    Clear Focus Window Cleaning
Very disappointing. I telephoned this company and spoke to the owner. I wanted to hire him to clean gutters at my home in Dearborn. His response was that he did not "service Wayne County" and if I "went to [his] website" I would have known. Well, on his website there is nothing to indicate he doesn't service Wayne County. In fact, in addition to a number of cities listed that his company services, he puts in a catch-all provision saying "and surrounding areas of Michigan". When you say "surrounding areas of Michigan", unless there is some different meaning to those words than ordinary dictionary meaning, that implies you service cities in Wayne County, Washtenaw County, St. Clair County, Monroe County, and so on. Those are geographically "surrounding areas". So short of being a medium, I wasn't able to divine some other celestial meaning to the phrase "and surrounding areas of Michigan". However, the owners inflection in his voice that I should have checked his website and would have known better was a bit condescending. Not sure why that speculator basement level customer service gets him an A+ on this website, but it gets an F from me.

    Prestissimo Window Cleaning Company
Carl contacted me almost immediately and our gutters we cleaned that week and bags neatly left on our patio. I was not home at the time of cleaning but could see they did an excellent job. They even came back to sweep the leaves off our peaked roof. I would use them again in a heartbeat. Thank you!! Sorry this review too so long Carl. I just logged on to Angie's List today and realized I had not done so yet.

    Norris Gutters
Mr Norris was prompt with calling me back and for showing up at exactly the promised time for the estimate. He was able to fit us in the same day, as he had another job nearby. He was on time for the cleaning, and he and his assistant did an excellent job. They cleaned all debris from our gutters and even made a few repairs (tightening or adding screws as they went). They tested each downspout to ensure free flow draining. For this, they used our hoses, but they put everything back exactly as they found it. They worked hard, but efficiently, for one hour careful not to harm any of our landscaping elements. They were done in one hour. All in all, they did an excellent job and were very professional. I would call them again!

    Mike's Cleaning - Painting & Handyman Service
This is our 3rd time hiring Mike's Cleaning - Painting & Handyman Service to clean awnings and exterior trim on our home.  He and his crew are very professional and courteous.  They move all furniture, planters, etc. and replace them when finished.  I have recommended them to friends who have also been very happy with their service.

    Dr Sweep
I bought the deal on November 25, 2013, just before winter hit hard in SE Michigan and the company wasn't able to clean the gutters. I called the following year and was told that they were focusing all of their efforts on their chimney sweep business and they would not schedule me for a gutter cleaning. I told them that due to the above circumstances, my voucher would be expired by the time they could clean my gutters. They assured me that they would honor the full value of the voucher with no expiration date. They even made this change on Angie's list to show no expiration date (although the voucher still shows an expiration date).
This year, I called again to schedule the appointment. Their computer was down and they requested I call another day. I did so twice before the system was up. At that time, they were able to see what they had charged me previously. They asked me the size of my house and based on my answer, they told me the cost would be $150. My voucher cost $152 (for a $190 value), but I agreed. We agreed that I had paid in full, upfront, and did not need to be at home for the service.
On the appointed day, the man who came to do the work left without doing it and left a note stating the size of my house as the reason. Back to square one, I spoke with the company again and they said that they would need to charge me an additional $150. I agreed. The day prior to the service date, the company called me with a quote of $302. They wanted $150 on top of the $152 I'd paid for the voucher. I pointed out that the voucher VALUE was $190, and that I expected to pay the difference between $302 and $190, or a net of $112.
At this point, they told me that I did not understand how Angie's List Big Deals worked and that I was the only customer they had ever encountered who actually wanted the value of the voucher applied to the bill. They would only credit me with $152. At this point, I asked what the point of a Big Deal was if I ended up with no discount. Needless to say, they insisted I was wrong and told me to ask Angie's List for my money back.
I have spent over $4000 with this company in the past (gutter cleaning, chimney sweeping, and major work on my flue) for which they did a great job. They just lost a very good customer.

AG Maintenance Inc., AG Property Services
Nutshell: Go with another company. This company is terrible to work with and will charge you for things they didn't do and you didn't authorize.  IIf for some reason you do use them, get everything in writing and signed by them.
The long story:  This company is terrible and I'm still dealing with the nightmare today as they just called me last night to say that they now have a bookkeeper and I somehow owe them $3,700 which is unbelievable and infuriating.  The entire process with AG was terrible - the only time it went well was in the "sales phase" where they came over to my home and then I stupidly got a line of credit through them (first time homeowner, I will never do that again).   I had lived in my home for less than a year when it was devastated by the big flood in Metro Detroit in 2014 (it was declared a natural disaster by the President) and I was under so much stress as a single, first time home owner and this experience has made me never want to hire a contractor again.
They rarely responded to my requests for information, and had random contractors showing up whenever (I had female roommates so that was awkward), and when the contractors did show up, they would ask my roommates what they should be doing (why am I paying a general contractor if this is the case?).   I felt taken advantage of because I am a younger, single female and I don't say that flippantly.
Some of the quality of work was very good - I will be fair and give them that, but other parts were shoddy and they never cared to fix it; the light switch holes they cut out in the bath is not situated where you can us a regular plate cover, so we have to cut one and it looks terrible; the outlet holes in the bead board in the living room and bedroom are rough cut and have gaps; they started my linen closet totally wrong when I had already made a concession to have it done a simpler way just to try and get it done (I originally wanted the wall to be angled with a cut out under the stairwell), but of course the price didn't change even though the new design was clearly way easier.  They also painted my ceilings and they missed spots and had drips everywhere.  Additionally, they insulated my basement bath after I told them more than once not to, and they charged me for it.
Also, they never called to talk to me about tile, fixtures, etc. - I ended up having to pick it all out , purchase, and install myself.  The ONE thing they went and purchased (after my asking three times) was the medicine cabinet and it was WAY too big and off centered, but that was at the end of the job and I just took it down and put another one up myself because I was so tired of dealing with them. They initially charged a credit line of $8,000 and promised an itemized estimate  - weeks went by and they did not respond, so I finally had to send an email asking them to cease work until I had an itemized estimate and called the credit company that they use and blocked them from any further charges (magically this is when the estimate appeared). After I received the estimate, I sent emails asking for adjustments to it which were promised and never done.  I never signed off on the estimate because I never got a correct one. Now they are saying I owe them $11,700 total, which is $3,700 over what I've paid them, because that must be the number they have in their "system" that matches their original estimate and includes things like CARPETING TWO ROOMS and painting  that I never got done by them!!  Also, it's been eight  months and now they're calling me and asking me for more money?! This company is a nightmare that never ends.

    Devine Shine
He finally did the job right but the first day, he went to the wrong house. I came back and it was still dirty but he eventually came back and did the job. He did a very good job when he came back. It was good. He's very responsive and very reasonable. He did a good job overall. He's very professional.

    Prestissimo Window Cleaning Company
The workmen were prompt and professional. They came at the scheduled day/time despite a heavily overcast sky, and continued working through some light rain and distant thunder (they were, in my opinion, well within their rights to reschedule). As they worked, we noticed them carefully cleaning up after themselves, both on our property and on our neighbor's. They didn't check in when they arrived, but within a couple of hours, they rang the bell to let us know they were done.
My only minor complaint is that over the next day or so, I found a few pieces of what looked like old screening they had pulled out of the gutters. This debris was in a few places around the side and back of the house. Not a big deal, just something they probably missed in their final sweep.
Overall, I thought the company did good work at a very fair price. We will definitely use them again.

    Great Lakes Gutter Co Inc
They sent an estimator at my
request, on time. Mike and I did a walk around my house, I pointed out the problem
areas and he suggested fixes that would solve the problems, we agreed and gave
me the proposal. The installers were there on time and Rich and I went over all
the details of the proposal and listened to all my questions, we agreed. Rich
and the team began removing the gutters and downspouts, creating the new gutters
and installing. Cleaned the yard removed all old material. Rich and the team
were courteous and completer the job to my satisfaction in record time.
    Great Job!!!
    I gladly gave other neighbors
the name and number of Great Lakes Gutter.

.Our roof had been leaking badly throughout the winter and Mr. Steele at Agoo Chimney Sweeps was a real lifesaver. He was prompt, courteous and very friendly. Best of all, no more leaks after his visit. We would strongly recommend this company to friends, family and neighbors!
