    Woodbrook Painting & Powerwashing LLC
The entire team at Woodbrook are true professionals. We found them a few years ago when we needed our deck refinished. That work alone would have been enough for a great review, our deck looks brand new after every service, I think they've done it three times now. After some recent interior remodeling and other upgrades we needed some interior paint work done so with the satisfaction we had with their deck service, I gave them a call. Ryan was quick to respond (as always) and after coming out to take a look at the job, promptly sent over a quote and we were put into their schedule. Communication was excellent throughout the process and the work was scheduled. We were contacted in advance to confirm when the team would arrive and they were here on time and ready to go on the agreed upon Monday start date. Upon arrival, Ryan walked through the project with me and his team again just to confirm the scope, then walked the team through it once more just to make sure all were on the same page. As the project kicked off I realized there was some additional work I'd like to get done and asked for an additional quote. That quote was returned the same afternoon and the additional work was added into the overall project, no problems, no need for reschedule, they just took care of business. The team arrived on time each day and went to work. Drop cloths were used everywhere and all furniture and counters were covered with plastic sheeting. So, 3 days later, 15 double-hung window sashes, a door wall and complete repaint on a remodeled half bath, the team finished up. Anything they took down was reinstalled, all the floors were cleaned up and all remaining paint marked and left for future touch up. A true five-star job! I just can't say enough good about this entire experience! If you need paint or stain work done, you needn't look any further than the team at Woodbrook!

    Somerset Painting & Professional Improvements
I doubt if this outfit even owns a paint brush. They sub -contracted everything at my house. Their communication with their subs is horrible. I don't think that Somerset even set out a company representative to inspect the work. While I dealt very little with the subs, my wife said one of them was very rude.. They never did complete the wood restoration nor did they replace the light fixtures they removed for painting. Don't let them fool you about payment. They started sending invoices long before the work was complete. In fact it is still not complete since the light fixtures and wood repair are unfinished. But I got tired of them bugging me for payment and their poor coomunication.. Part of the job cost was materials. They ordered a lot excess materials for which I had to pay. I have used many contractors in the past and I would advise you look elsewhere since these guys are no better than anyone else out there but are more costly. I am sorry I relied on Angies List for this selection of a contractor.

    Rhino Shield of MI
Our house looks amazing. We first had our home painted by Rhino Shield of Michigan in 2010. It looks as good today as it did when they completed the job. We had our addition painted this fall and couldn't be more pleased with the results. A very professional company and great attention to detail.

Day of appointment, and salesman is 20 minutes early. Pounds on door when we have a doorbell...Not to mention I have an 18 month old son and he scares the crap out of him. I tell him to wait 15 minutes as I need someone to watch my son. Was met with a look of who do you think you are...Right you walk on water and I am merely a peasant. Check. Great start. Next walking around, no tape measure no note pad. Seems weird. Next up I ask for references which I know is a sham anyways because they are never going to point me in the direction of unhappy customers and I get a you'll have to go to Florida to see this product on buildings that were done 10+ years ago. Followed by thats up to the office to give out locally. Then get told we have a $5000 minimum and this project does not meet the minimum. Also makes sure I know he is a veteran. Great. Always up for supporting a veteran and helping them out. Then I look and he is driving a Suzuki SUV....Hmmmmm wants to make sure I know he is a veteran but he doesn't even support American workers by driving an American car. That rubs me the wrong way. The sales rep made sure to tell me that he has interest in his grand children's parents going missing....As in being thrown out of a boat or there being a hunting mistake... I feel like he is threatening me...OK time to end this and move on to another company. Would never call for a quote again or have any desire to do business with again.

    Dinse Contracting LLC
My journey with Dinse Contracting, LLC over the last several months Bega with Angies List. In 2016, I purchased an 1800 square foot, 1977 frame ranch-style house which I wanted to remodel. To find a contractor, I went to Angies List, and after reading 50+ positive reviews of his company, I decided to contact Brian, and so it began. As the owner of his company, Brian sets a tone of high expectations and teamwork among his crew members. All of them take a great deal of pride io their work. They help each other and step I whenever something needs to be done. Each one ( Seth 1, Zack, Mark, Josh, David and sometimes Robert, Todd ad Seth 2) is professional, punctual, polite, willing to answer questions and explain his work. Brian has several positive qualities of leadership. One is his awareness of the negative reputation that many people in the building trades have concerning communication with their clients. He fights that stereotype by being excellent at asking questions, keeping me informed about options and offering his opinions, both pro and con. A second is his protectiveness of his clients. Mediocre work or shoddy products are unacceptable to him. He makes it right if that is within his power. A third quality is creativity. Using bullnose tile to surround a bathroom window, making difficult chamfer (sp?) cuts in marble to add safety and visual interest, and designing a subtle and elegant pattern on the hearth using the sunroom tile are a few examples of creative thinking. The master bath is a fairly small and unusually-shaped space which Brian agonized over, working to find an aesthetically pleasing and functional design. These among other qualities show that Brian takes his work very seriously. Essentially, Dinse Contracting, LLC rebuilt almost the entire interior of my house. To do that, they employed all of the categories of work listed below. 1. Mark, Josh and sometimes Todd painted the entire interior plus exterior doors and the exterior of the bathroom window. Their work was flawless. 2. Brian and Seth 1 installed Windsor One baseboard throughout the house, ad Seth 1 created a lovely arrangement of shelves in an open space above a stairwell. 3. They added 1/4 drywall over dated paneling in a large portion of the house, and 1/4 drywall on ceilings throughout the house (goodbye, popcorn ceilings.) 4. Exterior painting already mentioned. 5. All of the items on this list are part of the remodeling. 6. Framing was a significant part of the work in both bathrooms, making them more modern and more efficient, installing a tub, toilets, plumbing fixtures. 7. The improved the electrical service, including several GFIs, bringing it up to code, and installing high tech, energy-saving switches for lights and fans. 8. These handymen helped out, whether finding the right hardwood floor clear or moving heavy items or fixing my broken tail light. 9. After I chose the lighting fixtures, Brian, David and Zack installed them all. A dining room chandelier was problematic because it needed above the ceiling support in a difficult place. They solved the problem. 10. Mentioned already. 11. Measuring for and installing vanities, mirrors, sconces, cabinets, indirect lighting. 12. Mentioned already. 13. After first installing a subfloor, Zack ad Brian began installing the first batch of oak flooring that I bought. They were alarmed at the poor quality of the product. They showed me, explained the problems it posed, I asked questions, and, in the end, they boxed it up and returned it to the store. Brian immediately investigated flooring stores and knowledgeable friends, and found an excellent flooring source. 14. Yes, they removed wallpaper from some high walls. 15. They installed closet doors, room doors, and exterior doors. All fit well. 16. A large sunroom and two bathrooms have tile floorsporcelain, ceramic and marble, respectively. To accommodate so much tile cutting, Seth 12 built a room within a room of plastic sheeting and 2x4s to house the tile saw, saving both time and money. He precisely cut, placed and grouted the tile. I believe that this is very difficult work which he did admirably. (The master bath came to be known at the Taj Mahal.) 17. They got rid of some nasty insulation above the bathrooms. 18. They installed all new plumbing fixtures in the baths and kitchen. 19. A subcontractor of Brians added duct workone cold air and one heat register. 20. Mentioned already. 21. Included in #11. Also, Brian changed the glass in the bathroom window from clear to obscure. 22. Air duct cleaning was done early in the process and at the end of the process. (Brian hates dust!) 23. The last major project in this house was the built-i cabinets on one large wall of a large room. It is custom finish cabinetry at its finest. I was looking forward to nice book shelves; these cabinets are works of art thanks to Zack and Brian, with Mark, Josh and Todd painting. Two smaller bits of beautiful finish cabinet work are a custom oak handrail with a sweep, and a custom oak library ladder.

The pricing was very competitive with other estimates. Every step of the way, Don was very communicative. The team attended to the detail of doing excellent prep work. They were prompt, worked solid days as the weather permitted. Clean up was great.

    Drews Painting LLC
Drew's Painting painted and calked our home in 2005. He did an outstanding job which is why 11 years later we used him again. Again the job he did is outstanding. He is prompt, careful, very professional and friendly. You can be confident you are dealing with and honest and trustworthy individual. We are going to need some interior painting in the future and won't hesitate to use him.

    A Plus Painting LLC
Badly... I was living overseas at the time and was not able to closely oversea the work.  I was coming home once a month to visit my family.  I was not overly worried about overseeing the work because they offered a 2 year warranty.
The work took a while to get done and I had to have the painters come back 3 or 4 times to fix issues and clean paint they got on my new wood floors.
Over that first winter all the paint in the crown moulding started cracking.  I also started to notice that when they moved my return air vents down to install the crown moulding that they just moved the vents without moving the duct work leaving only an inch or two exposed to the vent.  Really shoddy work.  its very difficult to see because we have high ceilings so I only noticed after about a year.
Ok I thought, well within the warranty period so I called A plus painting.
I have spent the last year and a half trying to get them to come out and fix their work.  They have came out to my house and I have exchanged countless emails with them in an attempt to get them to come fix the issues.  I am only now writing this review because they recently sent me an email telling me that neither of these issues are under warranty which is comical.  Cracked crown moulding when none of my pre-existing moulding was cracked.  Return air vents moved without moving the ventilation.  What a joke.
This is the worst experience I have ever had with any company doing work at my house.

    CertaPro Painters of Novi
They did a very good job. I was very pleased with them. I would recommend them to anyone. They were here for about 4 or 5 days doing the work. They did an excellent job. They worked in a professional way. They were not goofing off. They came and did their job and they left. They cleaned up after themselves. It was about average.
