Door Installation reviews in Brighton

Window Plus - Home Pro USA
We have used WindowsPlus for many years. All of our existing windows were purchased and installed by them . Their sales rep, Todd V was very helpful and his information helped us greatly with our selections. We have just contracted with the company to replace our access door to our deck and a new storm door for our front entry door. The workmanship of their installer(s) has always been great - promptness , courteous, and a great clean up are the trademarks of this company.

    Dinse Contracting LLC
My journey with Dinse Contracting, LLC over the last several months Bega with Angies List. In 2016, I purchased an 1800 square foot, 1977 frame ranch-style house which I wanted to remodel. To find a contractor, I went to Angies List, and after reading 50+ positive reviews of his company, I decided to contact Brian, and so it began. As the owner of his company, Brian sets a tone of high expectations and teamwork among his crew members. All of them take a great deal of pride io their work. They help each other and step I whenever something needs to be done. Each one ( Seth 1, Zack, Mark, Josh, David and sometimes Robert, Todd ad Seth 2) is professional, punctual, polite, willing to answer questions and explain his work. Brian has several positive qualities of leadership. One is his awareness of the negative reputation that many people in the building trades have concerning communication with their clients. He fights that stereotype by being excellent at asking questions, keeping me informed about options and offering his opinions, both pro and con. A second is his protectiveness of his clients. Mediocre work or shoddy products are unacceptable to him. He makes it right if that is within his power. A third quality is creativity. Using bullnose tile to surround a bathroom window, making difficult chamfer (sp?) cuts in marble to add safety and visual interest, and designing a subtle and elegant pattern on the hearth using the sunroom tile are a few examples of creative thinking. The master bath is a fairly small and unusually-shaped space which Brian agonized over, working to find an aesthetically pleasing and functional design. These among other qualities show that Brian takes his work very seriously. Essentially, Dinse Contracting, LLC rebuilt almost the entire interior of my house. To do that, they employed all of the categories of work listed below. 1. Mark, Josh and sometimes Todd painted the entire interior plus exterior doors and the exterior of the bathroom window. Their work was flawless. 2. Brian and Seth 1 installed Windsor One baseboard throughout the house, ad Seth 1 created a lovely arrangement of shelves in an open space above a stairwell. 3. They added 1/4 drywall over dated paneling in a large portion of the house, and 1/4 drywall on ceilings throughout the house (goodbye, popcorn ceilings.) 4. Exterior painting already mentioned. 5. All of the items on this list are part of the remodeling. 6. Framing was a significant part of the work in both bathrooms, making them more modern and more efficient, installing a tub, toilets, plumbing fixtures. 7. The improved the electrical service, including several GFIs, bringing it up to code, and installing high tech, energy-saving switches for lights and fans. 8. These handymen helped out, whether finding the right hardwood floor clear or moving heavy items or fixing my broken tail light. 9. After I chose the lighting fixtures, Brian, David and Zack installed them all. A dining room chandelier was problematic because it needed above the ceiling support in a difficult place. They solved the problem. 10. Mentioned already. 11. Measuring for and installing vanities, mirrors, sconces, cabinets, indirect lighting. 12. Mentioned already. 13. After first installing a subfloor, Zack ad Brian began installing the first batch of oak flooring that I bought. They were alarmed at the poor quality of the product. They showed me, explained the problems it posed, I asked questions, and, in the end, they boxed it up and returned it to the store. Brian immediately investigated flooring stores and knowledgeable friends, and found an excellent flooring source. 14. Yes, they removed wallpaper from some high walls. 15. They installed closet doors, room doors, and exterior doors. All fit well. 16. A large sunroom and two bathrooms have tile floorsporcelain, ceramic and marble, respectively. To accommodate so much tile cutting, Seth 12 built a room within a room of plastic sheeting and 2x4s to house the tile saw, saving both time and money. He precisely cut, placed and grouted the tile. I believe that this is very difficult work which he did admirably. (The master bath came to be known at the Taj Mahal.) 17. They got rid of some nasty insulation above the bathrooms. 18. They installed all new plumbing fixtures in the baths and kitchen. 19. A subcontractor of Brians added duct workone cold air and one heat register. 20. Mentioned already. 21. Included in #11. Also, Brian changed the glass in the bathroom window from clear to obscure. 22. Air duct cleaning was done early in the process and at the end of the process. (Brian hates dust!) 23. The last major project in this house was the built-i cabinets on one large wall of a large room. It is custom finish cabinetry at its finest. I was looking forward to nice book shelves; these cabinets are works of art thanks to Zack and Brian, with Mark, Josh and Todd painting. Two smaller bits of beautiful finish cabinet work are a custom oak handrail with a sweep, and a custom oak library ladder.

    Kotch's Windows-N-More
Our experience with Kotch's was fabulous, start to finish. We have a very large home and replaced every window as well as the siding and gutters. We are extremely happy with everything, from the quality of the products to the installation and final look. Mike was exceptional to work with. He is very knowledgable about all options, took his time to explain everything, to make sure we were confident with our choices, and frequently checked in to make sure things were going well with the teams doing the job. He easily accommodated to a few scheduling needs on our end as well as a big request that made a large portion of work easier on us. The window guys were the best! It's not easy having strangers in your home all day for a week, but these gentlemen were as friendly and as unobtrusive as they could be, and completely cleaned up every trace of work each evening before leaving. The new windows are fabulous, and Mike's suggestions to the exterior trim were perfect; the exterior work looks wonderful as well. We have no complaints, it was a job very, very well done. Thank you so much Mike!

    Renewal By Andersen
Our home was built in 1992. We are not the original owners.   The existing door walls were a good name brand, and had blinds between the inner and outer panes of glass. On the main floor the mechanism to adjust the blinds was worn out.  But no other problem.  The inner pane comes out so the  blinds can be removed. In my opinion a double vacuume sealed pane is more insulated. On the upper floor there was a real problem. The threshold of the door would badly frost in Winter and the door was drafty around one side of the gliding door. Caulking around the door didn't help with the frosting.   The carpet area in front of the door would get damp from the freezing and thawing.  The dampness caused mold on the carpet!

We had discussed replacing at least the door wall on the upper floor.  One late afternoon Darren Guthrie and another gentleman from Anderson knocked on our door while canvassing the neighborhood.  After confirming they were employees of Renewal By Anderson we made an appointment to find out about replacing one or more door walls.  The appointment resulted in us replacing two door walls. Darren and his co-worker were very professional and were in no way pushy or trying to sell us anything we didn't need.  A big selling point is they use installers that work exclusively for Anderson.  Anderson takes responsibility for the product and the installation.   Anderson Windows and Doors are not cheap, but there is none better.  It's our home, we want the best.

We couldn't be happier.  What a difference.  The doors fit in the same opening, but we have more glass.  It's a larger view.  It's changed both rooms with more light.    Window and doors have improved in the last 25 years. The Anderson installer Lanbree Construction was fantastic.  Jim Yax, owner, and two other members of the crew, Howie and Chuck, were confidence inspiring.  When tearing out the old doors, that's really important.  They were obviously experienced, very competent, and friendly. We give Lanbree Construction and Jim Yax an A+.

We definitely recommend Renewal By Anderson.

    Kotch's Windows-N-More

I contacted Kotch's windows several months ago along with 3 other local window replacement firms.  Mike was by far the most professional, and took the time to explain the difference in the R values and insulated values.  I decided to go with the Sunshine brand.  Due to the special shape window, they had to be ordered.

Once the window came in, Mike had his install group replace the window.  They were on time, very professional and polite.  They ran into an unexpected problem with deteriorated wood trim and they spent extra time to redo the flashing for the proper way to install the window.

I was very pleased with the outcome, and would recommend Kotch's to other prospective homeowners that need replacement windows.

    Kotch's Windows-N-More

We contacted four vendors (two of whom we had used before).  Our install was a bit tricky, and some companies would not even quote the job.  Mike was the most responsive, and gave us the most options.  I researched third party reviews on the product lines he proposed.  All seemed to have good reviews.  This is really hard to find in either windows or sliding doors!  During the sales process he was informative and presented several options, but absolutely no high pressure.  So easy and pleasant to work with. The installer was very professional and really knew what he was doing.

We are very pleased with both the quality of the door and the installation.  We would not hesitate to use Mike again

    Renewal By Andersen Co.
I have a leaking Anderson Window that was built with the house. I called Renewal By Anderson and they gave me the name of one of their contractors. He never called me back.  If their replacement windows and doors are anything like their original windows and doors, I don't think I want them. I've already had to replace an Anderson door wall that was built with the house. Luckily, it was under warranty and they would replace it.

    Just windows and doors
They are just really competent. They knew what they were doing, they came out, they took care of the problem, the estimate was accurate, and they were in and out really quickly. I just think that they are very professional. The only downside is that they are very busy so you have to get in line. They are very good.

    Pro Bros Window & Sunroom
Excellant Job.. Guys went above and beyond to properly install doorwall.  We had some rot in the subfloor under the old door wall, they took the time to cut all of that out and replace with new wood.  Weather sealed everything, cleaned up after themselves.  Love the new door.  Energy bills show an improvement as well.

In the colder months we had to manually raise and lower our garage door, and that was painful when I left the house in the early hours of the morning.  We called Door Tech and found that the technician-owner was punctual, nice and effective.  He replaced and tested the sensors on the garage door and oiled the door as well, all in a sub-freezing afternoon.  I have provided his card to several neighbors, and I will use him again, if the situation arises!
