Basement Waterproofing reviews in Brighton

After years of having a flooded basement we contacted Atlantic Coast Waterproofing. Gary, the owner, came to our home and explained the process he would use to guarantee (life time and transferrable) a dry basement. His explanation was very detailed and he answered all of our questions. The job was started promptly when scheduled and completed in the projected time frame. Plastic was draped over the basement contents to protect from dust, so the mess was minimal. All of the work was handled by the crew, Gary, Cody, Casey, Phil, and the very talented cement finisher, Richard. They cleaned the work site every day so that they were starting fresh the next day. The entire crew of Atlantic Coast Waterproofing possess a very strong work ethic. They are courteous, dependable, and considerate of their client's property. The saying "you get what you pay for", is very true in this case. The job exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend Gary and his company for your waterproofing needs.

Our basement had water coming in between the walls and the floor after the winter thaw and subsequent heavy rains in the spring, despite having 2 sump pumps in one well and adding gutters and downspouts to the house last year. While waiting for a basement waterproofer we knew from our last home, we checked Angie's list and were impressed by the great reviews received about this company. We called, and the owner, Gary, came out that day to assess our situation, explain why were were getting the water, and recommend a plan to correct the problem. His knowledge of water management, his experience, his explanations, and the lifetime unconditional guarantee, convinced us that he was the right one to hire. The job was a very big job, and it took Gary and his crew 9 days working 8 hours a day to complete it, but they were all prompt, hardworking, professional, and knowledgeable, plus they all seemed to enjoy their job and take pride in their work. We often went downstairs to observe and ask questions, and Gary took the time to answer all our questions, as well as to explain in detail the various stages of the job as they were doing it. Because Gary was there on the job every day all day, the specifics of the internal drainage system was determined after all the trenching was done and they could see the best way for the water to flow. With a job like this, I would beware of a contractor that decides everything at the onset and is not there on the job, because flexibility seems to be important in getting the best outcome. In the end, although we would have preferred not to have needed to have this job done at all, we know that we made the right decision for a permanent solution, and we have complete confidence that this will solve our water problem. Thanks Gary and his crew!

    H20 Waterproofing
Project begun approximately March 1, 2015.   Project completed:  May 11, 2015.  WORST EXPERIENCE DEALING WITH A COMPANY EVER.   PLEASE SAVE YOUR SANITY AND HIRE SOMEONE (almost anyone) ELSE BUT THIS COMPANY!!
I have noticed many times on Angies List when I read the reviews that when there is a negative review, very often the owner(s) of the company will post some sort of bland, "happy sounding" "Oh, we try to please everyone, but YOU (the consumer) where just so . . . (fill in the blank, here) . . . crazy, cranky, unreasonable, whatever.    PLEASE don't let them get a way with that here.   I am kind, non-crazy, and was as reasonable and accommodating as a human being can be.
Where DIDN'T they screw up royally?    Let me count the ways:    By delivering carpet to my home without calling me ahead of time to mention that they WERE delivering carpet.   That's right.   No call.   The carpet guys in their van just showed up.   I was like:  "Hmmm. . . wonder who that is?  Since I know I don't have any appointments on calendar for today?"   WORST thing is that H20 had just finished painting the basement the day prior to the carpet delivery.    Several of the painters admonished me as they were leaving, stating:   "Make sure you give it AT LEAST three days to dry."
Overcharged for everything, to a huge extent.   I must have mention to them 8 or 9 times:  "Remove the part where it says:  "Crime Scene Cleanup" .   This was a flood.  Not a crime.   They never did remove it from the invoice.   ALSO, the company never cleaned up after themselves.    The drywall guy left a huge mess in my basement on the floor.   Drywall has to be sanded at some point.  Well, they left that sanding mess for me to clean up.   What a drag.  This was after I had politely asked them to be sure to have one of their workers bring in a shop vac to clean up the painting and drywall debris after the workers were finished.  Never happened.   They also left drop cloths taped to the floors and I had to remove them.
The drywall guy left a huge "bump" in the wall, and in took several months to get them to come back and repair the dyrwall correctly.   One of the principals of the company became so belligerent with me that I ended up feeling so threatened that I actually called the police.  Yep.   I had to have the police talk to the guy.   THEN they had their attorney call me.   This was at the end of April.   Listen, getting the attorney involved was the best thing that ever happened to me.   H20 finally had to finish the work correctly, show up on time after making an appointment with me, and provide me with a different drywall guy than the first guy who screwed up the job.   THIS COMPANY WAS TERRIBLE IN EVERY WAY YOU CAN IMAGINE.

On Thursday afternoon, I went down to the basement and noticed the carpet was wet in the far corner of the room.  I did not smell anything, just saw about a 10 foot area of the finished portion of the basement was wet.   Of course, I was horrified.  I called Gary's company.  He came out the next day and was so amazingly helpful, kind and supportive.   I had just moved to this home only about 3 months ago from out of state.  My husband is currently on the other side of the country and I don't really know anyone here.  I was feeling very scared and very alone with a BIG problem.  Gary stayed with me throughout the process and REALLY went above and beyond to help me.   He showed compassion and concern for my terrible problem.   Gary had to cut a hole in the drywall in order to see where the leak was coming from.   Well, that's when the fun really started.   Turns out the pipe leading out to the septic tank was cracked and there was literally raw sewage running down the wall underneath the pipe and onto the floor.   Gary recommended a septic company and even called the owner of the company, Ed Burgis, of King Septic Company for me.   So Gary took his own time and made several phone calls for me, because I did not know who to call or where to turn to begin to solve the problem.   Gary could see how stressed out I was about this situation and also that I was alone and without a clue as to who to call first.    I cannot tell you enough how thankful and appreciative I am of the kindness, professionalism and care that was shown to me throughout the process of trying to resolve this horrible, smelly leak.   He recommended and even personally called plumbers, the septic company, and a few other professionals.   He gave me wise recommendations that were truly helpful and practical.  He was also incredibly honest about the scope of his capabilities.    I highly recommend calling him if you have a water leakage problem.   Because if Gary cannot fix the problem, at least he will point you immediately in the direction you need to go and exactly what steps you need to take, and most importantly, what other service professionals you need to call next to get your problem solved FAST and correctly.  Thanks, Gary!

    Foundation Systems of Michigan
Overall it went very well. The initial estimate took a little longer to get than expected due to high demand. The actual work occurred sooner than we expected. The advisor was professional and answered all my questions including multiple emails. They helped with competitive financing and the process was easy. The team leader during the install communicated well, answered my questions, and left the site as clean as possible. The inside waterproofing is a dusty process but they did everything they could to mitigate it. It all looks great but it is too early to rate the long term success.

We are delighted with the quality of work and the professionalism of the team.  Joe came out to assess the job and was thorough and professional.  Although the company is very busy at this time of year, they were able to schedule us quickly.  The team was punctual and highly skilled.  They did a lovely job.
Due to the weather, they had to complete the job the next day.  The day after they completed the job we had a lot of rain.  We were thrilled that our garage remained dry and all of the water drained off.  Yea!
We hope to solve some other water issues in the spring and look forward to working with them again.

I had a good experience. The initial assessment of leaks in foundation was thorough and exhibited expertise and clear explanations. We sat down and talked through an estimate for each part of the job. We settled on what we wanted done and agreed on a fair price. (I have not entered the price in my review because I'd rather not share that information; it seemed fair to me). Responded quickly to calls to schedule the work. Came on the scheduled day. Had left it at "in the afternoon," which turned out to be 2pm, which was fine. Completed all work in one day. All work appeared to have been done carefully and properly. All interactions were professional. I would recommend this place based on my experience.

The process went very well, everything was explained prior to the work being done. The work itself was completed on time and correctly. The work site was cleaned up during and after the job was completed. Highly recommended!

They are a local company and family owned and offer good deals. They always call you right back. They charged me way below what others would of charged. I would highly recommended them. They have materials that are a lot higher in quality and are a lot more durable than others.
