    EF Deering Co
This was a challenging job that required deep knowledge and experience in roof framing and structural repairs. Ed and his team did an excellent job and came up with creative solutions to some very tricky problems. His guys showed up on time every day, worked hard, and got the job done on time.

    Dinse Contracting LLC
My journey with Dinse Contracting, LLC over the last several months Bega with Angies List. In 2016, I purchased an 1800 square foot, 1977 frame ranch-style house which I wanted to remodel. To find a contractor, I went to Angies List, and after reading 50+ positive reviews of his company, I decided to contact Brian, and so it began. As the owner of his company, Brian sets a tone of high expectations and teamwork among his crew members. All of them take a great deal of pride io their work. They help each other and step I whenever something needs to be done. Each one ( Seth 1, Zack, Mark, Josh, David and sometimes Robert, Todd ad Seth 2) is professional, punctual, polite, willing to answer questions and explain his work. Brian has several positive qualities of leadership. One is his awareness of the negative reputation that many people in the building trades have concerning communication with their clients. He fights that stereotype by being excellent at asking questions, keeping me informed about options and offering his opinions, both pro and con. A second is his protectiveness of his clients. Mediocre work or shoddy products are unacceptable to him. He makes it right if that is within his power. A third quality is creativity. Using bullnose tile to surround a bathroom window, making difficult chamfer (sp?) cuts in marble to add safety and visual interest, and designing a subtle and elegant pattern on the hearth using the sunroom tile are a few examples of creative thinking. The master bath is a fairly small and unusually-shaped space which Brian agonized over, working to find an aesthetically pleasing and functional design. These among other qualities show that Brian takes his work very seriously. Essentially, Dinse Contracting, LLC rebuilt almost the entire interior of my house. To do that, they employed all of the categories of work listed below. 1. Mark, Josh and sometimes Todd painted the entire interior plus exterior doors and the exterior of the bathroom window. Their work was flawless. 2. Brian and Seth 1 installed Windsor One baseboard throughout the house, ad Seth 1 created a lovely arrangement of shelves in an open space above a stairwell. 3. They added 1/4 drywall over dated paneling in a large portion of the house, and 1/4 drywall on ceilings throughout the house (goodbye, popcorn ceilings.) 4. Exterior painting already mentioned. 5. All of the items on this list are part of the remodeling. 6. Framing was a significant part of the work in both bathrooms, making them more modern and more efficient, installing a tub, toilets, plumbing fixtures. 7. The improved the electrical service, including several GFIs, bringing it up to code, and installing high tech, energy-saving switches for lights and fans. 8. These handymen helped out, whether finding the right hardwood floor clear or moving heavy items or fixing my broken tail light. 9. After I chose the lighting fixtures, Brian, David and Zack installed them all. A dining room chandelier was problematic because it needed above the ceiling support in a difficult place. They solved the problem. 10. Mentioned already. 11. Measuring for and installing vanities, mirrors, sconces, cabinets, indirect lighting. 12. Mentioned already. 13. After first installing a subfloor, Zack ad Brian began installing the first batch of oak flooring that I bought. They were alarmed at the poor quality of the product. They showed me, explained the problems it posed, I asked questions, and, in the end, they boxed it up and returned it to the store. Brian immediately investigated flooring stores and knowledgeable friends, and found an excellent flooring source. 14. Yes, they removed wallpaper from some high walls. 15. They installed closet doors, room doors, and exterior doors. All fit well. 16. A large sunroom and two bathrooms have tile floorsporcelain, ceramic and marble, respectively. To accommodate so much tile cutting, Seth 12 built a room within a room of plastic sheeting and 2x4s to house the tile saw, saving both time and money. He precisely cut, placed and grouted the tile. I believe that this is very difficult work which he did admirably. (The master bath came to be known at the Taj Mahal.) 17. They got rid of some nasty insulation above the bathrooms. 18. They installed all new plumbing fixtures in the baths and kitchen. 19. A subcontractor of Brians added duct workone cold air and one heat register. 20. Mentioned already. 21. Included in #11. Also, Brian changed the glass in the bathroom window from clear to obscure. 22. Air duct cleaning was done early in the process and at the end of the process. (Brian hates dust!) 23. The last major project in this house was the built-i cabinets on one large wall of a large room. It is custom finish cabinetry at its finest. I was looking forward to nice book shelves; these cabinets are works of art thanks to Zack and Brian, with Mark, Josh and Todd painting. Two smaller bits of beautiful finish cabinet work are a custom oak handrail with a sweep, and a custom oak library ladder.

    Kotch's Windows-N-More

I contacted Kotch's windows several months ago along with 3 other local window replacement firms.  Mike was by far the most professional, and took the time to explain the difference in the R values and insulated values.  I decided to go with the Sunshine brand.  Due to the special shape window, they had to be ordered.

Once the window came in, Mike had his install group replace the window.  They were on time, very professional and polite.  They ran into an unexpected problem with deteriorated wood trim and they spent extra time to redo the flashing for the proper way to install the window.

I was very pleased with the outcome, and would recommend Kotch's to other prospective homeowners that need replacement windows.

    ECI Services
I needed to get grab bars installed in my 89 year old relatives shower.  I could not do it myself as the shower liner was curved and I was afraid I couldn't make it safe.  Home Depot put me in contact with ECI Services.  They were extremely responsive (the other contractor Home Depot suggested still has not called me) and contacted me within 8 hours of my request.  They gave me a price and set up the appointment with the carpenter, Bob.  He arrived right on time, did an excellent job of installing the grab bars and cleaned up the work area after he was done.  He even wore shoe protectors!  I am so thankful that I don't have to worry so much about my relative falling in the shower since Bob did the work.  I would definitely recommend them and would use them again.

    DBD Construction Services

Derek was very responsive with all call backs and proceeded with job as scheduled.  He had a crew of 2 helping him that did excellent work.  They all checked with us as they were doing the job to make sure it was proceeding to our satisfaction.

It was a pleasure to work with Derek and his crew.  I sincerely appreciate that everything they said, they did.  There were no surprises and the work turned out great.

    RAM Residential Specialists Inc
Awful.  This company doesn't use professionals to do consumers' roofs.  We contracted for a tear down of 2 layers with new shingles put on for our new roof.  The first roof was put on wrong with no new plywood put on as per the contract.  The roof was actually crooked and there were obvious depressions in the whole roof, front and rear due to the first contractor not putting any new wood on.  He just slapped the shingles on over the old bare wood.  The edges were crooked and raggedy looking.
They came out a second time with a different crew and replaced the front half, tearing off the original job the first crew did.  The manager was nice about it.  However, we were appalled.  They put on the roof in the front a second time (it was like pulling teeth to have them tear up the whole thing, but they agreed to fix the depressions in the rear with new plywood.  The second contractor did not do this and gave an incredible excuse for not fixing the depressions in the back (needed new wood).  Finally the owner (after coming out and arguing with us for 1 1/2 hours) finally agreed to send someone out to fix the depressions in the rear with new wood being put down.   Someone came out and this was the first man that knew what he was doing.  He took up the shingles in the back, laid down new plywood at the edges where the depressions were the most obvious and it now looks normal, for the most part.  Most of the back peak still has the old delaminated wood.  WE REFUSED TO PAY FOR THE JOB AND IF WE HAD BEEN STUPID ENOUGH TO PAY THIS COMPANY, THEY WOULD NEVER HAVE COME OUT TO FIX THE BOTCHED UP ROOF THEY DID.   BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   We went with this company because of an advertisement off of WMUZ, a Christian radio station.  Shame on them and they'll hear from me too.  We have learned that you cannot go by a Christian advertisement for assurance.  This whole experience was unbelievably stressful, but we were ready to go to court over it.  The owner said to me, the last time I saw him, "I've been sued before and I always win".  Upon my stating that if he fixed the roof properly, we would give him a good rating on Angie's List.  He stated, "I don't care about Angie's List".  The roof was $9,500.00 with the wood being $642.00.  The manager actually didn't charge us for the 3 4 x 8 plywood pieces to fix the depressions in the back, but the owner is a real stinker.  AGAIN, BUYER BEWARE.  He uses shoddy help and they do shoddy work.  The edges of our roof are still raggedy.  Thank God only a professional can tell the difference.

    Seamless Transition Construction LLC
Overall I would say it was great. Very nice to work with, easy going, and hard working. Didnt seem like they ever took a break!  They were very dependable and showed up when they said they were going too unlike other contractors I have had in the past!  I will definetly recommend this company to anyone who is looking to get work done on there house.

the mailbox and board over the opening was fine;  - sealing/caulking -  initial job not well done; called the owner and although he was responsive and came back and redid the work, the lights were still not sealed all the way around and he did not call back to see how the quality was. I won't use them again for the other items i received an estimate for mainly because it is work that requires attention to detail.

    Delisi Construction & Remodeling
I heard about Delisi Construction from a friend. I've had issues with contractors not showing for appointments, so I was very happy to have Jason from Delisi Construction show up the same night that I called for an estimate. The house that I purchased was a basket case, and the longer I lived there, the more issues I found in need of attention (hence the long list of services above). No matter what type of work was needed, Delisi Construction was able complete it in short time and the end results were really clean. The first job was to replace all of the supply plumbing. The previous owner had done all of the plumbing on his own, and it leaked like crazy. Delisi replaced it all with copper, and it never had a problem again. Next, they replaced the original fuse box from 1927 with a circuit breaker panel. The next job was to tear out the dated master bathroom, move some walls out to make room for a tub, and then build the new bathroom from scratch. They tiled the floor and surround, installed a cast-iron tub, put in a new toilet, and installed the vanity. Turned out great. Next project was to redo the siding on the back half of the house and replace the old leaky windows with new vinyl windows. This looked good, and they completed it in 2 days. I was suprised how fast it went. Finally they tore out all of the old plaster on the upper level and refinished it with drywall. I was very happy with how much work I got for the money.
