5 Tips to Get the Best Tree Service

    Tree Pros LLC
I would like to start off by saying that I am not a customer of Tree Pros. I am an innocent bystander. The neighbor behind my house wanted to cut down a tree that would eventually fall on my garage. The crew approached me and said that they only way they could remove the tree is if they put their crane in my driveway. I didnt really care because I was selling my house and already had a buyer, but I wanted to do a favor for the buyer and save him some work in a couple of years. However, I was concerned about potential damage to my driveway for myself and the new buyer, so I asked if there was a potential for damage. They told me that the cranes have damaged driveways before, but that it normally only happens on newly settled driveways, and even then it would be only a hairline crack. My driveway was old and settled a long time ago, and I was ok with the worst case scenario, which I was told would be a hairline crack, so I agreed to let them do it. In their defense, they did say that they would not be responsible for damages. The next day, I noticed the damage, which was more than a hairline crack. (See attached Image). My driveway was now in pieces. No apology was given, and no note was even left. I called the owner to see what we could do about this, and right off the bat he started blaming me and taking the tone of I told you our cranes have been known to do damage. He refused to pay for the damages, and did not even offer to pay for half of it. I was looking at the very least for some sort of apology, not being blamed, so I admit that I did become irate, and I raised my voice. I let the owner know that I was willing to tell my story on Angies List, and what happened next was very unprofessional. He said You like to talk trash on websites. I would like to come to your house and meet you in person since you are such a tough guy. Where I am from, that is a threat. Fortunately, they buyer was willing to go forward, so no harm was done to me, personally, but people should know that if they hire this company their equipment may cause damage which will be more than a hairline crack, and that if there is some sort of problem, the owner may be hostile.

    Addison Tree Service
We are very happy with the work that Addison Tree did for us and they will absolutely be our go-to guys for work in the future. Steve and his team exceeded our expectations from every aspect, which was impressive given the level of difficulty with this job. They work hard and smart and when they leave you can be assured you got more than your moneys worth. A+

    Independent Lawn Service
Independent Lawn Service provides competitive pricing and good client service, which is important when you need to have any issues addressed. They are reliable and their products seem to work well. Technicians do work thoroughly - they do it quickly, but they apply fertilizers on the entire lawn. We have been with them for a year and are sad though that they will no longer serve our area this year.

    Tree Service of Troy
Service was great! The crew was very professional. I had a huge dying Silver Maple removed, the tree was growing into wires and was in a bad location next to my garage. A lot of other companies walked away from the job but not this one. The owner came out and explained in great detail the surgical process involved in removing the tree. My husband and I were very impressed on how quickly the job got done and nothing was damaged. I would highly recomand this company to whoever wants quality service. Im glad I found a dependable and realiable tree company.

The job was to remove a dying silver maple that was at least 100 tall and about 2-1/2 feet in diameter through the mid-section. Estimated at least 60 years of age, it had been attacked by borers. Dave Jenkins, owner, came with four team members, and he worked alongside all the men. The team completed the entire job in four hours. They were professional and showed great teamwork. We will definitely use EliteArborist again, if the need arises. Daves quotation was competitive and his teams work surpassed our expectations. My wife and I are happy to give them an A+.

Mid Michigan Tree Trimming Services LLC
They were here on time and seemed very nice. I was not home but my partner was, so, on review of their work there were several trees that they did not trim completely, two trees were determined to be dead/dying AFTER they started trimming and they were Oaks so they should not have been trimmed in the summer due to disease spread, which we learned about later from an expert. This company did not treat us as valued customers by leaving this very important piece of information out of the conversation. Bitterly disappointed that my partner paid them for the work. When I called back to ask them to come and finish trimming the over-looked branches they said they would call me back. I'm still waiting. you have been warned

    Clean Cut Tree Experts Inc
Great work! Crew of four arrived on time, worked quickly, did no damage (even though this 100-or-so-footer with a 2-foot-diameter stump was between two houses about 25-feet apart), and cleaned up thoroughly. Part of the tree had cracked off and had been visibly lying in the yard for a couple months, so I had several unsolicited estimates plus several others I requested. Clean Cut wasn't the cheapest, but I hired them because of their responsiveness, professionalism and positive reviews from prior customers. And it was clear from their website that they are well-equipped (bucket truck for cutting, and a small tracked vehicle for removing the heavy wood). I didn't want to take any chances, given the size of the tree and its proximity to both houses. Clean Cut was a great choice.

    Big Twigs Arboricultural Services
The man who went up in the tree with the chain saw was an artist. He was effective and efficient and managed to take down a multi-trunk 50 to 60 tree without dropping any of it on a smaller Serviceberry tree adjacent to it. The team cleaned up the slash as it came down and afterward they had a variety of equipment to move the trunk and turn it all into chips. Also they put down 4x8 sheets of wood to buffer the impact of the tires of the vehicle that moved the trunk (no ruts in the grass). They were about an hour late but they also called to tell me they were running late so if I could have given them a B+ on punctuality I would. Over all though this is a solid A team. everyone was professional, I got my done work in the time frame I wished and other than the tree being gone there were few traces they had ever been here. I think you will be pleased if you hire them.

Everything went like clockwork. Within one week from my contract acceptance I was scheduled in and the job was completed. The team arrived on time, surveyed the area to plan their attack and immediately went to work. The results met my expectations. They even went above and beyond by assisting me in moving bricks over fifty feet then returning them, which saved me about 20 wheel barrow trips one way. They were so professional that I referred them to a friend who used their services also. I even had them come back for a second tree trimming job to include a large branch heap removal. Although a little pricey, their Quality of work is well worth it.
