it ourselves due to the extent of the cleaning needed. (To be fair, in a separate instance with a different company, their filter broke as well. Consumers beware: May be good to ask your chimney sweep if s/he has replaced the filter on their vacuums recently).
The tuck pointing work was poorly done as it was cracked in many places and was not adhering to the brick/existing mortar. (After two days of letting it cure, the new mortar was easily breaking away in chunks). We called the company out to redo the work. After seeing the problems, they agreed the work needed to be redone but were going to charge us an additional $150 to replace one of the broken bricks in the floor that was originally mortared over as part of their first tuck-pointing job.
We chose not to have them come back but instead had another contractor redo the work.

Robert and Tony arrived as scheduled to take a look at what we needed done.  They were polite and knowledgeable.  When we showed him the crack in the threshold, he diagnosed the fact that one side of the porch was setting more quickly than the other.  He had me move the drainspout away from the porch foundation.
They ordered the threshold and after a weather related delay, arrived promptly and finished the job quickly and efficiently.  They left no mess.
I would recommend Brick Brothers highly.  We are going to call them out again to tuck point our chimney.

    NorthWest Construction LLC
This was another excellent job performed by Terry and crew on an older brick home.  They ground out the failing mortar joints in all of the agreed upon areas and even found a few higher up that I did not see at ground level.  The crew took the time to dye the new mortar to match my old mortar, this was much appreciated.
Terry is a small business owner who actually quotes the jobs himself, brings out the right experts in the field for areas he does not do himself and oversees the job to the end ensuring all the small details are taken care of.  He never takes the final check until I am satisfied, this is something I highly value, thank you Terry!
I look forward to doing business with him again!

    Arbor Brickworks LLC
The provider was wanting to rip out everything and redo that as well as the tuckpointing that I was needing for a total of $3000. I felt that this was way too expensive. My regular cement guy informed me that there is nothing wrong with the cinder blocks, they just need to be ground down a bit and refilled with cement. He is going to do the whole thing for $600. I have contacted Angie's List in order to get a refund of the Big Deal purchase.

Dave was a bit hard to contact at first but once we spoke, he came to the house promptly - within a few days - and did the work with very high quality and quickly. He's personable and easy to work with. I hope to use him in the future on another job I need done.
