Gas Leak Repair reviews in Bloomfield

Keith was able to promptly diagnose the problem, determine what was required and provide an estimate to repair. I appreciated Keith's assessment as I thought I needed a much more expensive repair. But he was able to repair at a very reasonable price, and also cleaned the gas log set thoroughly.

I had a very complicated problem with a wood burning fireplace with gas starter and previous companies said I needed to run a new gas line and needed a new liner for over $3000. The owner John of the company came out for free, located where my gas line originated with the shut off valve (that 2 other companies could not find), called an inspector and did research, and informed me my existing gas line that goes under the slab will work but we should do a pressure test. He performed this analysis for free.   I am hiring him to do a pressure test for $89 and if we go forward with converting our fireplace to gas logs, I will use this company.  John is very knowledgeable and professional.

Scheduling was easy and he got back to me quickly when I first called. Consumers Energy came to shut off the gas, and I took the morning off work for him to come to do the work. He called at 7.30 am to cancel since a lot of people called in sick that day. I understand that people get sick, but it was inconvenient as I took a vacation day in order to be home for the job to be done, and I had to scramble to find another plumber on short notice.

After the previously scheduled plumber cancelled on the day expected (after I took the morning off work; very frustrating), I called Nelson Brothers that morning and the plumber was at the house by noon with the issue fixed in a half hour. Very professional, and reliable.

Overall the level of service and concern to customer's satisfaction was great. However, I was not thrilled to find out that there was no solution to my immediate problem (leaking faucet in the bathroom) given that I had to purchase $200 certificate PRIOR to them coming over and giving me the estimate. I ended up spending a lot of money for them to simply turn off the water in my bathroom, and since there was no way to get reimbursed for the $200 coupon I purchased online, they had to repair the gas leak, which I could have probably had done for free if I called Consumers Energy. I ended up spending $500 when only planned to spend no more than $200. Only due to costly services I would probably not use them again, even though the guy was great and very attentive.

I had just moved into a new home when I discovered a leak in the gas line under my cooking range. Being a renter all my life, I was not familiar with the cost or what was involved in the repair. I called around to a few places nearby and settled on one that could come out at a convenient time.
Kevin from Birmingham Plumbing Co. was able to come out the same day. I appreciated the punctuality. The repair looked simple and the only parts required were a flexible gas line and a shut off valve. I thought these parts must be expensive since the bill came to over $400! and only took 15 minutes or so to complete. I later found out I was way overcharged for a relatively simple service. The parts are about $40 so the labor was $360 for something that took less then an hour.
I blame the stress of moving combined with my naiveté on not doing more research first. Knowing what I know now I'd never use them again and I like to warn others to do the same.

Garth from afordable looked over the situation evaluated it and then set to work fixing all leaks. Another plumber told me he could not do it the job was too difficult.  Garth also replaced pipes vents over the water heater that I did not even know were leaking and which the gas company had missed when they tagged the pipes.

It has been great. They are a terrific company to work with. Their prices are very fair and their workers are wonderful and very professional. I see them about twice a year, and plan to use them again soon.
