AChuck's Construction Co.We contacted Chuck to remove a brick patio that had problems and replace it with a Trex deck plus benches. The cost of the deck included removing a large stump in the way of expanding the deck and also we had two large yew bushes removed. The size of the deck is 485 square feet and used Trex Transcend decking. They added two sets of stairs off the deck to the backyard. The entire process went smoothly from the initial scheduling to meet till it’s completion. Good communication either through phone calls, text or emails. We were given several options on materials available and prices for several sizes of deck. Chuck also suggested items such as railings which were a wonderful addition to our ideas. The crew were friendly and efficient. All construction work was cleaned up. Our deck was finished in less than a week. We were very happy with the results. ASuperior Home Building LLCJerrod Thomason, the owner of Superior Home Building, did a complete remodel of our house including a new addition. He did the work while we spent the winter in FL. I contacted him based on the outstanding reviews on Angie's list. We did not meet him until the job was well under way. Everything was done by phone, email, and FaceTime. We couldn't have been more pleased with the result. I would recommend Jerod for any job. He was outstanding!! Our job included: new roof, new siding, new gutters & down spouts, replace all windows, new flooring, new lighting and electrical, new plumbing, seal walls and waterproof basement, paint every room and ceiling in the house. Also a complete remodel of the kitchen, bathroom, utility room, closets, and an addition which included a large new bathroom, walk-in closet and storage area. Use Superior Home Building you won't regret it!!- john b.

DJohnston ConstructionWork was fine until we decided to add on French doors to replace existing sliding. I showed him the doors I wanted (via Lowe's website) and he said he would order & install them. The weather turned cold and he agreed to finish in spring. This was the final part of the project. CV-19 hit and once construction re-opened, he came to see the site, said it would take one day for installation of the doors... and then never returned any calls, emails, etc. I held back $500 from the total bill to ensure completion. He has the rest of the payment for the porch in full PLUS the never installed French doors ($1200). NOT TO BE TRUSTED.- R N.

FMcKelvey's Home Improvement'sI wish I would have paid more attention to the other post. The final deck is much bigger than I wanted, but it looks nice. The repair to the retaining wall is non existent...they nailed 4x4 up against the wall, took the extra material with them after charging me more for it. I have called twice and as the other party said, refuses to call back. Would never recommend them. They left the old deck material, with nails and screws still in the wood in a pile on another deck. After giving me quote, they did not build new stairs and did not make an adjustment for them and charged me extra for the price of wood.- D B.

As soon as the weather allowed they were back out to complete all of the work. I had my deck stained and my porch painted. Both came out fantastically, and I couldn't be happier with the work. ANorthwest Tile & InteriorsMy original home is over 100 years old and we have done 3 major additions to it over the 40+ years we have lived here. We wanted the structural work done for the good of the house and outbuildings. We wanted the siding to both make the house look like one completed building and also to make it weather tight. Ed was super to work with. He listened closely the several times we met before i received the detailed bid. He was great in the creative and planning process. He came up with several ways to achieve what i wanted. He explained how he would install the windows to both be very attractive and weather tight. He was patient with decisions. He was willing to hold various types of siding in place so i could get a real idea of how the different options would work. His eye for detail is amazing and his desire for perfection is evident. The woodwork Ed did on the inside framing of the windows is beautiful. He has worked harder than any previous builder to be sure i was happy with the end result. On a day to day basis, Ed and his workers were professional and easy to "live with". They were always sensitive to avoiding more upheaval than necessary for such a long project. They cleaned up every night and left the place as neat as possible. They always informed me of their arrivals for the next day and of any delays. I would definitely recommend Northwest Tile and Interiors for any of this type of work.- judy l.

AKent Home ServicesIt went excellent! They dug under the slab beneath each post and installed brackets on each post and helical piers deep into the ground (12 feet in our case but they can go up to 25 feet) and added cement under the slab. They even lifted the slab where it had sunk back to its original position. The piers are also adjustable and they showed us how, by cranking large bolts attached to the brackets which sit on top of the piers. The porch will never move again (and it is guaranteed), so we can fill in the cracks and they will not happen again. When they were done they put back the dirt they had dug out and cleaned up the area well. We had gotten inspections and estimates from several other foundation repair companies and none of them had the knowledge and experience that this company has. They are the manufacturer of the helical pier systems and they also provide installation services as well. We are so pleased with the job they did and had such an excellent working experience with everyone we dealt with, from the sales person to the office staff to the foreman and service workers.- Diane K.

AChimney & Fireplace GuysJohn Dennis(owner) came to our house a couple of times to meet with us and ensure his design met our needs and wants. He created an estimate at no cost and scheduled our job. The team from Chimney & Fireplace Guys were very professional and polite. One technition even helped me with yard work I was doing on his lunch! This was an outside border for our patio, so It was a "small" job but Brian and Eric treated it with exceptional care. Brian even returned to double check and got rid of a bees nest for us!
